The nurse confirmed what I saw was nits. So I then called the ped. to see if she wanted to see Alyssa. Nope, which is good for me. So I got some lice shampoo, washed and combed her. No bugs, just nits. No other reported cases at school or at daycare. I'm wondering if she got it from Florida. She can go back to school on Monday, but the nurse needs to do a head check first.

Oh, crap. I am so sorry you have to deal with this!
She very well may have picked it up in WDW. Or on the plane.

Kristine - I think you should take the disneyland points! Then you'd have to come out here, and I could meet up with y'all at DL!!!

Things here are gray and icky! We are supposed to get a doozy of a storm either today or tomorrow that will last all weekend long. Alan is home today, so we get to take Timothy to the dr. for his 2 week check up and his circumcision. Yikes! I'm so glad Alan will be there. I just can't watch that!

Gotta run and give the tadpole a bath! Talk later!

Marci-Sent my thank you email first thing this morning Hope today is the turnaround day for braces they are big pain in the mouth (I still have the scars from mine digging into my cheeks)

Glynis-good luck to Timothy (and you)!! Is there a reason that you waited for the 2 week appt??

For those of you complaining about the concerts...I am blessed that we have some PC'ness in the concerts but once we hit High School the director calls them Christmas concerts (but there aren't any religous tunes just TSO and Manheim Steamroller ) and they are definitely Christmas tunes. The band director at the middle school skirts around it by having a fall concert in November...no expectations!! We'll see about the choir director next week. I have a feeling she is extra PC.

The OB/GYN circumcised DS before we were discharged from the hospital, so I wasn't round for the procedure.

Our pediatrician told us we could have it done at the hospital, but we would be charged by the hospital and by him for the procedure, but if we brought him into the office to have it done, it would just be charged as a regular office visit. So, I'll be sitting in the waiting room, while Alan is with Timothy. I just couldn't watch that!

She started out with nits, and then we found a live one about a week later. It seems to be under control right now, but we still put her hair up in a pony, and stress the importance of not hugging or sharing hats or scarves!
Hope you get it under control quickly. And yes, my head itches at the thought of lice! Even though we were checked, we didn't have any!

Make sure you wash all of her bedding and vacuum religiously! Those nits are sticky little things.

I really feel for you! I hope that this passes quickly!

Hmm. It has been WAY too long since we had it done to remember how they billed it. I do remember them telling me that an OB/GYN is more of a "surgeon" than a pediatrician so that's why the OB/GYN did the circumcision.

Brother had the ceremonial Jewish circumcision on the living room sofa. I am kind of glad I wasn't there for that! They had the special guy come in to do it of course, but still...

Just got home from Daniel's teacher conference. He got all A+'s!
I spoke with his teachers & he got great reviews. When I told his Social Studies teacher that we were moving she said "I feel like you have stuck a knife in my chest" wow!!! What a reaction! She said Daniel is a catalyst for so much discussion in the class & he brings so much to the dialog. I am so proud of him. I just hope his new public school can keep up with him.

To celebrate his grades we are off to ESPN Zone tomorrow for some much deserved cheese fries & video game playing.

After the conference I went over to Abercrombie to get Katie a shirt, tote bag, & their perfume (which I happen to love) so she is DONE! Sophie is DONE! I just have to get a few things for Daniel & he is DONE! I think a set of baseball cards would be good.

Thanks! Daniel has off more days before the break than the girls so I have technically have 2 days left on my own to wrap so I have to be done.
