DDA Chapter 17

Congrats to everyone on their weight loss.

It was a beautiful day here but I have something wrong with me...I am in agony from my neck to my knees and still can't hear out of my ears. We decided to try and find Abi some new shirts (the girl is 5'7" and is not stopping)because she constantly stretching most of her shirts to cover belly. We found ONE shirt for her but I happened upon a $2 dress at Lane Bryant for myself.:cool1:

The football game on now just looks so painful :scared: for the players.

We also started getting Abi's 13 presents this weekend.

So far we have:

a baking box-will be a covered dish/pan with a mix and 12 items needed for baking/cooking

a hair pretty bucket-a cute tin with 13 hair pretties in it.

writing-for this one we have a few writing/coloring items picked out.

we will be getting for sure:

a new water bottle with 13 straws in it
a Vera Bradley book cover (if I can find one...a regular one if I can't) and 13 bookmarks

after that I am out of ideas.....anybody??

Cassidy is on her first official date that didn't involve a school dance or a group of other people. I swear she was just Avery and Elise's size. :sad2:
Boy, lots of landmarks in your house tonight. I hope you can figure out whatever is wrong and that the pain subsides soon. Sounds like some great gifts!

I got my 7 mile run in today. I was able to do it in less than the 16 minute miles which I need to maintain for the Princess. I'm on track to be ready for the Princess Half.

:cool1: :cool1: That is great news. It sounds like you will be very well prepared.

Has anyone on here tried the stretchable iron-on transfers? I am considering some for the Princess Half Marathon but don't want to spend $30 or more for the wicking material and then ruin it with an iron on transfer.

I used them and they did not work well for me. I would suggest doing an iron on on a different fabric then sewing it to the wicking material or maybe making a small design and turning it into a button :scratchin

Wow, I hope you feel better.

For Abi how about a gift card for 13 MP3 tracks. I know my 13 year old would like it :thumbsup2

Bernadette I hope that Lizzy is feeling better. Dealing with sick kiddos when the parent's are tired is not a good thing.

I'm so glad it's the weekend, and a long one to boot. Although I am dreading this inauguration crap. It is going to be CRAZY around here. I have to be at work at 3AM on Tuesday, which I guess is good because if I went in at regular time I probably would never get there. They are shutting major interstates into DC down, which is going to make driving around northern Virginia unbearable. I see major gridlock in my future. Anyway, Bob will spend the night here and take the kids to daycare in the morning. They are off on Tuesday as well. The good thing is that I SHOULD be able to head home early in the afternoon, hopefully beating all the crowds.

Tonight Alyssa had her third tap class, and I must say she is catching on quite well. I was concerned because I put her in mid-year, and she is actually in a tap 2 class, with 7/8 yr olds. She got frustrated the first two times because she wasn't picking it up. I hope she enjoys it because there is no turning back. I already paid her costume fee for the spring show!

Then we came home and had pizza and movie night. I picked up "Ballet Shoes" at Redbox, about an orphan who becomes a ballet dancer. It got a 6 thumbs up. Now we are in my bed having a sleepover.

Good night!

Good luck with the inauguration traffic! My niece is there with her university marching band. They were asked to come, and fund raised their hind ends off! They were able to charter a flight, and are there, now. I think it would be a neat thing to be able to tell your kids about!

I'm glad Alyssa is liking tap class. I loved taking tap in college.

If you like Ballet Shoes, you ought to get the books for Alyssa. There are a series of "shoe" books that are really fun. Katie loved them. I think she read them when she was 8. Skating Shoes, Ballet Shoes, Theater Shoes. I think that's all, but there may be more.

Work was much busier than I anticipated. I actually waited on more people than I did on Friday. Of course there was only 4 waitstaff so that helps. On the weekends we have 8 waitstaff.

I also got some good news about memberships at the new aquatics center. We can save money by getting a one year membership and having it deducted monthly rather than having to come up with a big lump sum now. If we were to just do a monthly contract it would be $137/mth, but getting a yearly contract and having it deducted monthly is about $85/mth. That is a huge savings. Nick and I are going to try to tour the facility tomorrow since Colby and Hunter are staying at my parent's house tonight. Hopefully this will be the missing link in our weight loss plans here.

Hi everyone! It's been a long time! I'll try to keep up but don't know how well I'll do ;)

Let's see, what's been going on. I'm still working at the church as bookkeeper. Our server crashed and we lost 2.5 years of data. Even the software company checked it out and what was supposed to be the most current info was only from 04, so at least the backup I had was from 06, so I've been working about 3/4 time and full time being Mom's taxi. Craig's still commuting about 100 miles a day and when the gas prices were so high, he started taking the bus which added on an additional 2.5 hours to his day so the girls hardly saw him at all. Now he's back to driving, so that's a good thing. Kaelyn is 14 and in 8th grade. She's involved in band and colorguard and her friends. She's somehow hurt her forearm and is currently in a sling. Stephanie is 7 and in 1st grade and involved in soccer, basketball and now maybe TaeKwonDo.

We went to DL last March because Craig had to take a class in Anaheim and his work paid for hotel and some of the gas. This year we're getting back a decent tax return and I wanted to go to WDW, since Craig & I didn't get to take the trip for our 15th anniversary last year, but Craig's being all practical saying we should pay off some bills. The real killer is the airfare!

Hi, Kelli! It's been a long time, but it sounds like you have had enough to keep you quite busy!

How did you like DL? I wish I'd known that you were going. I would have tried to get down there. Of course, I wouldn't have been able to ride my favorites due to being pregnant. Now that the baby's here, I'm looking forward to Indiana Jones, and California Screamin!

Thanks, Glynis! I had no idea there was a book series. I looked on Amazon and saw Dancing Shoes and Party Shoes as well!

Good luck with the gym membership, Deb!

Now that I've wound down a bit I need to get to sleep. Chat with you all in the morning.

Good morning Elizabeth!

Deb, hooray for a decent night and saving money! I'd love to have a membership anywhere at this point, but we just don't have the money if I can do most of the things here. :(

Well forget about the 3" from Sat. night that I posted about, as it snowed all day yesterday. :sad2:

I have to get ready for work, but I need a favor!

Julia is a beautiful little 4-year-old girl who LOVES WDW and all of the princesses. Her mom is in the middle of a hideous divorce. Not sure what's going on with Julia right now, but Mike (a CM who has met Julia) has asked for some posts to cheer her up.

I am not good with the graphics, but if any of you have a minute and would post a little something for Julia I know she would appreciate it!
