DDA Chapter 17

We went and got our membership and ID's for the new aquatics center. They even gave us the corperate discount as we "think" that the Town of Hartland will be getting a corprate membership and school employees will be included. She did not want to have to change the membership later so gave us the discount now. That was nearly a $200 discount. The monthly family membership is now less than our DVC dues :goodvibes and we can use it year round. Chris and I also get 12 free classes each month.

Vicki, Follow your heart with Becky. It will be hard, but bite your lip before you say anything. Let others around her say their piece but you keep mum.

Hal and I were going crazy when Guenna was going with this one guy cause he was such a jerk. We really thought he was being abusive but could not pinpoint anything. It took her brothers to keep harping on him and she finally admitted he was being abusive. It took her friends to really get on her and she finally told him to hit the highway. It was all I could do to be civil when he was around. I really wanted to give him the same kind of abuse he was giving my daughter.

I even went to see his mother and she agreed with me but even she could not convince Guenna. Love is so very blind.

If all else fails, be there when he finally does the one thing that stops her world because she will need you then.
That's wonderful advice, Terry.

Prayers needed: Chuck's mom is in the hospital again. She had another reaction to her pain meds. They just can't get them right. They keep zonking her out where she has trouble waking up.

Good thoughts for her! pixiedust: Does she have a history of TIA? FIL had those, and they thought his meds were making him wonky but it was becasue he kept having mini strokes.

feel better soon Debbie!! I can't take any of those pain meds....they make me dizzy and major pukey

I have gotten more sensitive to pain meds as I have gotten older.
Debbie, I am so sorry about your tooth and the whole mess! I HATE going to the dentist.

Debbie--I am with you and your feelings about Dentists. I must admit since I had my root canal and two cavities taken care of, my mouth does feel better. Something about if your head or feet hurt, it affects your whole body.

When my shoes are too tight it makes my teeth hurt. Weird, huh?

I need prayers for Becky. She is not making good decisions in her life. She is engaged and plans to get married on December 5. This is to a guy who doesn't seem to know how to tell the truth. I don't want to go into details but just pray that she comes to her senses and sees him for what he is.

Oh. Not good. I really hope she changes her mind!! pixiedust:

Did I mention that my boss called tonight to see if I was okay? Apparently I was supposed to work tonight. Of course when I called to check my schedule they told me Tues, Thursday and Friday and I wrote it down while I was still on the phone. I had also checked the "schedule in progress" while I was still at work on Sunday night. Boss admitted that he originally had me scheduled for Friday, but then switched me to Thursday. I'm guessing he made the change after I called. In any event I didn't work tonight and I am not scheduled for Tomorrow  Apparently it was not busy tonight and they were fine without me anyway. Why he called at 8:30 PM instead of 4:30 PM is beyond me. So I don't work again until Sunday. I guess I wouldn't have made much anyway...right?

That's wonderful advice, Terry.

This is the advice that my mother followed when I was with my abusive boyfriend. It was very hard for her too. I've always tried to emulate her because I really needed that support. I was supporting myself so my actions only caused them concern. We are helping Becky with college, her car, her insurance, etc. His actions have affected us monetarily now and so we have to take action to protect ourselves. That's why I need the prayers. I don't want to lose my daughter but we have to protect ourselves.

Wow! A lot of stuff is going on.

Tammi - your beach vacation sounds great. The Valentine's dinner sounds just perfect! I wish we had something like that here. Guess I'll be doing something like that here.

Vicki - I love the medal! I think that I want one. Maybe I can convince Alan that I need it to go with my Donald one. Hmmmm. I'll also be praying for Becky. This is a tough situation for families. You want to be supportive of her, but you can see so clearly what she cannot. We went through the same thing with my sister, and it was hard. Just keep the lines of communication open so that she feels free to come to you. Don't ever badmouth the young man. That will just make her feel like she can't come to you when she needs to. I'll keep her (and you and Chuck) in my prayers for a good outcome for this. :grouphug:

Today has been a really odd day. Something is up with Timothy. He wants to be held all the time, and screams and screams when I put him down. I haven't had a minute to myself since noon. Right now, he's screaming in his swing, as I really needed a break. I can't wait for Alan to get home and take over the parenting thing. I'm not sure what Timothy's problem is, but I hope it resolves itself soon. He's been nursing all day long, so I know he's not hungry.

