I'll try to type another installment of our trip report. We'll see how far I get.
Day 2.
We woke up early and got repacked. Chris and I decided to take the mugs for drinks while the kids finished getting ready. I also wanted to swing by the front desk since our express departure documents were not on the doorknob. We went in and had them print the statement. I also enquired as to whether Mickey or another character could call Hunter to wish him a happy birthday. While the CM was looking into why he hadn't gotten a call or card another CM struck up a conversation with us. There was no one else in the lobby so everyone was very willing to talk. She asked us how our stay had been and told her that everything was wonderful with the exception of our visit to T-Rex. She agreed that pagers would be very beneficial and that she would pass that on. At that point we were happy that at least someone had heard our concerns. She then insisted that she talk with her manager to see if they could do anything for us. We told her that it wasn't necessary as we knew that being new there were still bugs to work out. She still insisted. She disappeared for a short while. When she came back she said that they couldn't do anything about our charges last night, but they would like us to have breakfast on them. We had just planned on a box of donuts. We explained that we were planning on heading out to Vero Beach soon, but she insisted that we take the time to have breakfast at Olivia's. They gave us a $75 credit to cover breakfast. The first CM then returned with a signed photo of Mickey for Hunter. She wasn't sure why he hadn't had one in the room. We were very pleased with the gesture and amazed by the breakfast offer. Chris and I walked back to our villa. We loaded the mini van then we all walked to Olivia's for a very nice breakfast. All 6 of us ate and there was still a very nice tip for the waitress
After breakfast we went out and took a few photos by the pool then went to the car and headed out. It took us a couple of hours to get to Vero Beach, but it was on roads that we had never travelled before. We saw lots of orange groves, wetland and communities of varying wealth. We were very amazed at how poverty level homes with mixed in communities of obvious wealth. That isn't something we see around here. Jill, our GPS voice, brought us right to the gates of Vero Beach with no trouble at all. The Resort is lovely. Check in was super easy and within minutes we were heading off to our already ready villa. We parked in the parking garage below our building, building 12. We brought our luggage in and settled in a bit. Soon we decided to explore the resort a bit. We found that we were n the building right next to the Inn. It was a very short walk to the restaurants, store, pool and recreations areas as well as the beach. We all had our swimsuits on. We decided to check out the beach first. I was suprised the we need our room keys to enter the beach and also to exit the beach. I guess that is how they keep it exclusive to disney.
