Traditional duck picture...this duck has posed with all three kiddos at age 3 months during this photosession. Noah got mad at the duck when it was too close and he kept trying to eat it. :goodvibes

Now the three of them. This didn't really work:

What great photos!!!! They are all so cute!!! I have virtually no photos of all 3 kids together when Joe was 2. He just wouldn't have his photo taken. I started taking photos of the back of his head for proof that I tried when he got older.

MIL called last night to tell us that dh's sister's dh was in a car accident. The other driver fell asleep at the wheel and smashed into the passenger side of the truck in which he was riding. Both drivers walked away, but it took 45 minutes for the emergency crews to extricate him, and he was then lifeflighted up to Syracuse. He is still in ICU, though he is stable. They are deciding what to do about the completely smashed knee, and he has multiple fractures (ribs, pelvis, arm, leg) on his right side.

This came right after a friend called to tell me about her friend whose dh was rear-ended and pushed into oncoming traffic by a 17 year old girl who was texting while driving. They lost their 9 year old dd in the accident, and the husband does not currently remember the last ~20 years of his life. He doesn't remember the dd at all or his wife. He keeps asking for his parents who have been dead for almost 15 years.

Sometimes I don't think we remember what our cars are capable of.
How tragic on both counts. Your poor friend's friend.

I did call the doctor for my test results. PAP and echocardiogram were completely normal. The mammogram shows a "benign-appearing density" in the right breast. They and the radiologist both recommend a repeat mammogram in 6 months but don't think it's anything to investigate further at this point. I sure hope they are right.
Good for you for calling!

Matthew's senior pictures came today. I'll try to scan them later.

I'm off to make dinner. Dh remembered something his mother used to make (back in the days when money was tight and ground meat was cheap) called Hamburger Gravy. It seems to be a lot like sausage gravy. I'm making it with mashed potatoes tonight.
Do you make this cream of mushroom soup? If so my Mom used to make it quite often.

Ever have something relatively minor irritate you, and then have your spouse tell you that you have no right to be irritated?
This has nothing to do with him, and I AM irritated although it isn't a huge thing.

And on the subject of things that irritate me, in a completely separate irritation, DH has agreed to pick up an extra shift AGAIN next week! One where he will have to go in at midnight. ON HALLOWEEN!   I know! Why doesn't he expose himself to the absolute most risk/danger possible! He was scheduled OFF!!! The measly extra pay he will get for working won't even pay for an OFFICE VISIT, let alone an ambulance ride to an ER trauma center. :headache: Bonehead.
Men tend to think they have to fix everything-they often can't just let you vent. Maybe your DH doesn't know how to fix what is irritating you so he's got to tell you you can't let it irritate you.

I go have to agree with you....Halloween night wouldn't be a night I would be picking up an extra shift on.:confused3

I just received this note from Glynis:

Theresa,

I'm so sorry I haven't been online. I just spent the week with my mom, and got back to find that my computer died while I was gone. Alan just gave me his extra laptop, so I'm back online, but having a hard time connecting to the DIS.

Could you pass a message along to the DDA for me? I won't be online for some time. Things with my mom are going downhill very fast! Basically, her heart is turning into a stone, her dialysis isn't working well, and she's not going to last much longer. I'm just going to be flexible and do whatever I can to help make her last days happy. So, I'm not sure when I'll be around. I don't want people to worry about me, so I'm hoping you'll update everyone. I'll post when I can. I'm actually feeling pretty ok with all this. Mom and I had some great talks while I was there, and she's at peace. We went over her wishes, and things were made very clear that will make things easier.

Thanks for all the prayers and support. Glynis

I was waiting until this evening to call Glynis anyway so I will give you all another update as I get them.
Thanks for the update Theresa. I can't imagine what she is going through. With all that's transpiring in my life, I'm very glad that Glynis has this time to say goodbye to her mother.

I am pretty sure none of the elementaries I went to had a mascot. Oh, no, one was the Gators. Ironically that was a TX school, not a FL one.

