DDA Chapter 16

I was at work by 5 am this morning & our truck was 3 1/2 hours late due to the weather. Usually if they are running late they call, but not today! So I waited & waited, made for a very long day. I got home around 3:30 this afternoon & fell out.

I need to fix our dinner here shortly & do a few things for tomorrow. At the moment I am just kicking back.

Tammi sorry to hear you are now sick. I would skip mass and just rest.

Chanon I with the others another look can't hurt. Hope you find it. :wizard:

Today is Dawn's 40th birthday, but we didn't do anything.
The weather is crap so I decided to wait until spring, however she is getting an iPod for Christmas so that should make up for it.

I already have dinner for tomorrow ready to go in the oven.

Tammi, oh no!!! I hope yours is super short-lived, and you are feeling at least somewhat better by tomorrow! :guilty:

Guess what my kids gave me for Christmas!!!!!!

The norovirus!!!!!!!

I was up at 3 AM with it. So much for our big Christmas Eve breakfast and dinner. Thankfully Bob came over anyway and watched the kids while I slept. I just got out of bed now and am feeling much better, but I'm afraid to eat anything. That seems to be when my kids would have their relapse. I do need to get something in my stomach though. I'm so weak. I'm still debating on whether to go to 8PM Mass tonight. Maybe if I get a shower I'll feel better.

Deb - I'm so sorry about the bike issue.

Chanon - I agree, go look one more time. Does he keep his locker locked? Could someone have stolen it?

:scared1: :scared1: Oh No:scared1: :scared1: I'd say to give Bob a big hug from all of us for helping you, but maybe you should give it to him in a day or two :rolleyes1

Channon when can you go look? I hope you find it. :wizard:

Jennifer did you send Denise an invite to the DDA list?

We left here and checked our mail. The items from Disney Shopping arrived. That meant only the bike was missing. We drove to UPS and got there around 2:30 wouldn't you know that they are only open from 4 - 6 PM. So we headed to my parent's house. We had decided to give the boys their cameras as we wanted them to be able to use them tomorrow. They were so happy to have them. They eached loved the one that I selected for them and thought it was special that they were all different. They spent quite a bit of time opening and examining the accessories. I even got a few hugs. They know that it is their big gifts and were happy to be able to use them for Christmas. We were then totally suprised when my brother showed up. His inlaws are staying with them over the holidays and his wife was adamant that they had plans for Christmas Eve. Turns out they were going to cook spaghetti and hang out at home. He grabbed the kids and joined us instead. I'm not sure how that will go over, but my Mother was thrilled. I left my Mom's in time to arrive at UPS at 4. Of course there was already a line of people searching for their own lost packages. While I was waiting in line my phone rang and it was UPS calling me. I told him I was in the lobby so he came down to talk to me. Apparently on his way to the lobby he happened upon our missing box :rolleyes1 The box had been damaged, well destroyed during shipping so they had set it aside to return to the bicycle company. With a little begging I got him to open the box (against the rules) and everything appeared intact. He agreed to let me have it and I promised to call him Monday if anything was missing or broken. I was able to call Chris and have him meet me outside. We snuck the box into the basement and he snuck away later and assembled the bike. The rear wheel is a bit warped, but Chris thinks he can adjust the spokes to make it ride true. If not we'll call the company after the holidays and replace the rear wheel. Everything else is perfect. In any event he will have the bike tomorrow :thumbsup2 I made up a story when I got back about how it must be on a truck and they will look for it later, but it probably won't be here in time for Christmas :rolleyes1 We'll call it a Christmas Miracle and in many ways it kind of is.

So all of our gifts have arrived and we had a nice meal with family and a few friends. We had planned to play games, but they couldn't find the remote for the DVD player and all the games I brought had DVDs. It was too noisy to watch a movie so we are watching one now.

Deb, I'm really happy to hear that the missing bike was found. Did that help you catch any Christmas spirit yet?

Deb, glad you found the bike! I hope Chris is able to get the wheel straightened out! :wizard:

DH went off to work and left me to be the UNwilling custodian of the ham. :headache: He said yesterday he didn't think it would cook in time, and he was RIGHT! I had to take it out of the oven, jab it with the thermometer, and then slice off enough to feed DS for dinner. That was the easy part. The hard part was slicing up the rest of it to put it in the fridge! I have one Ziploc bag full of slices, and then I dumped the rest of it (still on the bone) in another bag. The dishwasher is crammed full and it is running. The sink is overflowing with more dishes, the fridge is crammed, and I am trying to make the Jello thing. I have to add mandarin oranges to the Jello in 45 minutes, then pour all of that over the cream cheese part. Of course the Jello is in a HUGE pan and the cream cheese and crust part is in another HUGE pan, so that is making the fridge even more of a debacle. :sad2: I hate the kitchen. Did I mention that? I never should have gone in there yesterday.

I'm feeling a lot less stressed, but not really in the spirit. It's nice to see the kids all excited though Hunter is complaining of a tummy ache. I'm hoping it was too much hot chocolate. Hopefully the kids will go to bed soon.

So I still feel icky. I do feel a bit better but still no way near normal. Then again I was told it would take until tomorrow at a minimum to feel better. I think I am finally fever free after 4 days of a fever.

Everyone else went to the Christmas eve service I stayed home in bed.

I am now watching Mr. Bean's Christmas Episode.

Finally got everything cleaned up after our company. The kids are so excited. They are trying to sleep but I can hear them chattering away.:goodvibes

Goodnight & Merry Christmas!

Deb - glad the bike arrived!!!!

Becky - I'm glad that you are finally feeling better.

I'm doing okay. No other episodes, and I've been sipping on water and ate a banana. Nicholas seems to be much better, but poor Alyssa can't shake it. Everytime she eats something she throws up. I think her poor little body is so weak from no nutrition. Plus I've got the blues about them leaving tomorrow afternoon. They don't want to go. Alyssa called her father and asked if she could stay home until Friday, then go to his house. Of course his answer was no, bribing her with presents, yada yada yada. Then she gets mad and hangs up on him. I thought that was great! I'll have to remember to ask him how it feels to get hung up on by a 6 yr. old. I feel so bad for them. I wonder at what age the courts take into account the wishes of the child? Well, enough of my drama. I don't mean to be a downer. I'm just passing time waiting for the kids to get to sleep.

Merry Christmas.

My brother just called. He is setting up his webcam. He will call me back shortly once it is done installing. Then we'll have a live chat. I can't wait to see Billy, my nephew. :lovestruc

  I'm sorry that things are so tense with your ex. I didn't realize that the kids don't want to spend time with him.

:cool1: :cool1: That sounds very exciting

We're tracking Santa and his is in Canada. Hunter is trying to get everyone in bed, but Nick and Chris are watching the Dark Night and don't want to go :headache:
