Elizabeth, smack your DH upside the head for me.
You want I should smack him with my hand, or you want I should smack him with something else?
Elizabeth, smack your DH upside the head for me.
What great photos!!!! They are all so cute!!! I have virtually no photos of all 3 kids together when Joe was 2. He just wouldn't have his photo taken. I started taking photos of the back of his head for proof that I tried when he got older.JCPenney finally linked me to our photo session.![]()

Traditional duck picture...this duck has posed with all three kiddos at age 3 months during this photosession. Noah got mad at the duck when it was too close and he kept trying to eat it.![]()

Now the three of them. This didn't really work:

How tragic on both counts. Your poor friend's friend.MIL called last night to tell us that dh's sister's dh was in a car accident. The other driver fell asleep at the wheel and smashed into the passenger side of the truck in which he was riding. Both drivers walked away, but it took 45 minutes for the emergency crews to extricate him, and he was then lifeflighted up to Syracuse. He is still in ICU, though he is stable. They are deciding what to do about the completely smashed knee, and he has multiple fractures (ribs, pelvis, arm, leg) on his right side.
This came right after a friend called to tell me about her friend whose dh was rear-ended and pushed into oncoming traffic by a 17 year old girl who was texting while driving. They lost their 9 year old dd in the accident, and the husband does not currently remember the last ~20 years of his life. He doesn't remember the dd at all or his wife. He keeps asking for his parents who have been dead for almost 15 years.
Sometimes I don't think we remember what our cars are capable of.
Good for you for calling!I did call the doctor for my test results. PAP and echocardiogram were completely normal. The mammogram shows a "benign-appearing density" in the right breast. They and the radiologist both recommend a repeat mammogram in 6 months but don't think it's anything to investigate further at this point. I sure hope they are right.
Do you make this cream of mushroom soup? If so my Mom used to make it quite often.Matthew's senior pictures came today. I'll try to scan them later.
I'm off to make dinner. Dh remembered something his mother used to make (back in the days when money was tight and ground meat was cheap) called Hamburger Gravy. It seems to be a lot like sausage gravy. I'm making it with mashed potatoes tonight.
Men tend to think they have to fix everything-they often can't just let you vent. Maybe your DH doesn't know how to fix what is irritating you so he's got to tell you you can't let it irritate you.Ever have something relatively minor irritate you, and then have your spouse tell you that you have no right to be irritated?![]()
This has nothing to do with him, and I AM irritated although it isn't a huge thing.
And on the subject of things that irritate me, in a completely separate irritation, DH has agreed to pick up an extra shift AGAIN next week! One where he will have to go in at midnight. ON HALLOWEEN!![]()

I know! Why doesn't he expose himself to the absolute most risk/danger possible!
He was scheduled OFF!!! The measly extra pay he will get for working won't even pay for an OFFICE VISIT, let alone an ambulance ride to an ER trauma center.
Bonehead.

So cute! Happy 1st Birthday Virginia!!!
Thanks for the update Theresa. I can't imagine what she is going through. With all that's transpiring in my life, I'm very glad that Glynis has this time to say goodbye to her mother.I just received this note from Glynis:
Theresa,
I'm so sorry I haven't been online. I just spent the week with my mom, and got back to find that my computer died while I was gone. Alan just gave me his extra laptop, so I'm back online, but having a hard time connecting to the DIS.
Could you pass a message along to the DDA for me? I won't be online for some time. Things with my mom are going downhill very fast! Basically, her heart is turning into a stone, her dialysis isn't working well, and she's not going to last much longer. I'm just going to be flexible and do whatever I can to help make her last days happy. So, I'm not sure when I'll be around. I don't want people to worry about me, so I'm hoping you'll update everyone. I'll post when I can. I'm actually feeling pretty ok with all this. Mom and I had some great talks while I was there, and she's at peace. We went over her wishes, and things were made very clear that will make things easier.
Thanks for all the prayers and support. Glynis
I was waiting until this evening to call Glynis anyway so I will give you all another update as I get them.
We are the Eagles. Our school's tagline is FFES, Where Eagles Learn to Soar. Kinda catchy, I think.I am pretty sure none of the elementaries I went to had a mascot. Oh, no, one was the Gators. Ironically that was a TX school, not a FL one.
My Jr. High was sharks, and my high school was warriors.
This one is perfect!
Still nothing new to report. I was at the scene/command post all day today, trying to feel/be useful. At this point, the outcome is not going to be good.
Getting ready to leave....why would anyone chose a field mouse as a school mascot??
...
Getting on the bus....my tough as nails kid hugged me 6 times and was close to tears!!![]()
Cute pictures, Kristine. I think a field mouse is better than a lot of mascots. When I lived in Baytown, my brother and I were Robert E. Lee Ganders!![]()

I go have to agree with you....Halloween night wouldn't be a night I would be picking up an extra shift on.![]()

Yep! And when our school burned down (the superintendent hired an arsonist! ), we all wore t-shirts that said "Gander Pride will Survive!"
I can't believe that was over 20 years ago...
All of you that have been posting ... did you change districts/schools between Elemntary, Junior High and High School? Kyle and I were JUST talking about this concept.... the district we live in is the only one (I think) around here where the mascots changed based on the building you are in, instead of staying the same in the district. We thought it would be strange to change mascots so frequently (unless you were changing school districts entirely).... feeling like it might even cause (minor) discordance in school spirit or something throughout the community
But it seems to be very common, at least on the thread....![]()
Amy- Cute Pics!!!!!!
Elizabeth- I hope DH gets a chance to photograph the owl! Sorry the brochure is giving you a fit.
My elementary school mascot was a bulldog, my 1st high school was a bee, and the 2nd one that was voted on by the students was knight. (my HS and our rival HS merged my junior year).
Emma's mascot is a lighthouse.![]()
