Tammi - I hope Alyssa's ear stops bothering her! Princess had that episode last Thursday where she carried on about her ear all afternoon, and she has been fine ever since. :confused3 Crazy girl.
One of the moms at preschool asked if maybe she was getting her 2 year molars, which I hadn't even thought of. I finally looked in her mouth today and there is NOTHING. She has gotten all of her teeth really, really late.

Interesting e-mail, Deb!
I have to admit that I don't understand the "plan" at all. In fact, I don't even understand the PROBLEM. The banks loaned out a bunch of money and now nobody is paying back the loans so the banks are going belly-up? Is that the deal?

My mom was saying something about it last night and I am SURE she doesn't understand. She thinks people will be allowed to keep the houses they defaulted on, and not have to pay the mortgages.

I am quite certain nobody is going to magically own their home and not owe another penny. I AM certain, right? They aren't just telling people their mortgages are forgiven, are they? They are talking about redoing the terms of the mortgages so the payments are something the occupants can actually pay? :confused3

If somebody has the preschool version I would love to hear it, because I really don't understand. I imagine there will be some HUGE, horrible impact on all of us because of this, I am just not sure WHAT that impact will be.

I'm not completely clear on the details. Basically lenders were lending larger quantities of money to people that could not afford it. They were giving money based on what someone "should" be making 10 years down the road. The initial interest rates were phenominal, but once the initial period was over, the rates skyrocketed and people could not afford their payments. This caused many forclosures or people being forced to sell their homes just to get out of finicial ruin. With so many houses flooding the market the overall value of homes decreased. Since many financial institutions sell off their mortgages to investment firms those people were counting on the interest as their return on investment. If people can't make the payments there is no return and now the investors are caught holding properties which they cannot sell and which is then a huge loss for the investor. Now nobody wants to purchase the mortgages from the investors or banks. So that's my kindergarten version as I understand it. I'm sure I'm missing some issues and maybe someone else will enlighten us all.

I'm glad that it doesn't appear to be infected. Nick gets that issue occasionally and a dose or two of sudafed takes care of him. :wizard:

My ear has been hurting off and on since last week...it was horrible Monday. Tammi-tell Alyssa I understand the pain. Hope it feels better fast!!

We'll finally get to meet Tinkerbell :cool1: :cool1:

TINKER BELL COMING TO TOONTOWN

WOW!! When was the last time they did anything new at Toontown? Well, it's finally happening on October 26 when Pixie Hollow makes its debut. Here guests will meet and mingle with Tinker Bell and her friends Rosetta the Garden Fairy, Silvermist the Water Fairy, Iridessa the Light Fairy and Fawn the Animal Fairy.

Pixie Hollow is being described as a magical forest where guests "shrink" to pixie size. The characters will speak to visitors.

This intro will also include a new line of merchandise based on the straight to DVD movie "Tinker Bell" set for release on October 28.

More good news. Donald Duck will be at the Cape May Character Breakfast starting Sept 28. That will give us a new venue for Donald. Colby will be thrilled with this

Elin-:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: for Disney tomorrow!! I don't know whether you heard or not:confused3 but I get to go on a plane tomorrow too!!:rotfl:

Yeah, I had heard something about a mini-DDA meet in Utah, of all places! :rotfl:

I hope you have a much-deserved WONDERFUL time with Glynis. I see lots of pampering on both sides of the table for this trip. :goodvibes

Thanks for the movie recommendation Tom and Beth...we're going to go to the 1:10 matinee today.

Elin, I hope you have a magical trip! :wizard:

Theresa and Glynis, you're going to have so much fun together!!! Can't wait to see pictures!

Thanks, Amy!

I hope you all enjoyed the movie. :goodvibes

Well, Alyssa got up still complaining about her ear hurting. So I took her to the clinic 1st thing. She does NOT have an inner ear infection. Her eardrums were fine. I guess that's a good thing, but the way she was complaining....sheesh. He said she MAY have an outer infection, like swimmers ear, because it was a little red. Or it could be from her rubbing it. So he gave me a script for some drops, gave her another shot of motrin and off to school she went. I hope I don't get a phonecall later in the day!

