DDA Chapter 15

I have a totally petty question....please give me honest opinions.

Without going into all the LONG and tedious details...there is an estrangement between us and Bill's oldest son. Bill is not willing to meet their demands to change the situation so we are in a state of limbo I'd say. Somehow I have a feeling that this has turned into me being the wicked stepmother....even though I have encouraged Bill and reached out to them myself...so now I am just pi$$ed to be honest,

ANYWAY.....today a Christmas card came in the mail. Addressed to Bill Najdowski & family. Not Mr. & Mrs.....not Bill & Kristine & family....

DO I HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE ANNOYED BY THAT? or am I thinking too much?

Was it hand addressed?

I'm sitting here trying to superglue a Goofy ornament back together courtesy of Hurricane Matty. He and Alyssa both managed to break one as we were unpacking the Disney ornaments today. It's all part of the experience! :teeth:

Shoot, I just broke off another part of Goofy as I was trying to secure the first broken piece! Serves me right for multi-tasking! :rotfl:

The question is... are the kids excited about the tree and the ornaments?

I couldn't quit thinking about prime rib, so I put an order in for one today, I will pick it up on the 24th(this way I don't have to freeze it). It was on sale for $6.99 a lb., I just couldn't resist.

Thanks for the suggestions though!

That was a great price, Janet! :thumbsup2

Tammi and I met at Bonefish Grill for an early dinner. We had a wonderful time (as usual). I consider myself very lucky to have found a close-by friend through you all. :goodvibes

Elizabeth, put your tree up and enjoy it!! :goodvibes If mine can survive all the daycare kiddos and Mo and Lucy, surely yours will survive the cats. Our ornaments have been up about 2 hours and Lucy has already knocked off several. But I can't imagine a Christmas without a Christmas tree.

hmmmm....I'd be annoyed but more at the fact that there was an estrangement and they sent a card (but I am odd like that)

Things change drastically in 15 years, my friend. What is important now might not be then. Put up the tree. Enjoy it sans ornaments if you want, but enjoy having the tree up with your DH and DS.

listen to the sage, Elizabeth!!

Absolutely! :goodvibes

BTW, Alyssa didn't say a word about Santa. I thought she was really scrutinizing Mrs. Claus (a friend from church), but later when I asked her about the experience, she said Mrs. Claus was old, not like the young "Miss Jessica" from Santa Claus is Coming to Town! :rotfl:

I agree 100% with Elin. My aunt loves yellow glass dishes. She has some wonderful pieces. They hide in the cabinet because she is saving them for a "special" day. In my opinion, she is special and they should be used at every meal just because of that.

Which reminds me, we've never used our wedding china! :rolleyes1

Chuck is grilling Prime Rib on Monday for my team (well until I took the Acting position in Lansing anyway). It is our gift to them. I also give them all $25 each so they can buy something special for themselves.

When we had cabinets that didn't reach all the way to the ceiling, I would take old newspapers and place those on top of the cabinets. Every 6 months, I would replace them. No more scrubbing away the greasy dust!

My mother put saran wrap on the top of my fridge about 6 months ago with the same idea. Chuck just asked me to "remove that awful stuff off the top of the fridge." :lmao:

I thought she was a little young for it to start. Most kids like the "magical" aspect and don't scrutinize too early. I'm glad to hear that she didn't yet.
