DDA Chapter 16

Hi Everyone. I just found this board, I have been at Dis for awhile, but JUST got the idea to design shirts for our trip in OCT . This board is awesome! I can't believe all the great things around here!!

Woohoo! I'm finally caught up. It only took a half hour!

Bob and the kids took me out to dinner tonight. My choice. So I picked Red Lobster. I was in the mood for seafood, shrimp and scallops.

I got a 3D cube from WDW with Nicholas and Alyssa's picture inside, with the light-up base, which is what I asked for. Funny thing is, WDW sent 2!!!!! He got one before Christmas, that came with the original paperwork. Then yesterday the other one showed up at his house. No paperwork whatsoever in it. He said he tried calling WDW, but was on terminal hold. So being that he made an effort to correct their mistake, should I feel good about keeping it? I was considering giving that one to my parents.

Thanks for all the support, no matter what happens I'll be able to keep my full time status. Besides having the seniority I also have the knowledge to do any of the positions that will be left, I just hate that it may come down to "pulling rank" and therefore pushing someone else out.

The problems you're talking about Tammi are actually caused by moves like this one. The first place corporate makes cut backs are in payroll, when I first started with the company there was a full time person and two part timers assigned to each department, they were allowed to work in that department and were knowledgible about it. Now you have one full time person for every three to four departments, and they are lucky to work in their areas at all.

I held them both up side by side, and I don't see anything wrong with them. Plus, they look exactly the same. I'll check closer tomorrow in the daylight.

My brother has always laughed at me and called me the "old woman"--I mean, i like going out for a couple of drinks but usually thats it (especially since usually im the driver!) Ive only gotten really drunk a couple of times and I cant stand the next morning--so I am not into the getting so drunk you dont remember things every weekend

I don't drink (usually)...we didn't have a bridal shower or any of that. It was an open bar and with the alcoholics (yes, they really are alcoholics) on both sides of our TINY wedding we had no problem hitting the $250 min.

Jim's dad got into it with a group of cowboys (I got married in MT) in the bathroom and I guess ended up on the floor...it was a good thing I had already left or he still might be there.

I always said I wanted a do over on the ceremony...guess that ain't going to happen.

Sounds like it--we seem to have alot in common, in addition to being close in age! plus, id love to come play with the avery and elise!

I think if we could find that place that Elin wants we would all get along swimmingly. We seem to all be cut from the same cloth.

And if there is any DDA pixiedust remaining, I could use a little. Rumor has it that IBM will be cutting 16,000 world-wide around Jan 23rd. We haven't heard anything specific, so I'm trying not to panic too much (and yet still panicking!). This is one time, I wish we weren't single-income.

Prayers needed for Chuck's mom. She is in the hospital again. It sounds like her meds messed up her system. She will be coming home Friday or Saturday. Chuck is going to go stay overnight with her at least her first night home.

Since I have to head back down here on Sunday and wouldn't get home until Friday night (when Chuck would be gone anyway), I'm just going to stay down here for the week-end. I might go see my mother on Saturday and spend the day with her as she'll be at my aunt's house which is only a couple of hours from here.

Chris and I have dissected all of our livingroom furniture. One chair is now outside though the little critters appear to have died when we had the exterminator her over the summer. I will not take any chances. I've ordered a pesticide and some phermone traps that should remedy the problem. We think that we were probably infested with both the larder beetle and the flour beetle at the same time. Probably a bad bag of pet food though it could have been anything. We noticed the larder beetles as they are larger and were prevailant in the kitchen area. The flour beetles can live on flour dust or even some furniture stuffing materials and they are so tiny you wouldn't even know they are there. Apparently many homes have them and never know it. I'm tempted to throw out all the furniture, but what's to stop new furniture from becoming quickly infected if just one little guy remains. So we will do this right and not make assumptions. I feel like I must be the worst housekeeper in the world, but I swear that I do clean regularly and the entire house has been "spring cleaned" and I mean deep cleaned this year as we've redone 90% of the interior and we have no carpeting other than a few scatter rugs

You are not a bad housekeeper. Bugs happen.

Well, I'm going to try and rest. I never sleep well when Kyle is on call, but at least the alarm won't go off at 4am! Keep your fingers crossed that my girls don't, either!

Wow, it must have been the week for layoffs That is very scary.

The dealership that Chris works for is the only one in the area that hasn't had layoffs, most have had large layoffs. We are hoping that this continues to be the case. They are currently doing an addition which will double the garage area. We are really hoping that they just don't fill those bays until the economy turns around. Chris is pretty high up on the heirarcy, but you never know. I don't think anyone anywhere is truly safe. My restaurant could go under if things continue the way they are We are just thankful that we have jobs and we are trying to pay down all of our bills just in case.
