DDA Chapter 17

I think Pearl is sick too...so I'll send some pixie dust flying your way. I forgot to get our vet's name from Jim so I could call them to make an appt. Our poor kitties.

Not another sick kitty! I hope Pearl is OK too. :grouphug:

Lizzy will love it. She may need more than just a fleece with the current Florida temperatures.
Thanks! The long range forecast is looking pretty good. Accuweather has highs in the high 70's lows in the 50's and weather.com has highs in the 80's. Much better than mornings in the 30's they've had.

Terry sent me an email and said the inside of her house was 53 this morning in Jacksonville. They only have electric heat. She should get warmer in a day or 2 also.

I hope you are feeling better now, Deb. You too, Elin!

Ditto & you as well Debbie pixiedust:

Debbie I hope they can straighten out your meds. I'm actually surprised that you numbers are going up as you are watching your diet and exercising. Usually that helps in itself :wizard:

I agree... I hope you get yourself straightened out soon so you will start feeling better, Debbie.

I am still sick. It is all I can do to get my teaching done. I come home and Kristin feeds me soup and I go to bed. I just wanted to try to catch up here before going to bed. I hope everyone else who has been feeling poorly gets better very soon! :grouphug:

Robyn- I am at the same weight as you. I would like to be under 200 by my weigh in on February 2nd. Hopefully I will make it.:cool1: :cool1:

So my Uncle to be's brother died of an asthma attack which caused a heart attack. He was only 40. Plus my co-worker's Mom died from cancer.

In other news, I am the proud owner of round trip airfare to Florida for March 2-10. I figured you only live once. It was only a bit over $100. Had I convinced myself I did not need a checked bag, it would have been $30 less. Now to figure out other details. I also found out they have a kiosk at the mall I could have went to instead of dealing with going to the airport to avoid the online booking fee.

Deb- Glad the boots worked out.

Happy Birthday Glynis!

Happy Birthday Marci!

Hope the kitties feel better soon!

Deb- Feel better!

I hope Gary feels better.

Tom- As always great outfit! Your trip is getting close.

Debbie- I hope you can get your meds straightened out.

Elizabeth- That is crazy with PE class.

Bernadette- Your trip is super close. Have fun.

I hope you all have fun with Flat Stanley.

Janet - Keep an eye on Gary. There is a NASTY GI bacterial thing making its rounds and it lasts for days. My boss was down and out for 7 days. She lost 9 pounds. Try to keep liquids going into him even if they won't stay in there. ;)

HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY GLYNIS!

oh too cute scraplifting Glynis hope you had a terrific day

DS is in a bit of a sticky situation. :guilty:
Apparently in PE some days the coaches play each other in one-on-one basketball while the kids watch. Apparently some of the kids have been betting on the games. They have been betting with the coaches, and money is changing hands. One of the asst. principals called DS down to the office today to ask him what goes on in PE. DS told him. (DS swears he has never bet on the games. We don't allow him to take money to school, but I suppose he could sneak it and we wouldn't know.)
After school DS was on his way to Band and the coaches stopped him and asked him why he got called to the office. They kept pressing him for more info and he told them he was being questioned about PE. :sad2:

I am going to call the asst. principal in the morning and see what is going on. He also needs to know that the coaches know DS tattled on them. :scared:

:crowded: he is caught in the middle, poor kid. I think a call to the asst. principal is definitely in order. He does need to know that your DS told the truth and that the coaches know about it.

Yikes! A sticky situation indeed. I wouldn't want PE coaches mad at me-I always hated PE enough without that kind of mess!

Well, that's the thing. The new semester started yesterday and they put the kids from PE into a computer applications class. I called his counselor because I would have SWORN PE was a year long elective. She said PE is a semester and computer is a semester. Computer is mandatory for all 7th graders. Huh. OK, whatever.
So he isn't in class with the coaches anymore. BUT the asst. principal had him submit a written statement about the betting, the fact that nobody was in the locker room supervising the boys the day DS was backed into a corner and threatened by a bully, the fact that the coach uses inappropriate language (never met a coach who didn't, but maybe that was more in high school). They are so building a case to terminate this guy.

