Traditional duck picture...this duck has posed with all three kiddos at age 3 months during this photosession. Noah got mad at the duck when it was too close and he kept trying to eat it.

Centennial and Poly were both ponies, Goddard is heck if I know ..beakers maybe??, Littleton is the Lions.

There is a ruckus because University of Denver won't bring back "Boone" the mascot because he is devisive...he looks like a cartoon Daniel Boone and DU is the pioneers. Instead they use a falcon of some sort.

DS's elementary was the Patriots. I think the high school is Panthers.

Yep! And when our school burned down (the superintendent hired an arsonist! ), we all wore t-shirts that said "Gander Pride will Survive!"

That picture was taken right after a pose that you won't see. She had Alyssa and Matty lying one way and Noah lying the opposite way, and she tried to take a picture above them. A certain 2-year-old wasn't interested in looking up...he kept putting his hands up over his head and he poked poor Noah in the eye. So, Noah was fed up by then, until we kicked Matty out.

Great. Almost time to go get Princess. The sky has gone black and the wind is blowing really hard. I think that there will NOT be play group at the park today. Which is just as well, because only 2 people said they were coming to play group anyway. The alternate location was the flight museum. I am not a huge fan of the flight museum, and I think it is ridiculous to take 2 year olds there just to play in the toddler area. DS liked it well enough when we went with Brother & Sister but it just really isn't my first choice for an afternoon outing when Princess has been at school all day.

Technically the "good shots," happened first, and it all went downhill from there. I thought it was more amusing to show you the bad ones first, though. I'm easily amused.

We actually moved back to Ohio before they figured out the superintendent was involved, but I remember hearing he was prosecuted. I didn't think our school was bad, but he must have had some crazy logic behind his criminal ways!

The fire occurred in April, so we still had a month of school left. We had to go to the other high school in the district, our arch rival! They went to school for a few hours in the morning and we went to school for a few hours in the afternoon. I remember my geometry teacher gave us homework every night, so we couldn't use the excuse that our books burned in the fire. My English teacher lost her gradebook though...this was before the computer-age!

I got so fed up with the stupid brochure I decided to make a new document. The first page is fine, but the second page refused to let me have any text or images at the top of the page - it started printing about a third of the way down. Now that I have it in a whole separate document it is working much better. DS needs to tell me what info he wants in the last panel (science) and it will be finished!
Then it will be time to do the election notebook, followed by the stupid science fair, followed by a visit to a historic place in TX. DS doesn't like the places that I have suggested, like the zoo. I MIGHT be able to talk him into a cemetery. I think he wants to go on some sort of elaborate road trip to the Alamo or something, but I don't see that in his future.

a call from the local police at 8:30 in the morning to talk to you about your daughter is not the way to start the day!!

The police officer was calling to tell me that she was going to talk to Cassidy about an alleged assault at the HS on one of her friends. Still makes my heart race.

I can imagine how you are feeling. One summer someone broke into a home down the street and the kids doing the damage kept saying my oldest sons name. When the police showed up on our door, I was so very angry at the parent who called because he didn't check with us first. Our son was down in DC with a group of kids from church and had been gone for about 4 days. That parent was rude enough that he did not even come up to apologize!!!!!

My elementary school mascot was a bulldog, my 1st high school was a bee, and the 2nd one that was voted on by the students was knight. (my HS and our rival HS merged my junior year).

Emma's mascot is a lighthouse.

I think the picture in our yearbook was of a guy on a bike with a comet like thing on top of a helmet!!!!

I just received this note from Glynis:

Theresa,

I'm so sorry I haven't been online. I just spent the week with my mom, and got back to find that my computer died while I was gone. Alan just gave me his extra laptop, so I'm back online, but having a hard time connecting to the DIS.

Could you pass a message along to the DDA for me? I won't be online for some time. Things with my mom are going downhill very fast! Basically, her heart is turning into a stone, her dialysis isn't working well, and she's not going to last much longer. I'm just going to be flexible and do whatever I can to help make her last days happy. So, I'm not sure when I'll be around. I don't want people to worry about me, so I'm hoping you'll update everyone. I'll post when I can. I'm actually feeling pretty ok with all this. Mom and I had some great talks while I was there, and she's at peace. We went over her wishes, and things were made very clear that will make things easier.
