Amen to that! I just can't understand the theory given the population of this school and the town for that matter....I have often wondered if they are trying to prove something :confused3

I am in total agreement with you on this, Kristine! I love teaching at a private music school where we can do whatever we want. :teeth: And if one of the students and/or the parents don't wish to celebrate with us they are welcome to leave at the end of class. We have a 10 page packet with Christmas carol lyrics and at the end of every class in December we pull them out, gather 'round the piano and sing up a storm.

Our recitals all include Christmas pieces and most students also play Christmas solos at this series of recitals. I LOVE it! :goodvibes

Speaking of recitals... I have 19 of them starting Monday at 4:00. I better get going this morning and work some more on my programs. I have all the covers designed and printed. I also got four inserts done yesterday. Only 15 more to go!

I also want ot get my Mom's Chex SNAX mix in the oven this morning and start a batch of shortbread this afternoon. I need to run to the store to get the ingredients for my Hidden Valley Ranch Oyster Crackers. That is the extent of my holiday baking/cooking this year. We don't need anything else and I am not going to have it sitting around here calling my name! I think Kristin plans to make the turtles out of pretzels and Rolo candies. Bob plans no culinary escapades.... ;)

See you all later. Enjoy your mornings. :goodvibes

When I was teaching in public schools we were allowed to do CHRISTMAS programs. But, the year that I left teaching those I left behind had to do WINTER programs instead. It was mandated by our school board. It is the same all over our area. There is something intrinsically wrong with this.

yesterday we got a buyer on half of our DVC Wilderness Lodge points!!

Bill is hell bent on buying BLT points..... and I told him that we do not need WLV and BLT....although for a brief moment I did think about keeping both.....but the dues are a killer :scared1::scared1:

how does this happen? :confused3
:confused3 We do not have a diverse school popluation so it must be just PC.

Good luck selling your points.

What I found so interesting.....I was talking about this and I was amazed how people now equate Santa Claus with a Christian Christmas Music.....so somehow "Up on the Housetop" is supposed to satisfy me. Give me Silent Night!!

We're back at Disney follwoing our WonderFul cruise. Somehow we survived the 4 parks in one day challenge. We made it for Mousefest 101, the Chairman's kickoff party, the Dole Whip meet, the TomorrowLand big 3 (really cute COP, Buzz, TTA) We had dinenr last night at California Grill. We had the best table in the house and saw Holiday Wishes. Just awesome.

We are exhausted, but happy. We have a 50's Prime Time meet today that I'm really looking forward to. BUt right now I'm getting ready for teh Animal Kingdom meet. I'm going to jump in the shower, get dressed and then wake up Terry.

I have been away from all internet devices and my cellphone for 4 days!!! It isso nice just to have access again! Woo Hoo!
TTYL,
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

The spa queens
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Too funny! I'm glad that you all are having a wonderful time.

I have a Christmas concert for Jackie this morning at 7 am :scared1: I will say it is my favorite of the 3 kids...it's the only concert where they play actual Christmas music.

I try so hard, but I can't help but get totally aggravated at the grammar school. Kwanzaa song, Jewish folk song, a song about recycling for god's sake but not 1 single Christian song. I am all for equal rights and diversity....even though this school is not diverse AT ALL...but give me a break. Political correctness gone wrong!! Can you tell this is a bone of contention for me :rotfl2:
You aren't the only one! I totally agree!

When I was teaching in public schools we were allowed to do CHRISTMAS programs. But, the year that I left teaching those I left behind had to do WINTER programs instead. It was mandated by our school board. It is the same all over our area. There is something intrinsically wrong with this.
We have Winter Break, not Christmas Vacation. We have a Holiday Tree at work, as well as a Holiday Luncheon. Excuse me but who, other than Christians, get a tree, puts lights, ornaments and tinsel on it? For God's sake, it's a Christmas tree!

Could everyone please send good thoughts and prayers. I am fearful that Alyssa has lice. She was complaining this morning about the back of her head itching, up in the hair line. I've looked and don't see any creepy crawlies, but their could be nits. I'm not sure what I'm looking for so I'm going to take Nicholas to school and take her into the nurse and ask. If it is lice, I think I've caught it in the early stages. Oh it's going to be such a PITA! Tom, can you give me any pointers?

BLT....how wonderful!

I think you should go, too. At least get a confirmation, and then make a decision about whether it stays or goes! :goodvibes

That's great, for her though, that it's fading! I didn't realize many birthmarks faded!

