Good morning

I don't think that we are going now. There is dense fog now, rain later this afternoon, freezing rain this evening turning to snow tonight and tomorrow. I'm feeling very guilty because I found out that we were supposed to go yesterday morning to help her shop. Chuck and I had a lack of communication so I didn't realize he had worked that out with her. I had told him I could leave at 10am as long as I had my blackberry. He never told me he had anything worked out with her and I forgot I had told him that.

So Jennifer what board games did you guys get. I bought us are you smarter then a 5th grader Disney Edition.

You might not have heard of half of them... but you have to understand where we're coming from

My parents, to this day (and then obviously while I was growing up) have an entire room, including 2 walk in closets, of games. I swear, they own every one I have ever seen in stores

Well, some of our favorite nights together are just "game nights", either the two of us or with my family, so we're headed in the same direction ...

Our weather is crazy too. Heavy rain with thunderstorms today, extremely foggy tonight. Should be close to 70 tomorrow.

It was SO foggy last night! I ran to the grocery store and couldn't see 3 feet in front of my car!

I hope the rest of you are doing well, enjoying your days off together and playing with your Christmas toys! :

Kyle's family is here for the weekend, staying in my house (some of them wanted to partake in too many adult beverages to get to Kelly's safely ) so I think my Christmas Spirit just flew far, far away. It should be ok for a while though, the actual "Christmas" together is usually very nice. I just hope they don't stay much longer than breakfast tomorrow morning

Kristine I hope the sewer did not back up! It was very foggy here last night as well, certainly not a good night to be out & about. Right now it is raining & in the 50's.

Things went OK during the night..we stayed ahead of it mostly. One scary moment....we have a finished basement with a door leading to the back yard....well the drain by the door was frozen and water started running under the door....I was a little crazed worrying about my washer & dryer.

Bill has been up since 4 am when the thunderstorm started.....it is supposed to rain all day today. It will be interesting.

Many people I know live near the Des Plaines River......they will be hit the hardest...I think the city is in some form of emergency mode....and will be helping to sandbag.

As long as the sewer holds out.....we will be OK...I can live with the rest. I am sending Jonathan & Christopher to go help sandbag.

I hope you Ohio folks don't get the full brunt of this storm....

It sounds like it could have been worse? I hope the damage you did sustain is easily fixed. I'm sure it was a long night, but it sounds like you were wise to stay ahead of it!

I'm nervous about it as well, hopefully we don't get it. We had SO much water the last few days (several hours of multiple inches/hour) that I'm not sure how much more the systems could take. I'm not sure how they work, hopefully the fact that it's been dry(ish) for the last 12 hours gave them time to catch up, if something else is coming. We aren't supposed to get rain until tomorrow though, which seems like later than I would expect your system to arrive....? Who am I kidding though, I know very little about any of it!

I think the problem stems from the ground being frozen and all the rain just runs off....and between the rain and melting snow, the sewers just can't handle it.

The crews were out opening all the manhole covers to make sure there was no ice.....so at least they should all be open

my weather station gadget keeps beeping saying we are under flash flood warning...Bill said if I don't stop it from beeping he's throwing it out the window.....can you spell

I wish I had people around here to play games with. My family is not big into games. Well unless it involves the Wii. That is what most of the time of Thanksgiving and Xmas was spent doing.
