Kristine - Glad you guys are hanging in there!

Tia - Welcome home!

Good thoughts and prayers are needed for my friend Susan. She called me Christmas Eve to say her dad is not doing well, but he is holding his own. I just got a call from another one of our nanny friends that Susan's MIL & FIL have been in a car crash in Austin, and her FIL will not survive. :sad1: Susan's DH is very close to his dad, so this is just a terrible time for them.

Our ME tags came today!

I can't believe how close our trip is coming up!
I did pull out our suitcases.;)

:woohoo: Mine came last week and my package info came yesterday. I'm so not ready. I'm trying to decide what I can reasonably make for Lizzy. I wanted to do matching bowling shirts for her & Halley. I got some really cool Laurel Burch jungle fabric. I was also going to make them outfits for dinner-we're going to California Grill. I wanted to do a simple Mickey head applique on a long sleeve T with some sort of Hawaiian fabric for arrival at Poly. I wanted to make myself a blouse and a quilted jacket. I've got just over 4 weeks and Joe & Emma birthdays are before the trip. OH...and I need some sort of autograph book for her-she said she still wants one. AND...I want to make a photo calendar before Jan is over.

I'm so sorry.

Good morning...

Elizabeth- Many, many prayers for Susan and her DH. :wizard: :wizard:

Kristine- :wizard: that you all have no further problems.

Tia- Welcome home. You've got us all on pins and needles.

Jennifer- I hope the weekend passes quickly.:wizard:

Tom- :yay: :yay: :yay: for ME tags!!!

Vicki- Sorry you had to cancel your trip, don't beat yourself up though.

Not much on the agenda for today. It's a good thing we canceled our plans for this morning, all of us slept past 8am, the time we would have needed to be on the road. Our laundry is in desperate need of some attention. Eric said he'll wash if I sort, not a bad deal. I don't know what else I am going to do, I am not in the mood for the tv or movies. And I really don't feel like I could concentrate enough to read a book. I'm beyond bored and itching to do something!

oh no! :wizard: and prayers said

:yay: :yay: for more ME tags. I hope you can get done what you want. :wizard:

wow that is a lot on your plate. good luck

Bernadette - Those are some lofty ambitions! Good luck getting it all together! :wizard:

I'm sure the items for me will be the first to come off the list. I can do the Mickey head T in under an hour but I don't have a fabric I want to use. I really should do the bowling shirts because I have the fabric and it is stunning and I don't know when Lizzy will go again for me to make it for her if I don't do it on this trip.

I was feeling lousy yesterday and did nothing. Today I am feeling a lot better. I've started laundry and really need to get Joe's Crammer (his "big" Santa gift) loaded with some tests, flash cards and music.

My friend also gave me parts to make 3 Ginger bread houses and I spent a small fortune on candy for them. I think I might make the royal icing so the kids can do those today. Better late than never???? They will still have fun & I feel like I have to show my friend pictures of the houses though I'm sure she'd understand if we didn't do them but what am I going to do with a grocery bag full of candy?

Thank you for the prayers for Susan's family. It is so sad to think they will probably also lose Susan's dad in the next several months. I thought that's what the call this morning would be. The friend who called, Ro, is a baby nurse. She is the one who watches Princess for me when I am on vacation. She is currently working for clients in NYC so I thought it was odd that she was calling.

Robyn - I hope you can find something besides laundry to do today! :wizard:

Our weather is kind of rainy and gross, so I don't think we'll be doing anything exciting.

I read all of the books I had from the library. The new Sarah Bird "How Perfect Is That?", Jonathan Kellerman "Bones", Jeffery Deaver "The Bodies Left Behind". They were all pretty good. I thumbed through my '09 Unofficial Guide. Seems like I had other books on request but now I can't remember what they are.

