I forgot to tell you all about a conversation that the kids and I had last night as we were drivng to football practice. My little man is getting quite knowledgable about government with all this election crap. As we passed a taxicab:

ALYSSA: Is that a taxi?
ME: Yes, that is a taxi.
NICHOLAS, in his I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT voice: Our new President Obama wants to raise taxis.

This is when I almost ran off the road from laughing.

Good morning everyone! Just catching up before I head out for the day..i think we have movies and lunch in plans and probably going to visit my cuosin and the baby again (he is soo sweet). I cant believe i come home tomorrow night

We have bowling this morning. Of course our cat had a bee in his bonnet last night. He walked around the house for hours howling away. I have no idea why he was upset, but man he was. He ended up pushing the door to the laundry room opening, knocking one of my tank tops off the folding shelf and leaving me a little present I think he was trying to make a point I wonder if he was mad that we closed the windows or if he just really wants to get out Another night like that and I will let him out

For DS we considered: Cody, Jarrod, Drake, Grayson. I'm sure there were others, but those were our other top choices.

I was going to go pick up that laptop you mentioned from Walmart...

clearly I am a novice when it comes to sales like this.....TONS OF PEOPLE lined up hours early. Needless to say I got NOTHING!

I'm not sure how early they lined up here. SIL was planning on going over at 3 AM. I don't know what time she went, but she did get 2. DN went with her. They had 41 available at our store. Best Buy has one tomorrow, I'm sure there will be another line for that one, though the Walmart one was slightly better. We decided to hold off a couple of year before buying the boys one. The have access to 4 computers at our house so it isn't really a hardship.

I'm off to work.

Hmph.

I spent almost an hour this morning working on dress to wear tonight. The last time I had it cleaned they lost 3 of the buttons off of it, so it has been hanging in my closet ever since. At some point a 4th button fell off, but I had that one in a drawer. The top of the dress is brocade, the rest is solid black. There are 3 buttons on the brocade part. I bought 3 buttons to go on the brocade so I could cut off the original buttons on the brocade and move them down. That way the 3 on top would match, and all the buttons on the solid part of the dress would match. I sew like I cook, but I managed to move and secure all of hte buttons. The dress fits (mostly) but I wasn't thrilled.

I went to Macy's to buy panyhose, then I went to Nordstrom. I found a really nice top that can go with the formal pants I wore last year. I bought it, came home and tried it on. I like it. DH made a face. He CLAIMS it is because I tried it on with my jeans. Liar.

I need to be in the shower NOW, but I still don't know what to wear to this party.

I don't know where you are finding these ads. I googled them and all I see is the regular weekly sale ads.

Nicholas' team lost today. He doesn't seem to be too upset. I did feel bad for the boys though. Oh well, now I have a little more free time. Nicholas did say that he wants to play again next year, so I'm glad about that.

We're taking a break while DH yells at the TV, he is a diehard Bama fan, and right now LSU is leading.

We had a horrible drive yesterday, for almost two hours we were in a torrential downpour, I was petrified.

Becky left and is on her way to her boyfriends. She'll head back to college tomorrow. We went to dinner at Outback last night with a friend of mine who Becky knows because I got her hooked on being a counselor at Girl Scout camp with us. We came back, got in our jammies, crawled in bed and fell asleep watching TV.

We got up early this morning, went down for breakfast, then headed to Kohl's by 8am. We got some great clothes. I had Becky get a skincare and makeup consultation. I'm not one for either. I use plain water on my face and wear makeup maybe once or twice a year. She loved it. We got her some skin care products and makeup. We made a deal and I got a set for myself as well. We will monitor each other and make sure we are both using them. We then went to Goodwill so Becky could pick up some jeans.

We came back to the room for a little while so we could get something to eat then headed off to the the movie theater to see The Secret Life of Bees. It was a very good movie. Afterwards, we came back here, she packed up and headed out.

We had a really nice time. I'm now just hanging out in the room watching TV and DISing. I am trying to decide if I'm going to start organizing my work tonight or wait until tomorrow.

Elin -- November 13-14, 2009, what are you doing?

JJ's had their first International Wine Festival last month, and it looks like it was a ton of fun! I guarantee it's no Disney F&WF (clearly) but there were 80 vendors, lots of food vendors, and - by their own admission - it was just "thrown together". They also had samples from their international cheese department, they moved the "olive bar" in (no thank you), etc. I imagine next year, with 13 months to plan, will be pretty cool!

Ooooooooooo! That sounds like fun! And it might be a weekend we could do! Let me remember this and see what we could work out!

Bob and I have not been back to Ohio since we moved away in 1988. We have been talking lately about going back just for kicks!
