Thanks, Robyn, I will. And happy birthday to Emma!

Both kids are in bed. I don't think they are sleeping yet, though.

Nicholas LOVED his room. I covered his eyes and guided him to it. When I let him see it he gasped and exclaimed "It' beautiful!" He kept going around in circles, taking it all in and saying "it's awesome, it's so cool!"
I guess that means he likes it. :confused3

Then he wondered if it would feel any different sleeping tonight. Same bed, goofy.

Of course it will feel different as the surrounding have changed, not to mention he is all excited about your trip

Why is it that an almost 9 lb turkey barely is enough to feed us?? It's not like hamburger and shrinks...I think somebody's scale was off.

There is a lot of waste in Turkey, with the bones and the innerds and all.

Well, I'm in bed. But I'm sure I won't be sleeping for awhile. Alyssa has already been up twice. She can't sleep either. I'll get them up at 5:30 and plan to hit the road at 6. I've got baggies of Apple Jacks and bottles of milk ready for them to take in the car. I think everything is done. I just need to throw together my bathroom stuff after I use it all in the morning. I can't believe it's finally time.

And a week from now our plan will be landing back home. :( :( :(

But you are going to have an amazing week. Try to relax and take it all in.

Mom and Diva are on their way back to Ms. Selfish's. DS is sad. He didn't want her to go.

We had a nice dinner. Mom ate really well, so I was pleased about that.

She and DS exchanged the "Grandma" and "Grandson" ornaments. I was a little surprised that she had his ornament when she got here this morning.

Mom looks pretty good. I can tell that her hand is swollen. Diva told her to prop it up in the car for the ride over here but she wouldn't. She has no hair, no eyebrows, and I don't think she has eyelashes. But she seems OK. I think she is a little nervous about the "mega dose" of chemo next Thursday. I am nervous about it.

I had a decent day with Diva. We really didn't talk about much. I was ready to call it a day after the first mall and all the other stores, but she really wanted to go to the Galleria. It was a ZOO. Not so much inside, but the parking was crazy.

I'm glad that your mother showed up as promised and she remembered his ornament  I'm sure that means a lot to both of them. It is also nice that Diva wanted to spend the entire day with you. I'm sure she leans looks up to you, even if she doesn't always show it.

We have completed both of our trees. The look terrific. I can't fathom how we had all of those ornaments on one tree :confused3 There is still room on the Disney tree for more. It will be nice adding to it over the years. The kids were so excited tonight. We didn't even take the ornaments off the kids room trees and those are mostly Disney ornaments. I wonder if the kids will end up moving them in here or if they will keep the small trees in their rooms. They really don't do anything with the little ones, I'm not sure they even turn the lights on :confused3 Of course we haven't brought those up yet.

I guess I'll work on Christmas cards now. It is nice to pick away at some of the little projects.

I'm glad you all had a good day, and it seems that you were pleasantly surprised by your mom's behavior, showing up and having the ornament for DS. :wizard: for the mega dose.

I'm going to read for a bit and try to get some sleep. I'll check in in the morning before we head out. Goodnight all!

Tammi in case I miss you in the morning, see you soon :goodvibes

Elizabeth glad to hear the day went well with your mother & that she is doing as good as can be expected. :wizard: for the next treatment!

Tammi, I'm very jealous of the wonderful trip that you and the kids are going to have. Stop worrying about a week from now and think about NOW!!!!

Thanks for the good wishes for Mom's chemo. :)

I will have to watch the airfare and see when I can take DS up to visit Mom. I guess I should see how she is feeling once the radiation is underway.

SOME of us don't get to go to WDW this December. Not only that, but some of us have to stay home AND not have a Christmas tree because of the evil cat! :rolleyes1

I never, ever thought I would have to do what Marci said about writing things down about Jim but we hit a turning point. He just threatened that he didn't want me to have the girls. :headache: I am trying very hard to be nice but that just turned a page and I just told him so.

Nicholas' "new" room.

WOW!!! I'm not surprised to hear he loves it. Have an awesome trip! Hope Nicholas has a magical birthday!

Well, it is probably an ornament, along with Elizabeth's (?) sunglasses!
Those would be my sunglass clips that I still haven't found-I don't even wear those glasses anymore but they were in a Mickey case.:sad2:

We are a little more than 5 and a half hours from home and the plan is to get there by 2am. I managed to drive 3 hours so hopefully Eric will be fine for the remainder of the trip. I am hoping to catch some zzz's once we get the girls wound down so if I need to drive an hour or so I can. At this point, I just want to be home in my bed!!
Drive safe!

Much to my surprise she DID show up. Without calling first. She took DS out for awhile. I took Diva to 2 malls and 2 shopping centers so she could buy exactly 2 things from stores she has at home. Whatever. We are all going to dinner in a little bit.
Nice to hear she showed up with an ornament and looks better than you expected! Hope things go well for her this week.

Like Deb said there are a lot of bones. We had a 15 pounder. We gave some to my sister but we don't have a lot left over.

Although I had lost touch with them some of my friends from High School their infant son died on Thanksgiving day. He was born in June with a heart defect and had several surgeries in his short life. I can not imagine what they are going through.
So sad.:sad1:

So Virginia got an ornament from one of the Kaufman girls. I want to know where Jennifer found such big ornaments. I love the ornaments. I will try to take pics tomorrow.

Elizabeth,
glad your mom showed up and that her and your son had a good time. Glad you and diva had a nice time shopping. :wizard: that her treatments keep going well.

Robyn -- I'm so sorry about your friend. Sending lots of PD to that family. How tragic!

Tammi --I'm so glad that Nicholas likes his room. I think it looks terrific. I hope you guys have a very Magical trip!

Theresa -- I'm so sorry that you are having so many problems with Jim. Hang in there. As has already been said, we're all behind you!

Elizabeth --I'm glad your Mom and DS got to spend some time together and that you didn't kill Diva. Sending lots of PD for your Mom for her last chemo.

Glynis -- congrats to you, Alan and the rest of your family! I can't wait to see a pic of Timothy.

Here's a big dose of PD and :wizard: for everyone who is sick, or who has family that are sick or in need of prayers and PD.

We had 24 people for lunch/dinner on Thursday, managed to get the Christmas card picture for my Dad's card taken, took flowers/wreaths to the cemetery, made plans for black Friday and watched some of the Texas/Texas A&M game. I got up at 4 yesterday to shop. I got two of the $49 DVD players at Wal-Mart and a few things for other people.

We've decided at work not to exchange gifts with each other and instead buy lugguage for kids in the foster program in Dallas. Most of them have to carry their belongs around in trash bags. I got 10 sets of either duffel sets or luggage that were on sale at Wal-Mart and Sears. The Wal-Mart I went to was crazy. I saw people get in fights over Play-Doh, Power Wheels jeeps, and X-Boxes. If we collect luggage again next year, I'll be sending someone else out for it. It was ridiculously crowded. I got home around 12 and took a nap, then got ready to meet friends for dinner.
