DDA Chapter 16

Anne Marie - what's the weather in NYC like around mid Feb.? I'm having fleeting thoughts of a President's weekend trip.

:woohoo: Mine came last week and my package info came yesterday. I'm so not ready. I'm trying to decide what I can reasonably make for Lizzy. I wanted to do matching bowling shirts for her & Halley. I got some really cool Laurel Burch jungle fabric. I was also going to make them outfits for dinner-we're going to California Grill. I wanted to do a simple Mickey head applique on a long sleeve T with some sort of Hawaiian fabric for arrival at Poly. I wanted to make myself a blouse and a quilted jacket. I've got just over 4 weeks and Joe & Emma birthdays are before the trip. OH...and I need some sort of autograph book for her-she said she still wants one. AND...I want to make a photo calendar before Jan is over.
I haven't even started sewing for this trip yet!:scared1:
I don't think I will be making that many outfits this time around. I only have a couple of ADRs scheduled this time. We are going to take our time and enjoy some of the things we don't seem to have time for.
I still want to make an autograph book too and do a few tshirts for our trip.
I guess I better get busy!

Elizabeth, sorry to hear about Susan and her family. Lots of prayers and pixie dust to them

Deb, sorry that Chris got the sickies too! This virus has been really bad this year. I am glad that Leighanna is better now.
I hope that we can all stay healthy for our trip! :fingerscrossed

I'm glad you found time to figure it out. You must finally be feeling better?

I am still coughing and my nose is still running. But I am feeling better. Today is the last day of my antibiotic, so I may end up calling the doctor on Monday depending how I feel.

I think I am gonna go out and brave the stores. I need to find a case for my ipod. The one I got on xmas day was broken. I returned it yesterday. They had none for my ipod. Then again there were like 4 people standing there looking at cases. They must be a popular item. So I need to check some other places.

I will probably also stop at the library and get some movies.

We've brought in hospice for my Grandpa.

Anybody want a visitor next weekend? I have been seriously thinking about going away somewhere. I even have been looking at Florida. Although given current things I probably should not go anywhere.

:wizard:

I've got another load of laundry washing and one in the dryer. I've fed the kids lunch and now all is quiet. Chris is napping and I plan to be soon too. I do need to run out later as I need to return some dvds and exchange Nick's winter boots. Hopefully it won't be too busy out later.

I don't think that we are going now. There is dense fog now, rain later this afternoon, freezing rain this evening turning to snow tonight and tomorrow. I'm feeling very guilty because I found out that we were supposed to go yesterday morning to help her shop. Chuck and I had a lack of communication so I didn't realize he had worked that out with her. I had told him I could leave at 10am as long as I had my blackberry. He never told me he had anything worked out with her and I forgot I had told him that.

oh no!!

I hope it works out.

Kristine - Glad you guys are hanging in there!

Tia - Welcome home!

Good thoughts and prayers are needed for my friend Susan. She called me Christmas Eve to say her dad is not doing well, but he is holding his own. I just got a call from another one of our nanny friends that Susan's MIL & FIL have been in a car crash in Austin, and her FIL will not survive. :sad1: Susan's DH is very close to his dad, so this is just a terrible time for them.

oh my!! I am so sorry to hear that. Prayers and good thoughts are headed that way!!

you can come to Colorado.

I am sorry to hear about your grandpa:hug:

If you were visiting someone and you lived locally and with capable roommates, and had a puppy that - every time she comes - bites people, steps on babies faces (repeatedly), pees all over the carpets, etc..... would you take them without invitation?!

No, I wouldn't either. :headache:  :sad2: My grandmother is the same way (this is my SIL coming with her obnoxious dog that otherwise stays home just fine except when she comes here). I don't know about you, but I don't know WHY people think it's ok to bring disruptive pets (or any, really!) on a local visit unless you were asked/told to. It just blows my mind! And this dog, while cute, is just not trained enough to be here! I am not a crazy protective mom (by any means... ask Amy ;)) but this infuriates me.

Thanks for letting me vent :rotfl: I'm sure I'll be back, the weekend is still young.........

:rotfl: :rotfl:

I wouldn't ever, ever bring an animal even long distances without a specific invitation.

I just took one of 4 employment placement tests....and I am going to shoo the rest of my family out for awhile later today to finish the others.

I would love any spare pixie dust on Monday that this agency is able to place me quickly.

You do not bring animals uninvited to someone's home. That is just so wrong on so many levels. Is she too comfortable with you so blind or trying to make a statement that she is in control?

You have all kinds of prayers & pixiedust: from the U.P.

I would NEVER bring a pet uninvited to someone's house! While a pet might be fine in it's own environment, they act totally different around strange surroundings. Peeing, barking, scared, excited, out of control. Believe me I know this from experience when my brother brought his new puppy over when Leighanna was a baby! I urged them to put it in its carrier and put it in the garage. I am a pet lover, but sheez, you cannot socially visit in a calm and respectful manor with a wild animal running amuck!
I hope that things calm down for you soon!
