DDA Chapter 19

Good morning friends. We did sleep in a bit this morning. It was nice to have the option. Unfortunately I took 1 sudafed at 7 AM yesterday and it was apparently still in my system as I really didn't sleep well at all. I should know better, but I thought that taking the half dose that early in the morning would have worn off by bedtime :confused3

I went and picked up the boys this morning and now the two oldest are working on homework. I plan to take them to the aquatics center swimming later, but we'll see what time they finish the homework.

I'm hoping to do a bit of cleaning today. I have stripped our bed and started washing that. I guess I should vacuum and dust in there too. I think it might even be warm enough to open a few windows and air all the germs out.

We had a nice day today. Once the kids had their rooms cleaned, we headed out for the afternoon. We had every intention of taking the kids to the Kennecott Copper Mine. It's the largest open pit mine in the world. It can be seen from space! (Sound familiar, Theresa???) Well, as we got in the car, we noticed a dark cloud just hanging over the mine. We called a neighbor that works there and found out that it was in white out conditions that afternoon. Real blizzard happening there. The funny thing was that everywhere else was clear and sunny. So, we had to come up with a plan B. We took the kids to the University of Utah's natural history museum. We decided to get a year long pass so we can go back many times. There are several exhibits we want to check out in the upcoming months. There were some people working in the dinosaur lab, and when they saw Jacob with his nose pressed up against the window, trying to see what they were doing, they invited him in. He, Katie and Alan got to go on a private tour of the "off limits" lab. They were working on cleaning up some dinosaur bones that had been brought in this week, so it was exciting for Jacob.

The twins had a great time with the hands on exhibits meant for the little ones. After that, we strolled through the mineral exhibits, and everyone found their birthstones. Very exciting! By this time, Timothy was hungry, so I excused myself to the car to feed him, while Alan and the kids looked around some more. They were kicked out as the museum closed, and the kids were thrilled to know that we could come back whenever we want.

We headed off to a pizza place for dinner, but the wait time was astronomical! We had forgotten that there was a basketball game at the university, which made things crazy! Instead, we headed to Alan's favorite sandwich place, Jimmy John's, and we split 3 sandwiches between the 6 of us. Very nice.

Now, we're home, and I'm trying to convince the kids to go to bed since we'll be losing an hour tonight. It's not going over very well with anyone but me!

Since things are quiet, I think I'll sign off and go do some reading. Alan is cuddling with the baby, so I'm going to enjoy some me time! Night all!

Sounds like an amazing day.....The girls and I love Jimmy John's also. I love the fact that 2 sandwiches feed the four of us and their pickles are so dang yummy!!

GOOD LUCK VICKI AND JENNIFER!!!!

Gotta love how IPO said they wouldn't make my ADRs for the days we aren't in concierge, but now they say it's fine.

It's just one ADR, so maybe that's why they are willing to go ahead and include it.

All of my requests have been submitted, they have my cc# on file for the Safari, now all there is to do is WAIT. :rolleyes1

My room is looking better and airing out. The bedding should be done soon. The bathroom/Riley's bedroom is cleaned too. Chris is out splitting wood with my brother. So this is what it's like to accomplish something :lmao:

yes
his Dad, uncle and one of his cousins came over, as well as a few friends. We got him a ticket to see Bruce Springstien in concert for his Birthday.

sounds like a good time!!

So Virginia has not had a fever since Friday afternoon. But she is still not acting like herself. Still not eating much.

since Jeff and his dad are working on getting the garden ready to plant. I am looking at Deb's site at the menus for the restaurants to eat at next time at WDW.

I am thinking we might try 50's prime time for lunch. Any other suggestions.
I think we will do earl of sandwich again at least once.

Hi Lindsay Jeff's birthday is actually today we just had his 40th birthday party last night.

how are you feeling?

Elin - sorry I missed you today. I was actually knocking stuff off of my to-do list. I went grocery shopping, came home and made strawberry freezer jam, and did 3 loads of laundry. I was going to start washing some windows since it is warm and cloudy, but the sun decided to come out and shine on them.

I've got the checkbook balanced, the budget done and the bills paid. All I can say is I'll be glad when my second paychecks start rolling in. We also got a call from our accountant and our taxes are done. We're even getting a refund :cool1: Not enough for a WDW vacation, but it will certainly help replenish the money we spent on the furnace. I guess it's been a good day

Tammi - I wish it would have worked out better to get together today too. Joanne and I had a wonderful couple of hours and I know you would have enjoyed it too. Another time for certain!
