Speaking of being a party of 3, I have been practicing a response in the event the Uncles spring a trip confirmation on me at some point in the next 7 months. It goes like this:
"Since we will only be taking one trip in 2009 we have determined that we need to designate some of the days to be by ourselves - just DH, DS, and me. The other days we will do things as a group with you guys and/or our other friends who will be at WDW that week." I am trying to be clear without being rude. Thoughts? :confused3

I think that's a marvelous way to put it!!

My Wish for You in 2009

May peace break into your house and may thieves come to steal your debts.
May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet of money.
May love stick to your face like Vaseline and may laughter assault your lips!
May your clothes smell of success like smoking tires, and may happiness slap you across the face and may your tears be that of joy.
May the problems you had forget your home address! In simple words ............

May 2009 be the best year of your life!!!

"Do One Thing Each Day That Makes You Happy"

"It is better to remain silent and to be though a fool then to open your mouth and remove all doubt"

I talked to Bob this afternoon and discovered that Kristin and I had no place to sleep when we go to Punxsutawney tomorrow!

So, I called the one hotel in town and booked us a room. My great uncle built this place in 1888 and I worked as a waitress here in HS and college; my boss from way back then is now the owner. Should make for an interesting stay. If we are lucky we might get either Bill Murray's or Harold Ramos' room from their visit back in 1992. :teeth:

The Pantall Hotel

glad you knew ahead of time. What a beautiful hotel.

Tia I got your card today. It was in an envelope from the post office the envelope was torn in 3 pieces the back, my address and the stamp. as well as the card.

We've been having a great time at WDW. It's incredibly crowded, and though I heard they had cancellations, it's hard to tell it. We came in early tonight, as we're exhausted. I'm sitting here DISing and listening to music from the lobby. Not a bad way to end the day. :)

What an awesome way to end the day:goodvibes

Yay for the kids coming home early!! Will XH expect you to trade out another day with him, or does he just forfeit?
No forfeit, but they are just staying with me tonight. I'll drop them back at his place on my way to work tomorrow. Here's hoping he has to go in tomorrow too! :thumbsup2 :wizard: Honestly, if he wants extra time with them I don't object. Unless it is for overnight during the schoolweek, or my weekends. If he wants to come take them out for dinner or a movie, spend some hours with them, go for it. The problem is that that NEVER happens. He wants them during the holiday because he knows it's important to me, and he has a right to them, like they are property. :sad2:

Two pieces of good news for our family so far today:

Kristin has tomorrow and Wednesday off... she will go with me.

Kathrin was offered a job! She is waiting to hear from two other companies but this is the one she was hoping to get. She would like a little more money than they are offering, but is hoping that her references and background check reveal that she is worth more without having to ask for it. She will make a final decision on Friday! FINALLY!
:cool1:  :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2:

Tia your card arrived here today too. It was in a USPS envelope with a note that it arrived opened. I think what she meant was that the card is whole, but the envelope in totally shredded. I'm suprised that the evelope and card weren't separated along the way.
Mine came today too, in an envelop from the post office. All that was there was the front of the envelope that had my address on it. No card, no back to the envelope.

We didn't receive Tia's card at all, so I'm assuming:

a) She didn't think I was worthy of a Christmas card :teeth:

or

b) My jerk of a mailman is hoarding it with all the other things he delivers way past the "please deliver by" dates and my Entertainment Weeklys that used to always arrive on Saturday, but now we're lucky to see them by Tuesday, because I swear he reads them and he's still mad that I didn't shovel the ice off the steps last winter when I was pregnant and Kevin was out of town

or

c) Our card was shredded beyond recognition

we can rule out A completely so I am going to say C based on everybody else's card problems.

How did your day go, Theresa? Spend any fun time with the girls?

nope...

I went and picked up my prize package....we are in a SUITE for the Av's game:cool1: and the best part is that it came under the reporting for tax purposes limit by $5 so I don't have to pay taxes on it!!:thumbsup2 ETA: here's where we will be on the 29th! http://www.pepsicenter.com/suiterentals/suites.asp

Then I went to my interview with the staffing agency. It's a little one...2 employees but I have confidence in the lady. Even with my crappy keyboard I am typing at 37 WPM and I passed all the other tests with the accuracy I needed or expected...espescially since they were testing on an antiquated Windows Office Suite and didn't allow for shortcuts. :headache:

I picked this up last night http://www.hamiltonbeach.com/openstation-can-openers-open-station-can-opener.html with some of my birthday money (yes, my birthday is in July....my sister just sent a gc) I had a crappy old opener that saw it's better days about a decade ago. But it took 6 stores to find that one...who knew can openers were such a big Christmas present??

at the end of my interview I could hear It's a Small World in my brain....the interviewer grew up and went to Littleton High School and knows one of my old co-workers(and doesn't like him). :lovestruc

It was really good that I took that darn call. The internet was down, the fax machine needed attention and there was one other problem that only I could fix. So I went in for a few hours, fixed everything, and made my co-workers very happy. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Well, the virus made it's way to NE Ohio. Bob was up at 2am this morning and has slept all day long on the couch. I'm trying to wake him up for dinner, but would rather he sleep off his 100.5 degree fever. He has been keeping the fluids in though, so if he does get up, I have soup ready.
:wizard: that he feels better soon and that you don't get it!

Maybe not quite so to the point. Something a little softer like, "We love spending the time with you, but we would still like some days to be just 3somes." Maybe on days that you plan for 3somes, you could still meet up for a meal. Or is that still too much?

I'm glad she was able to get you a room!

Marci glad you are all having a great time!
Me too!

What a nice lady. Maybe they should give you another full day off in repayment;)

I get to go pick up my kids! Their dad got called into work, so they get to come home with me tonight! YAY! Talk to you later.

Elin - if you're gone before I get back on here, please drive safely. Is Kristin going with you?
Yay for the kids being home!

I don't think it was the people who didn't know where they wanted to eat that resulted in the change. That wouldn't hurt Disney's bottom line. I think the problem are the people that make reservations 180 days out and change them at 150 days, and then change them again at 120 days, and then again at 90 days, ... I read about this all the time on the DIS and I can't imagine that it is cost effective for Disney. Can you imagine how much that costs Disney when you consider they have the CM on the phone for 10-15 minutes every time someone wants to make one change?
Oh. You mean Elizabeth.

When will you know something?

I have no motivation to create autograph books for our trip. I was even looking at Ebay to see if I could buy something premade.
