Thank you for the explanation Jennifer!
He finally broke down and went to the doctor today. The dr. ordered blood work to make sure he doesn't have an injury to any organs, and he also sent him for chest and rib xrays. He is in a lot of pain, but if he stays medicated he's okay. He probably has a crack or a bad bruise to one of his ribs.
if I remember correctly it does not affect the baby per se. It can cause mom to get real sick and if she gets to sick then it could cause complications. Especially if she can not keep enough fluids down then she becomes dehydrated and starts cramping. IF those don't stop then its bad for baby.
I'm sorry he isn't feeling better! I hope he hasn't damaged anything too severely!
That makes even less sense to me. Like we are all risking listeria poisoning every time we eat deli meat? If that's true then why aren't they making a bigger deal about it? Just to warn pregnant women doesn't seem adequate. Very strange.
So, look what I did yesterday....

Thanks! I bought a Nikon D90 around Halloween. I didn't play with it as much as I had hoped before my trip. I can't wait to go back in May and take even more photos. Hopefully spring with come to MA and they'll be something to take photos of here-it looks so dismal here now.Bernadette, loved the fireworks pics! What kind of camera do you have again? Those pics should be postcards in the giftshop!![]()
Thanks!Bernadette - another fine update. Thanks.
SOOOOOO cute! That is so precious to have!!!Thanks everyone, we're thrilled. Brandon is so excited to be a Big Brother, he took off his Big Brother shirt when he took his bath because he wanted to wear it tomorrow. It needs to be washed but he has another one that I'll take with me to pick him up from school so he can wear it to the hospital.
Here's a short video of him talking about being a big brother, I'm so glad I caught it.

Thanks! Hope we'll see lots from you!Tom and Bernadette, more nice pictures.
Thanks!Tom and Bernadette -- love the pics!
I'm not sure how my day will go. I have work at 4 PM and intended to take the kids to the pool beforehand, but it has been so packed there with schools out that I may not do so. I can work out after work tonight to keep myself on track. Nick is complaining of a sore throat too. Tomorrow I have my drug test and I'm thinking I might take the kids to the movies, but I don't even know what is playing.I don't work until 5 PM tomorrow night.
I really need to do that both at home and work!!!Well, I'm slowling getting things done at last. The party invitations are officially delivered. (I'd emailed the moms last week when I wasn't able to get them in the mail earlier.) All the mail has been taken care of. My email accounts are fully cleaned up - something that never seems to happen. Laundry is in process. I stumbled across the perfect template for the birthday decorations. Now I'm ready for a muffin and some coffee. After that, it's back to the party work since we need to go shopping for the rest of her stuff tonight.
Hope it went away!I have a stunning headache. I took 4 Advil and they didn't even take the edge off.
WOW!!!!!So, look what I did yesterday....

I won't say how long it lasted with me-especially with Emma.Lindsay - How excting!!![]()
They say the nausea actually peaks at 9 weeks, so hopefully it will start to taper off.I was fine after 14 weeks, but that first trimester was brutal.
Thanks for this update! I almost did blue.I thought it was more green then blue, I'll go change it!!
my oldest is a stinker....she shared a drink with a sick kiddo last week and then turned around and shared it with me....my throat is ticklish and my eyes are burning and I am still exhausted even though I got a reasonable amount of sleep.
She asked me to call her out for one class (in the middle of the day) and wasn't thrilled with my caveat...she has to come straight home after her last class and can't stay for any extra cirriculars.
Must be a boy.The one thing I seem to be able to eat at any time is a cheeseburger.![]()
Hope your both feeling better soon!I'm home with Stephanie today. Usually when she gets out of school for the day, she runs up and hugs me with a big smile on her face. Yesterday when I picked her up she was almost crying. She said her tummy hurt. Then we knew for sure she was sick when Craig offered her a french fry and she took it, but didn't eat it and went and laid down. She immediately was asleep. She woke up a bit later, had dinner, was her giggly old self and then when I went to bed, she said her tummy hurt again. She got up about 3 times last night for different things and then just looking at her she's miserable. She says her tummy still hurts and her head. She's all congested and has a slight fever. I didn't mind staying home today because I woke up stuffy too.
Congratulations! Thanks for being good friends. Post 15,000
Hope he can find some relief for that!He finally broke down and went to the doctor today. The awards assembly was nice. There were 3 different awards presented to each of the first grade classrooms. The first was perfect attendance, so I knew she wasn't getting that. Next was Teacher Recognition, meaning that a student did something wonderful that the teacher wanted him/her recognized for. Not Alyssa. Third was most improved, again not Alyssa. So I knew it had to be the last one, which was the Soarin' Award for Academic Excellence. She got a medal, an Eagle (school mascot) pin (that excited her thanks to our pin collecting) and a Principal's pencil. I went to Walmart after and got her Taylor Swift's new CD as a little gift from me. I'll post some pictures later. I would post the video I took, but everyone was called up by first and last names, plus it has the name of the school and everything, so I'm being kinda cautious about that.
it is very rare to occur the Listeria. and most of us would just think it was a stomach bug.
Elizabeth how is your Headache.

Seems I keep being reminded that Garrett is growing up. He came home from school today very excited because guess what.......
He passed his drivers permit test! So by Tuesday he should have his permit in hand
He told me that now he can drive me around![]()
http://www.fsis.usda.gov/Fact_Sheets/Protect_Your_Baby/index.aspI guess that's true. I still find it odd that I have never heard about listeria in conjunction with anything other than hot dogs. I guess maybe it is more common in hot dogs?

She shouldn't eat pate either but I doubt that is high on her list right now either.![]()

One in five people DIE from it and yet it doesn't warrant widespread warnings? Great.![]()
WOW!!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
So exciting! You are due on our 25th anniversary! I didn't eat cold cuts when I was pregnant with any of mine. You're also supposed to stay away from some cheese-like blue cheese but I can't imagine that is on your list of wants right now. I had a rough time with each one but once I get better I could eat anything with Joe-he's my good eater now.
I won't say how long it lasted with me-especially with Emma.![]()