I still haven't decided if I am keeping the appointment or not. DH was kind enough to point out that I have a CRAZY week next week, so we'll see.
Whatever particular type of mark Princess has apparently does go away. :confused3 She has a tiny one on her nose too, that they had to go for a consult about because they were afraid if it got bigger it might obstruct her nostril. Now you can barely see it.

I'm glad you're having a wonderful time! I can't wait to hear more, although it's making me sick with jealous! :rotfl:

Stephanie, I am glad you and Terry are having fun!!

Wow... I am in single digits!

YAY for single digits!! :cool1:

I have a Christmas concert for Jackie this morning at 7 am :scared1: I will say it is my favorite of the 3 kids...it's the only concert where they play actual Christmas music.

7 AM is a rather inhospitable time to have a concert! :scared: DS's is 7 PM next Tuesday. It doesn't sound like they are doing any really traditional Christmas music. At least the band isn't.
So I guess the recycling song is for the Pagans/Wiccans who worship the earth?
I am all about separation of church and state, but a fair representation of multiple religions wouldn't bother me. Maybe they figure since Santa is a Christmas symbol he counts as a Christian? No telling. :confused3

Princess takes ballet through a Christian program. They say a prayer before each class and talk about dance as a way to praise Jesus. So during the observation yesterday they were dancing to an instrumental piece. I leaned over and said to Momboss "Isn't this the DREIDEL song?" She didn't know, but I am sure it was! :rotfl2:

You know what? I found it. It isn't a mole, it's an angioma. It is on my trunk and I am over age 30. All the pieces fit! I feel MUCH better now. I may keep the appointment just to be on the safe side, but I really don't think it is anything to panic about! :)

Don't even think twice about cancelling your doctor's appt. on Monday. Go to the doctor to make sure.

Deb -- that is terrific news about the bike!

Theresa -- contact the person thanking them for the interview, and reiterating that you think the job sounds very interesting and you are excited about the opportunity.

Elin -- that is terrific news about Kathrin's unemployment arriving.

Robyn -- sending PD for Eric's work.

Not bad at all. The only problem that I had is the cosmetic issue. It was on my shoulder, and about the size of a dime before I went and had it checked. So they numbed it and cut it out, then did what they call a purse strap suture. The shoulder moves every direction so the incision stretched as it healed. Now I have a lovely scar the size of a quarter. I tell everyone it's my gunshot wound. ;) For the longest time I refused to wear anything sleeveless. Then I got over it and now I just don't care. That's it. That was the treatment.

That's how they did mine, except they cauterized it instead of using stitches. That was more than 6 years ago, and the scar has faded significantly.

Is anybody else really disturbed that the Bachelor has a child, and they are dragging him through this process? Maybe they shielded him from all the wanna-be mommies, but I still find it patently WRONG to subject a child (a THREE YEAR OLD) to something like that. If I was his mother I would be apoplectic. I hate that show, and now I hate it even more, but I may be forced to watch to see how they made sure the little boy was not traumatized. I might have to write a really nasty letter.

I knew they would pick him next. He's seems like a great guy. I'm also very certain they thought about public perception, if not what it would do to the child, before they did it, at least I would hope so. I admit it -- I watch the train wreck if I'm home when it's on. :rolleyes1

That is terrific news.

Andrew is still very miserable and he's barely eating, but we did manage to get mashed potatoes and ice cream down him last night. Hopefully today will be the turn around day. He definitely doesn't need to lose any more weight. We finished gettind Dad's cards ready to go last night, and I started wrapping.

I hope to get the rest of my wrapping done tonight. We have three basketball games tomorrow, need to take the Forgotten Angel gifts Andrew got at his birthday party by the Salvation Army, and we have Randy's company Christmas party tomorrow night.

Have a great day DDA!

I am back from the concert..it was very nice. Kids played, parents sang. ALL traditional Christmas music with one medley, Santa Meets Sousa, which was very good!!

I hope it is not lice!:scared1:
We would get rid of it on our end, only to have it reappear again. We haven't seen any signs of it for a month now, hopefully we won't ever again!
Leighanna is such a hugger, and even though I told her no more hugs, I caught her at school giving hugs to her friend.
Once I engraved in her mind the importance of not hugging, not to mention the laborous treatment to get rid of the problem, she has been lice free.
At least for the moment.

Most lice are very resistant to OTC treatments. You have to physically get in there with a metal lice comb and a thick conditioner to strip the nits out of the hair. We even used a magnifying glass to check her hair strands. It was a nightmare!
Again, I hope it is not lice! If it is, be prepared to put up with it for at least a month of constant checking!