Elin - have a wonderful trip! Are you taking your laptop?

Robyn - I didn't realize the sub that you were talking about was the long-term sub. I thought it was a sub for the sub. Definitely get it ironed out now.

Deb - could you please email that budget plan straight to W. Well no, on second thought, not him. He won't do anything. Hmmm....maybe Cheney? Probably not. So...........we're screwed.

I hope Alyssa lasted the day, Tammi. I also hope that it was something simple like the doctor thinks.

No laptop going on this trip! I am taking 4 books and three 2G memory cards for my camera. Other than never being able to catch up with all the chatting that will go on here, I think I will be fine without the computer. I will have my cell phone with me in case you need to get in touch with me. ;)

I posted on my pre TR that you would think after as many trips to WDW as I have taken that I would not still get so giddy... but I am!! :yay:

I think you did an excellent job, Deb. The other thing that is of great import is that some of these companies (AIG in particular) are firmly seated in international banking, securities, insurance, investment, etc. If they go under there is a chance that the entire world economy would take a nosedive the likes of which not even Robert Heinlein could have envisioned. It is very sad and extremely scary!

Wow. $59 per night at a Value! Our first trip in 1/05 we got Pop for $55 per night. The thing that is keeping us home until next August is the combination of lack of APs and outrageous airfare. :guilty: Plus trying to figure out dates that would work for both DH and DS is a pain.

Man I wish we could afford another trip :sad2:

We could fly southwest on Oct 21 returning Oct 27 for $180 r/t with a $59 room. Of course our APs are expired and the kids would want to come as they don't have school most of that time frame, and food...I guess we'll just install the new furnace and keep warm this entire winter rather than enjoying one week

The boys are home. Hunter has crud coming out of his ear today. It reminds me of the crud I used to clean out of our dog's ear when he had an ear infection. Hopefully that means it is clearing. He says that it is much much better. It is still sensitive to touch, but the overall pain is gone :thumbsup2 He still has 1/2 of his antibiotics left and we will continue the drops until 2 days after the touch sensitivity goes away.

As soon as we have Hunter properly medicated I'll be taking them to my parent's house and heading to work. Talk with you all later.

Jen what was the outcome of today at school? I'm curious

Deb - Being responsible is boring, isn't it? I wish we could go back to WDW sooner but it just isn't going to happen. Besides, after spending $1000 earlier this year going back and forth to Kansas 3 times I better keep in mind that Mom still has months of treatment ahead and I may need to go up there several more times before all is said and done.
Poor Hunter has really had a time with that ear! I hope he feels better soon! :wizard:

Very cool. Do you know if this is only at WDW or at DL, too? I have a couple of girls that are in love with the Fairies, and would kill to meet them! If they're going to be in DL in June, that would be fabulous!!!

Oh, we are going to have such a fun time! If y'all hear about 2 crazy women giggling their way across Salt Lake City, you'll know it's us! I'm so excited, and my kids are thrilled! Alan has a great dinner planned for us on Saturday, so it should be a great time!!!

Sounds like the eardrum burst. The pain relief when that happens is amazing!

Hopefully, he's on the mend!

I did tell Glynis I hope I don't get kicked off the plane for bouncing up and down in my seat:rotfl:

I'm in the need of some major pixie dust right now. My dad just called me to let me know that things with my mom have spiraled downhill rather rapidly. She's on dialysis 3 times a week, and for the last 2 weeks at each session, she's passed out. Her blood pressure becomes almost non-existent, and it's been really puzzling. Her doctor's ran some tests today and found that her new (well, 5 year old) heart valve is not functioning at all anymore. That is affecting her dialysis and causing her to pass out. It's very dangerous, as the dialysis is not working effectively, without that valve, so her body is collecting all the poison and not getting rid of it.

She has an emergency meeting with the heart specialist at 8:00 tomorrow morning, and they will most likely schedule her for surgery as soon as possible. They will try to get her stabilized, but dad is projecting that surgery could come as early as Monday, if not sooner.

If you could spare some prayers, good thoughts, pixie dust, etc., for my mom and dad, I would appreciate it. She's in good health otherwise, so hopefully this surgery will really fix her up.
