The Boston Children's Museum has $1 admission on Fridays after 5 PM. That sounds perfect. We can go to the 1 PM Disney on Ice Show, find something to eat then go to the museum. I need to decide weather to ride the T or drive into Boston. I think the T may be easier as it has a stop at both locations. Tia...Help. Of course you've probably already headed to California.

Debbie do you have the oreo truffle recipe handy? Anyone?

All you do is crush a pack of oreos really fine, blend in one pack of cream cheese, roll them into little balls, and dip them in chocolate almond bark. We drizzle a little white almond bark on them after they are done to make them more festive. We also place the finished balls in the frig to get really cold before dipping them.

Easy

Deb it does sound like you might be in the early stages. Maybe a visit to the Dr. could help confirm this for you. Glad you made it home safely!

Jennifer I looked in one store & then I forgot to look elsewhere, sorry :flower3: I do see a few of the pink rangers on Ebay though.

They have pink power rangers available on Amazon.com.

I have my Disney on Ice tickets purchased and printed :cool1: Now we have plans for the day after Christmas :cool1: It will be nice to have a fun day while the kids are out of school. Chris already had the day off so it works really well for us :thumbsup2

I got home after 2am from the party last night. The roads were not that bad, but it was precipating when I came home. It was at the house of the General manager for our local minor league baseball team. They had a hypnotist and some other fun stuff.

We hardly got any snow, mostly ice. We are supposed to have more snow/sleet/freezing rain tonight into tomorrow.

Hope you are all doing well!

Before I go, I need to ask for some help. I have been on the road so much that I have not taken the time to pick up my depression medication. I'm doing ok because I am constantly moving because of the job. However, I'm not doing as well as I could be. Please follow-up with me to make sure I've picked it up by Monday. Thanks!

Do you have the option to have it mailed to you? Or is it one of the controlled meds, where that is not an option.

Either way pick up your meds on Monday. Please

Yup. That's all there is to it! I like to top mine with some crushed peppermint candy, or Christmas sprinkles to give them a festive look. I found some red and white coarse decorating sugar and that looked so good on the truffles. I haven't made any of those this year. I'm hoping to be able to get some lemon truffles done, but I may not get to them. We'll see.

Just remember when they say Splash zone they are not kidding! :lmao: We found out the hard way in San Antonio, killed my new camera too.

I always sat way up front in the splash zone at the Shamu show and did not get wet. But I knew exactly where to sit so I would not.;) But I have not seen the new show, so this may no longer be the case.

Wow! What a great party!!!

My sweet sixteen was anything but! My parents forgot it was my birthday. I didn't say anything, as I figured that they were going to surprise me with a party. However, there was nothing for me. By the end of the day I was upset, but didn't say anything. Too angry, and I wanted them to remember on their own.

I went to bed, and when I got up in the morning, I guess they'd remembered. On the dining room table was a homemade cake, and a branch from a tree, in a bucket of plaster, spray painted white, with 16 one dollar bills clothespinned onto it. That was it! They never acknowledged that they missed my birthday. I will say, though, that the guilt from that day has been awfully good throughout the years.

I now spend a lot of time reminding people of my birthday. I guess I'm still a little bitter about it.

You poor thing! I never could have kept as quiet!

That's handy!

It was! She was Mrs. Claus last night, so we got to thank her... it was a lot of fun!

We're actually going June 1-5 to Disneyland. However, we're leaving our house in May, to drive down there. We'll take a couple of days to do that.

Nope. No deal like that for us. My dad is taking the whole family. He and mom started doing this 17 years ago. We weren't sure he'd want to go this year, as Disneyland was a very special place to he and my Mom. However, he wants us to go and celebrate mom's life, but enjoying her favorite place. It will be a bittersweet trip, but a fun one as well.

Last Christmas, my siblings and I gave mom and dad a brick in the plaza at Disneyland. It was installed in May, and dad drove mom down so they could see their brick. It was the last trip mom ever took. I'm so glad that we did that before she died. It was their favorite gift ever. So, we are all looking forward to seeing their brick and going on her favorite rides, and having her favorite snack (large, soft pretzel).

 Hopefully the sweet will at least outweigh the bitter....

i LOVE funfetti (is that horrible or what?!) Sounds like a great 16th birthday party!

