DDA Chapter 14

We headed to the mall this morning as there was supposedly a great sale at JcPenney...not so great but I got the girls fuzzy socks for Christmas.

There, Abi told me she had lost her heavy winter coat (an $80 down coat) so we headed over to Steve & Berry's which is going out of the mall....for $6 I got her a down coat that doesn't have a working zipper and a cute matching fleece coat that does have a working zipper. So without even trying she is fashionable!!

Nothing at the Disney Store.

We also made stops at Linen & Things and Music & Arts (for flute sheet music).

Then lunch and my work's craft fair which was a huge bust....barely any foot traffic and mostly cheap vendors.

Off to Mama Mia at the $1 movie in an hour or so.

Kohl's stock went up today because Becky & I spent a pretty penny there today.

Tammi and Alyssa and Kristin and I had a nice lunch at Red Robin today.

They got to see my new hair... My hairdresser and I misunderstood one another and I ended up with burgundy hair! I will have to see whether or not I like it. Kristin hates it and Tammi was very diplomatic and said she liked the darkness of it. I think Alyssa was afraid of it!

Well it's halftime, so I'm going to finish unpacking and get ready for this evening, I have no idea what we are doing tonight.

If it didn't have the purple tint it would be really nice. I do like you with dark hair. At least you are taking it in stride. I would have been horrified to walk out of a salon with something that I did not ask for. Good luck getting it to a shade that you want.

If she were in dim light you wouldn't even notice it. But out in the sun, it's wine color, especially near to the scalp. It's not bad by any means.

Bob and I have not been back to Ohio since we moved away in 1988. We have been talking lately about going back just for kicks!

I was joking at first, but we'll be here and would love it! Cincinnati has ducks, too you know ... and Segways!

So I have a large majority of my decorations up, but I'm not thrilled by that. I'll get over it and will be glad it's done, but I hate feeling like that. Since I was about 5 I have decorated the weekend of my birthday. There's music, hot chocolate, and a big "to-do". This year, my MIL made plans for us that day and failed to let me know, then gave me a humongous guilt trip that I would rather decorate than spend time with her. Well...

Anyway, it's earlier than I would have liked and was a MUCH less festive day than I would have liked.... but at least it's nice to look at.

I'm still going to try and do the trees next weekend, but we might have to do them in pieces throughout the next week or two, too

Well, I wish they weren't up! I know it's only a week different, but it's just not right! It's silly, but it's got me in a funk that I basically won't have a "decorating day" this year!

Elin, it is definitely burgundy/wine-y, but it doesn't look bad at all!! If that's not what you were going for, though, it would be a bit frustrating. Like Tammi said, I wouldn't have handled the "wrong" color as well as you!

Don't you think it will fade a bit? I know my mom's definitely does over the first couple of days.