Bernadette - Well, if it is a grocery bag full of GOOD candy you can eat it. But if it is gingerbread house candy like gum drops and Twizzlers then you should make the houses. ;)

check out the fog from my deck

Wow, I can relate. Whenever the temperatures rise and the snow begins to melt we get that dense fog. Often you can't see five feet in front of you and that can often be while driving   Good luck with the water control. We've relandscaped around our house to move the water away. Last year Chris had over a foot of water in his shop several times, this year it has been dry, even with all the rain we've gotten.

Woo Hoo :cool1:  :dance3: :yay: :woohoo:

I can now do the following things again on my laptop.
Run Itunes
Use Firefox
Open and Use Downloaded files

I no longer get messages stating OS Check has stopped working.

All because I finally got rid of all remnants of any Norton and Symnatec products.

I knew what the issue was for awhile, but did not have the time to fix the issues.

I'm glad you found time to figure it out. You must finally be feeling better?

fairly close...about 20 miles west of me

thank you

very strange weather...stay safe!

I'm exhausted

Things went OK during the night..we stayed ahead of it mostly. One scary moment....we have a finished basement with a door leading to the back yard....well the drain by the door was frozen and water started running under the door....I was a little crazed worrying about my washer & dryer.

Bill has been up since 4 am when the thunderstorm started.....it is supposed to rain all day today. It will be interesting.

Many people I know live near the Des Plaines River......they will be hit the hardest...I think the city is in some form of emergency mode....and will be helping to sandbag.

As long as the sewer holds out.....we will be OK...I can live with the rest. I am sending Jonathan & Christopher to go help sandbag.

I hope you Ohio folks don't get the full brunt of this storm....

Wow. That is bad. Try to get your appliances and furniture up on blocks if you can. You seem to be doing a good job of keeping up with it, but you'll feel better if everything is high and dry.

Kristine - Glad you guys are hanging in there!

Tia - Welcome home!

How terrible

Wow, that is way more to do than time to do it. Skip the Hawaiian outfit and pack a lei, find a couple of cute matching outfits on clearance for cali grill, you could always do a quick applique on each to Disneyfy it without spend lots of time. I would totally take advantage of all the post Christmas deals and do less sewing. I know that you enjoy it, but the stress levels aren't worth it and you can sew after the trip. Disney shopping is having sales too. The important thing isn't what you wear, but that you will have a fun and relaxing trip. If you wear yourself down, you are more likely to get sick and we don't want that.

Elizabeth, Susan and her DH's respective families will be in my prayers. What a tough time! :(

Tia, can I ask if your card was a photo card? If it was, can you post a picture? My post office apparently ate all but LITERALLY the front of your envelope... I'm so annoyed! :rotfl: It's as if they ripped off the front with our addresses, and there is nothing left of the envelope or card!

another one down...another one down...another one bites the dust...

Chris is now sick too. The 3 kids seem fine today. I am feeling much better though I've got a lot of sinus pain. That doesn't seem to be related to yesterdays Norovirus stuff. Chris was adamant that he would not get sick...he was wrong and I've been pointing that out all morning ;)

We were supposed to go to MIL's today, but that ain't happening. He had called her last night to warn her that the kids and I had been sick so it wasn't a total suprise when I called her this morning to tell her that Chris was sick. (He didn't want to talk to her  ) She must have been waiting for us to come over to ask Chris to pick up a Washer and Dryer for her. Of course it needs to be picked up in a town south of us and it needs to be done before the 1st :sad2: Had Chris known yesterday he could have gone to get them. I have no idea when he will have time now :confused3

My goal for the day is to conquer the laundry piles. I can't believe how fast laundry piled up. I even managed to do a load yesterday. I have a feeling that I will be spending some time napping today too. I've been up for a couple of hours and I'm already exhausted. It's amazing how illness can just wipe the energy right out of you.

That is so horrible. They will all be in my prayers.

It seems that there has been an awful lot of bad befalling our family and friends. :wizard: that it turns around soon.

Shopping!

That's what I'm getting ready to do. Too bad Elin isn't around. I have lots of free time. :rolleyes1
