We get the day off of teaching on tuesday too--im not sure if they use any of the schools for polling, but i know we are off!

Deb - thank you so much for the card.

Today was very difficult, but I'm relieved that it's one more step toward all this being over with. They were able to have an open casket, but he really had the make-up caked on. I'm just thankful I got to see him one last time. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. I truly appreciate it.

Debbie - I got your check. Thanks!

Really? That doesn't happen around here. We use our schools as polling places. So the kids get a day off! We also us Fire and Police Stations.

our schools are used too....but our kids don't get the day off...I can't imagine what it's going to look like at those schools!! But we only have a few fire stations and no real police stations. So that leaves churches. The election judges are not church employees though!!

I hope today was better for you, Theresa.

Goodnight everyone. I need to get some sleep.

Hal figured he may never see the Phillies do this again. :goodvibes :rotfl:

I made Leighanna a little Halloween outfit for school today. She will wear her Bo Peep tomorrow for their parade. She doesn't have school on Friday.

She did spill a little orange paint on it at school. She was painting a picture of a pumpkin for me, so she is forgiven!;)

Very cute. The other kids must be so envious of her.

Some towns use school gymnasiums, others use City Hall or fire stations. Schools are not closed. Our town uses City Hall

I'm glad you got to see him one last time. I'm sure the funeral will be hard too, but you will make it

Terry I found this image.
I don't think of either you or Steffy as cows though.
I wish I was a graphic artist, I would just draw up what you describe.
Perfect Tom! This could be gender neutral. Thanks!:cool1: :cool1:

Terrific Beth! Thanks. This would be perfect with Tom's cow!:cool1: :cool1:

I instantly thought of Maxine for your request Terry,

Thank you!!!:cool1: :cool1: :thumbsup2

What a day. The best part is that it is over :rotfl:

MIL called. It appears that they have scheduled the wake for 6-8 pm on Friday, yep on Halloween :confused3 I cannot think of a worse day of the year to have a wake. The funeral will be on Saturday at 11 am. We are torn on what to do. We did not care for the man, but feel that we should be there to support his mother. On the other hand we feel like we have an obligation to our kids to take them to Halloween activities. My Mom will take them to bowling league on Saturday so Chris and I will attend the funeral. Do you think it is ok to skip the wake? I wonder how many people will even show up on Friday for the wake?

I am subbing again tomorrow, but only until Noon. I was supposed to be done at 11, but they needed me longer and said the Colby could stay with me.

Well i must sleep..i am so excited about this world series so i think ill climb in bed and watch some of the celebrating! have a great night!