My Jr. High was sharks, and my high school was warriors.
We are the Eagles. Our school's tagline is FFES, Where Eagles Learn to Soar. Kinda catchy, I think.

Still nothing new to report. I was at the scene/command post all day today, trying to feel/be useful. At this point, the outcome is not going to be good.

Tammi- Continued prayers for all:hug:'s

Beth- I am so glad all your tests came back good.

Elizabeth- Men are frustrating!! :headache: I hope what ever is irritating you stops soon.

Jennifer- Yay for a good check up for Virginia!

Jennifer- I loved reading about your Segway adventure

Jen- Glad the conferences are going well.

Theresa a call from the police is never a nice way to start the day

Amy love the photos, your children are so cute!

Kristine I hope Christopher has a wonderful time, he looks happy!

Elizabeth I will thump your dh on the head as well!

Heidi please keep the snow ;)

Beth prayers for your bil & your friends friend :wizard:

Glynis you & your family are in my prayers, I am so sorry

Tammi

:wizard: & to anyone I missed!

Is there any theory at this point as to what they think happened?

Still nothing new to report. I was at the scene/command post all day today, trying to feel/be useful. At this point, the outcome is not going to be good.

Getting ready to leave....why would anyone chose a field mouse as a school mascot?? :rotfl2:

...

Getting on the bus....my tough as nails kid hugged me 6 times and was close to tears!! :lovestruc

Cute pictures! I hope he has a great time!

Cute pictures, Kristine. I think a field mouse is better than a lot of mascots. When I lived in Baytown, my brother and I were Robert E. Lee Ganders! :rotfl:

That's pitiful! :rotfl:

All of you that have been posting ... did you change districts/schools between Elemntary, Junior High and High School? Kyle and I were JUST talking about this concept.... the district we live in is the only one (I think) around here where the mascots changed based on the building you are in, instead of staying the same in the district. We thought it would be strange to change mascots so frequently (unless you were changing school districts entirely).... feeling like it might even cause (minor) discordance in school spirit or something throughout the community

But it seems to be very common, at least on the thread.... :confused3

JCPenney finally linked me to our photo session. :goodvibes

Holy cow, I think he's looking SO much more like Alyssa than I initially thought! Adorable pictures.... and I will have to show you one of our family ones, in which we were all "stacked" like your 3 kiddos -- it didn't work well for us, either! :rotfl:

Miss you!

This is a work thing that is irritating me. I guess he thinks since my job is usually really terrific that I am not allowed to be irritated at anything related to my job.
He is trying to tell me it is an easy route and he won't have to go in that early blah blah blah.

Tammi, I am so sorry. What a horrible situation. His poor family. :sad2:

Yep! And when our school burned down (the superintendent hired an arsonist! ), we all wore t-shirts that said "Gander Pride will Survive!"

I can't believe that was over 20 years ago...

I'm sorry.... what?!

Because we have 30 elementaries that feed into 4 middle schools then into 3 high schools we have to change according to building otherwise Heritage Lions, Littleton Lions and Arapahoe Lions would be too confusing:rotfl: (those are our three high schools and each gets kids from 2+ middle schools)

Amy- Cute Pics!!!!!!

Elizabeth- I hope DH gets a chance to photograph the owl! Sorry the brochure is giving you a fit.

My elementary school mascot was a bulldog, my 1st high school was a bee, and the 2nd one that was voted on by the students was knight. (my HS and our rival HS merged my junior year).

Emma's mascot is a lighthouse.

That's classic! :)

I don't understand the question. :rotfl2:

Our elementary, middle school, and high school are 3 separate buildings and they all have their own mascots.

Are you saying that your elementary/middle and then high school all had the same mascot? There has to be more than say one elementary school in each district but they all had the same, is that right?
Our elementary school had it's own mascot, and then my Junior/Senior High had one. Each was in the same district. Every school around here has it's own mascot even if it's in the same district.