I am tempted to keep DS home tomorrow. Just give him a freebie day and write a note saying he wasn't feeling well. Then I can talk to the principal or whoever and know that DS is safe with me. What do you guys think?

Thanks for all the well wishes, I really do think it's a matter of adjusting the meds, she mentioned on my last visit that we may have to increase my dosage.

Elin - I was hoping to hear that you were on the mend. :grouphug:

Janet - Here's some PD for Gary pixiedust:

Elizabeth - I would not be happy about that situation at all.

I had better try and get some sleep,

Good Night

And now it is time for me to take meds and go to bed again. Good night, friends!

Becky - I am glad you booked a trip!! :cool1:

Elin & All Other DDA who are not feeling well - I hope everyone is feeling much better in the morning!! pixiedust:

I think we have a sick cat :guilty: Blue, our Himalayan has been wheezing when she breathes & coughs like she has a fur ball but nothing comes up. I am thinking she has some upper respiratory problems. I called the vet & will drop her off in the morning.

Please send some pd that it is nothing serious & hopefully something medicine can take care of.

DH got his new camera today. It came with the original box. That pleased him. It also came with the manuals and so forth. Now he has a camera that actually uses the battery he bought on clearance! :rotfl:

Have a wonderful birthday Glynis!

Love it, can't wait to hear about your trip.

I've tried to look at your pictures also Amy, but so far all I've gotten was the spinning Mickey arm. :sad1:

Marci, I agree, that's a great picture in your siggy.

Congrats on all the weight loss, I need to get myself back on track, I have managed to maintain where I was at, so no gain is not so bad.

Hopefully everyone is feeling better :grouphug:

I'm not feeling so great myself, but it's not a bug. My sugar levels have been higher than my goal range lately, I changed meds a while back and my numbers have been slowly increasing, I have to give my doctor a call and make an appointment so we will discuss it then. Along with this I've been tired again, like before we started any treatment, and I'm having leg cramps again.

We're only four weeks from our new baby's arrival so I definitely need to pull myself together.

Gary has been in bed all day only to get up to go to the bathroom. I know he has not eaten, but I don't think he has drank anything either. Hopefully with all the sleep he will be much better tomorrow.

I got the tree downstairs & brought up the cat carrier. All the cats freak because they know it means a trip to the vet.

Garrett told me last night he will be going to the Sweetheart Swirl at school. The girls are suppose to ask the guys & the girl that Garrett has known for 3 years asked him. He says they are just friends ;) Anyway he said she is wearing a black dress with shiney sparkles on it & now needs to shop for something to wear. At 1st he said he wanted a tux! I told he I did not think this dance was that formal, but if he goes to prom I will get him one.

Poor Gary.

I can't wait to see pics of Garrett dressed up.

Here's the fleece hoodie I made Lizzy. I found the Pooh fleece as a remnant on Black Friday. Now it can be nice and warm when we go to Disney. My countdown is wrong. I only have 5 days. I never fixed it after I added a night with the 7 for 4 deal. I'm a bit :scared1: and a lot :yay: I'm so excited to be returning to the Poly!!!

:cheer2: for a trip!!

That's probably a good idea. I'm sorry he's being caught in the middle. :(

Bernadette- Your trip is super close. Have fun.
How tragic about the asthma attack. One in the OB's in the practice I go to died in the hospital of an asthma attack right after delivering a baby.

Congrats on booking a trip! Where will you stay?

I'm so exciting to be going back to the Polynesian.

Bernadette - the hoody is adorable!
Thanks!

Oh...now I remember you saying that he didn't have PE anymore. That's good. I would certainly think he'd be OK tomorrow but I can understand your worry.

DH got his new camera today. It came with the original box. That pleased him. It also came with the manuals and so forth. Now he has a camera that actually uses the battery he bought on clearance! :rotfl:
Now he just needs rain.

I did something to my camera and couldn't get it to focus so I had to manually focus all the pictures for Emma's birthday cake last night. The cake was really good!!! I usually order several days in advance but due to the MKL holiday I just called on Tuesday for pickup Wednesday. I don't know if they make them more than a day in advance usually but this one was better than the others. So I have to read my camera manual so I can get the focus back-or watch the DVD again.....