Not at all horrible! :)

I was right. My insurance claim was denied. Next time I will know to drench the entire basement in water. It seems that if the pump overflows a bit, but then the foundation leaks AROUND the house, which is what happened, it's not covered. But if the pump overflows soaking the ENTIRE room, then it would be covered. Does that make sense?

That stinks!

Jennifer - those babies are sooooo cute and BIG! I wish I could reach right into my computer and hold them!

Janet - how scary. Those poor firemen.

Jennifer - loved all the pictures. They look so little to be so grown up. :goodvibes What fun Christmas morning will be!

Janet - how scary to be wakened that way this morning. I am glad thye got the fire under control

They are getting so big! Well, apparently they're still little, but are getting very "grown up", as Elin put it! :goodvibes

My boss' DH gave this to me for Christmas. He said I "just had to have it" and so he bought it. :rotfl2:

It tells the first part of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas and rocks back and forth. I am trying to make a video of it for you all but for some reason my video is not in focus at all! :confused3

How cute!

the BoardWalk!

Aww, I missed it! Less than 3 months, and I can see it in person! (FINALLY.......)

Oh, he "saw" it but he didn't LOOK at it.

Ok, I completely understand that! :rotfl2:

Ahh, as do most of us women, I'm sure!

MyBob and Bethany left today for WV to visit his mom. They'll be back Tuesday. I get the whole weekend with just the kids and I. I think we will do some cookie baking.

That sounds like a wonderful plan!

I know that I received an email, but can't remember where it came from. It had tickets to Disney on ice in Boston for Friday December 26 for $10 pp. I was going to buy tickets, but now I can't remember where I saw it :confused3 I thought I saved the email, but I guess not.

Ours are almost always $10 for opening night.

So this may sound like a strange question, but is 39 years old too young to be starting menopause? Here's my thinking.

Emotional
moody
forgetful
definite change in hormones
changes in monthly cycle

I totally feel like I'm out of whack lately. I cry at the drop of a hat, good or bad. I have never in my life been so forgetful as I have over the last couple of months. Oh, lets not forget hot flashes. I've always been cold natured, but lately there are times that I want to throw the windows open. I really notice it at night. I can go from freezing to tossing covers off several times during the night. I'm also having more difficulty sleeping.

Maybe I'm crazy or maybe I'm going start early :confused3

It's not that early, really... I mean, on the earlier side, but not so much so that it would be surprising. That being said, my mom seemed to go through spells where she thought she was somewhat perimenopausal, and still hasn't arrived there at 44.... so my guess is (from zero personal experience) it can "come on" sort of slowly........ :confused3

ETA: As Tammi mentioned, her symptoms have come and gone.... on more than one occasion, though! So hopefully it's not a full decade you have to dread! ;)

Jennifer could you please send me the invite to the document?

It says you're already able to view it... do you just need the link again?

Good morning, DDA!

(I'm going to WDW tomorrow!)

Hooray! Have a wonderful trip!

I have my Disney on Ice tickets purchased and printed :cool1: Now we have plans for the day after Christmas :cool1: It will be nice to have a fun day while the kids are out of school. Chris already had the day off so it works really well for us :thumbsup2

That will be a perfect event for the day after! :yay:

We had a great time last night, albeit a much longer night than we had planned! I will try and post pictures at some point, but I have to work on a few things while the girls are sleeping.

I hope you're all having a great weekend! :goodvibes

Well, we are checked in and boarding passes are printed. There is a flight that leaves at 1:51 instead of 3:05. We will try to fly standby on that one.

I am off to finish my packing and to push Bob some more... Talk to you all later tonight.

I'm hoping that I can use this perimenopausal crap as motivation to pull myself together. I need to regain control of my weight, find some sort of exercise that I can enjoy (or at least stick with) and figure out what I want to be when I finally grow up.

For now I get to get ready to be a cocktail waitress :upsidedow

Have a great trip. I sure wish I was going too. Sunny florida sounds heavenly right about now.

We went to the grocery store, which wasn't that bad. My menu has now changed from prime rib to ham. Then we went to get Nicholas' hair trimmed. Guess who decided she wanted her hair cut while we were there. It was VERY traumatic for me to let Rene cut all that hair off, AND give her bangs, but I survived. She has to live with it, right? Plus it will grow back, right? It's supposed to come to points in the front, but we need to work with it a bit. This was with my cell camera, so not the best quality.

Oh and a package came from Terra for Alyssa. She loves the Chip and Dale ornament. Thank you so much! I'll post pictures later.