Well, I just checked my emails....it didn't take long to get the thanks but no thanks email from yesterday. BLECH!!:crazy2:

I am so sorry to hear this, Theresa. What the heck is wrong with people??

Tia - good for sticking to your guns and good for you for offering to cover this week anyway. That shows Erin that you understand her position too and expect that she will respect yours!

So we got an offer on the house. A very low offer.:p Dana's company will not accept it nor will we. Open house Saturday & 3 showings before that so there is lots of activity (we had lowered the price a few weeks ago).

Whatever happens I want to stay til the end of June so the kids can finish the school year.

No wonder they wanted to come to your house to make the offer. :sad2: Good luck with the showings this week!!

Debbie - I am so sorry you are having so much trouble with your teeth.

Vicki - your medallion will be gorgeous! And I am sending PD for Chuck's Mom. How difficult for everyone involved. :(

Ear infection. My kids would scream if we put them in the swing when they had ear aches :grouphug: Maybe just a growth spurt. Does tylenol help?

I'm sure we will. I've stayed at this condo 2 times in the past. The view isn't the best. In fact there is no view, as it's a bottom unit with a huge dune blocking the windows, but it is soooo convenient to the pool and beach. Plus he gives me access to his owners closet, so we don't have to take boogie boards, chairs, umbrellas, or fishing poles. I also get a bit of a break on the rental price. ;) As a matter of fact, I was looking at websites today for beach portraits down there as well!

sounds perfect for you all

I need prayers for Becky. She is not making good decisions in her life. She is engaged and plans to get married on December 5. This is to a guy who doesn't seem to know how to tell the truth. I don't want to go into details but just pray that she comes to her senses and sees him for what he is.

I hope she figures out on her own what is best. pixiedust: pixiedust: :grouphug: and hugs to you and Chuck. I am glad that Chuck dfound out about his Mom.

Anne Marie- Sorry the bid was low. Hopefully you will get lots of good bids soon.

:grouphug: and pixiedust: to all of you.

I did not have to go to my meeting as it was postponed due to the parking lot being a sheet of ice. It is next Thursday.

I totally agree with Glynis.

Well, I just checked my emails....it didn't take long to get the thanks but no thanks email from yesterday. BLECH!!:crazy2:

I'm so sorry! Hang in there!

Theresa - Sorry about the job, :grouphug:

Yesterday was NOT a good day. After the dental appointment, which was no fun. The tooth broke as she was pulling it, she had to drill into the roots and screw something into it to pull it out. No wonder I am petrified of the dentist, I stopped and got my pain meds on the way home so that I could start them before the numbness wore off, the meds made me ill so I spent the evening throwing up and hurting.

Thankfully today was much better, I went to work and took OTC meds and they worked well enough for me to stay all day. Now I have to force myself to make another appointment to get the other tooth fixed that I have also lost a filling from before it gets to the root canal or extraction phase.

I really dislike the dentist, too. Look at it this way -- if you go ahead and make an appt. to get it fixed sooner, rather than later, it won't be as painful or as costly.

Prayers needed: Chuck's mom is in the hospital again. She had another reaction to her pain meds. They just can't get them right. They keep zonking her out where she has trouble waking up.

I'm so sorry! Prayers for Chuck's Mom. :grouphug:

They are so excited about it. I'm not supposed to tell Bob about it. They prepare the food, set the table, serve the parents, and then sit down to eat with us. Alyssa wants to have her birthday party there. They have a cheese and chocolate fondue party that she wants to have.

That sounds so fun for everyone!

Prayers that Becky seems him for who he really is. :grouphug:

One of my coworkers' sons takes cooking lessons there and LOVES it. His mom thinks it is terrific and has made Harry seriously think of studying culinary arts after high school. Must be good. And it sounds like fun!

Oh, no... Vicki. I am so sorry to hear this. I hope she sees him for what he is. :grouphug: for you and Chuck and  for Becky.
