I just got an email....I passed the City and County of Denver test....with an 88.86%:cool1: (I know the section on fractions is really what got me;) )

So I have made it through to the next step:goodvibes

Congrats! :thumbsup2

The band director told DH that going forward (I guess in high school) there are no changes to assigned times, so Pushy Mom won't be able to manipulate things to her liking.

Hope the written exam goes well, Deb!

Theresa - I was SOOO tempted to buy clearance Valentine candy the other day! The only reason I didn't is because I didn't feel like splitting the stuff into 2 transactions.

Congrats!! :thumbsup2

I just called the band director for DS's scores. He got Superior in both snare and timpani!!

Congrats to DS! :cool1: :cool1:

Becky - I will NOT be sharing those photos with him, but thanks for posting! :rotfl2:
Our middle school AND our high school have kind of weak band programs. I am pretty sure there isn't a proper drum line at either one.
The other high school we were looking at has an awesome drum line, but I don't think we are really in the mood to move now.
The band director told DH that if we send DS to the performing arts high school that he can still march at the "regular" high school because the arts school doesn't do marching band. Of course DS doesn't want to go to the arts high school. That's a Mommy dream, not a DS dream.

Not all of the indoor or winter drumlines are not attached to the schools. So there might be one out there that he could join. You might want to ask his band director if he knows of any near by. I think most require that you be 14 to join. Which I know he is not yet. But you may be able to attend a competition if one is nearby.

ohhhhh...tense!

We did go to Target where I found a ton of stuff in the Valentine's section for 90% off and Dollar Spot at 75% so I was able to pick up a few more things for Abi's birthday and some chocolate for me for under $6.:cool1:

what did you find?

what did you find?

well I found 2 pair of undies for me for $1.74:lmao:

for Abi: Some pencils for the pencil bag, a paper weight for the art box (.25 cents a piece) and a lunch box in the valentine section (paper but good quality) that I will put 13 snacks into. ::cool1: I think that is it

Two tins of chocolate for myself.

I have sort of skimmed through info on the drum & bugle corps type stuff, but there are not any corps within a reasonable distance. There is an all-age corps (still have to be 14 to join, but no max age) up at UNT if I remember correctly. We'll look into those a little more seriously when he gets older.
