DDA Chapter 13

lol...told you I was an airhead today!!

I was getting checks from Pinecone too and finally got an email from them regarding Pay Pal and I wondered that too. I just could not wrap my head around that. :confused3 :rotfl:

Last night Jackie and her friends went to a concert to see The Plain White T's....they wanted matching T-shirts for the concert so I quickly designed something for them...

Anyway...she came floating through the door last night, apparently all the band members signed their t-shirts!!

Now she wants to frame the darn thing :rotfl2:
Wow! I hope she knows how cool her mom is! :cool1:

As horrible as this is to say (and I haven't said it out loud to him), I am very thankful that he still has his job. When we went through this back in 1990 he was one of the first ones to be cut. I do not want to go through that again. We are still recovering. I am not sure we could do it a second time.

On another not so good note... today is Kathrin's 30th birthday. Last night some friends took her out to dinner and coming out of the restaurant she slipped on the wet pavement and fell. She has a nasty shiner but more importantly she has a broken tooth. She called me in tears this morning. She asked what more could possibly go wrong in a week's time. I was afraid to discuss this with her at this point. Please send some good thoughts her way. I think she could really use them.
Oh no poor Kathrin, what a terrible week for her.    I hope thinks start to turn upwards for her again.

:wizard: for you & Bob.

I am thinking the frying pan sounds real good right about now. ;)

I am furious at DS and DH. I fell asleep on the couch and didn't wake up until 5 AM. I moved to the bedroom to try to get at least 2 more hours of rest. DH got in the shower about 6 AM, and at 6:30 he was walking down the hallway and DS jumped out and scared him. So DH is shrieking, DS is laughing, they are making enough noise to wake the dead. I got up because I was afraid the neighbors would call the police. I HATE HATE HATE that they jump out and scare each other. And stupid DH doesn't bother to turn the light on when he walks down the hall so it is perfect for DS to scare him. :headache: Then DH tells me "It is time for you to get up anyway." Really? He was in bed asleep before 8 PM and slept until almost 6 AM. I was up designing a brochure. Yet he gets to decide when it is time for ME to get up? What a lovely double standard he has! I will have to think of some revenge.

Happy Birthday Kathrin.

Poor thing  plenty of good thoughts. :wizard:

Thank you, Heidi and everyone else. She got an appointment with the dentist at 10:30 this morning so I am waiting to hear the outcome. She does have insurance still, so that is a bright spot in all of this.

What a week the poor girl is having and what a way to spend her birthday.

I hope it is fixed quickly and relatively inexpensively!!

I always think of things at the oddest times, this morning was:

Elin-do you still dabble in making jewelry?? It popped in my head that I haven't even thought of what I am making my girls for Christmas this year. Maybe I will try and make them a piece of jewelry as they are both wearing more these days.

Hi, everyone....remember me? :flower3:

Thanks for all the PMs and e-mails recently. I'm sorry that I was AWOL for so long (and I know I sound like a broken record), but it's just been general craziness in my life right now. It's all pretty much work-related - just had a lot on my plate, my assistant took a job oppty. she couldn't pass up at another firm a couple of weeks ago, etc. I'm hopeful, though, that I'll be able to be around more in the weeks ahead. Know that you've all been in my thoughts and prayers!

Just in reading back over the last few pages, it sounds like everyone could use a big collective :grouphug:. For all those that have lost loved ones so suddenly, please know that you're in my prayers.

Elizabeth did a great job catching me up to speed on Friday, so I'll just jump back in and try to keep up as I can! I've missed you all.

She actually broke down and cried at the dentist's office. :sad1: It is not an easy fix, nor is it going to be inexpensive, I am afraid. The tooth now has a temporary crown on it. But it will require a root canal and a permanent crown. The teeth on either side of the broken one both have fractures in them that the endodontist needs to look at.

And when they pulled up Kathrin's insurance information, it shows that it was canceled the day after she was laid off. :sad2: She will have to contact the HR department and find out what is going on as this is not what was promised. I am hoping that they are nicer people than I have given them credit for. It is worrying me quite a bit.

I have not made anything new in about 4-6 months, Theresa. I have not really had the time, nor do I need any more right now. ;) But you ought to consider it as it can be a relaxing hobby and if you shop carefully for the beads and supplies, not too expensive. I say, GO FOR IT! :thumbsup2

I told Lindsay I'd be her assistant but we both decided the commute would be heck!!:rotfl:

Good to see you, Lindsay!!

The company that my dad worked for did the same thing as soon as they were notified that he died. Of course they weren't supposed to so my sister had to go round with them to reinstate my mom. They were supposed to cover her for a month after his death until her new insurance kicked in.

Elin,

I am sorry Kathrin is going thru this. Having just had my root canal and a temp crown for now, it was not a pleasant experience. Then for Kathrin to face the threat of not having insurance when it was promised, is even worse.

Back in 2001, right before Christmas, Hal was let go from a job that he had worked at for over 13 years. Not the best Christmas present ever. That was a very scary year to get back on an even keel. He was a miserable person on unemployment.

Hi, Lindsay! Cute siggie pic! :goodvibes

Oh, no. :sad2: Did she tell the restaurant that she fell? Don't they have insurance for patrons injured on their property? I would think her ex-employer would have to offer her COBRA. Isn't that the law?

I got the feeling that she was not on their property, but on her way to the "T" station. I would think there would, by law, have to be some kind of insurance coverage, yes. I hope it is just a bad mistake and things will improve quickly for her.
