I have a call in to an appliance repair guy who also does handywork. I hope he can fix the compactor, carpet, and I have another toilet out as well.

OK -- back to work for me.

Here's hoping he can fix it all. I hope your week gets better!

Good morning DDA!!

Jennifer-enjoy your time in Chicago, hopefully it will recharge your batteries.:goodvibes

I love both Neil Patrick Harris and Steven Curtis Chapman. When SCC's daughter was killed I cried and cried. Not too long ago the whole family did an interview with PEOPLE , what an amazing family!!

On walking to work I am listening to the radio and the last song before reaching work was "God Bless the Broken Road" by Rascall Flats...that's my new cry every time I hear it song. Cassidy is learning to play it on piano and she will sing the song when she does it in recital...buy stock in Kleenex for that week.

I have 2 sleeps until I get to meet Glynis:cool1: :cool1: Glynis, Cassidy is quite jealous about #1 & #2 on the restaurant list. I have been told to bring home something from Hires!!:goodvibes

I know I can count on you guys so can you all spare some good thoughts and pixie dust for my sister. She went to the dr.s yesterday and her amniotic fluid is high and her white blood count is low. They are concerned because it can be a sign of infection mainly the CMV virus or a sign of diabetes, she passed her glucose screening so I imagine it's not that. She is going for blood work today but I imagine it may be a few days before she finds out anything. When she was pregnant with her first DD, who was stillborn) she had the CMV virus but it went undetected until they did the autopsy on my niece. I appreciate it.

I hope everything is OK! :wizard:

Robyn, prayers and pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: for your sister!

I have the mammogram and echocardiogram today, so I'm looking for a little DDA pixiedust that it's all a waste of time and money again.

Good luck today, Beth! :wizard:

That's what I did, and it seemed to work. So far, none this morning!

I hope you continue to feel OK! :wizard:

I am sure when mom had Dawn and I out (we are 1 year and 7 months apart) that no one thought we were twins. We don't even look like sisters, even my mom will tell you that.

I remember she had my cousin with us once when shopping and the man at the ice cream counter, ask about the 3 of us. When mom said 2 were her daughters and the other a niece, he pointed to Dawn and my cousin and said thoes 2 sisters and pointed to me and said your niece.
Mom said no I was the other daughter, and he argued with her.

Ms. Selfish and I are 10 yrs. 2 mos. apart. A lady at the mall one day asked me if Ms. Selfish was MY baby! :scared1: My mom was off to the side looking at something and the lady didn't see her.

When we were in WDW last month I had one lady ask if the kids were triplets.

See? People are stupid.

Nothing like the sound of a chainsaw in the morning! :rolleyes1 Dadboss hired some guys to cut down the dead tree in the yard. He was thinking of trying to cut it down himself  so I am glad he decided to hire someone to do it. It is between the fence and the pool, so I am pretty sure it would have taken out the fence or landed in the pool if he had attempted to do it himself.

This must be my day for loud, annoying stuff. After the stupid woman called at 6:10 AM I heard a bunch of sirens and helicopters. Massive house fire around the corner from us. They had the street shut down for a little while but by the time we left for school the traffic looked like it always does.

Marci - Good luck with the home improvements!
The x-rays aren't too bad, but the casting for the retainers made DS gag and he doesn't have a sensitive gag reflex. They had to take the molds out and try again. Hopefully it will go OK! :wizard:

No milkshakes yesterday...

We went to the zoo, after we picked Alyssa up from preschool. Then, after dinner, we walked to soccer practice and my FIL played with Matty at the park. I fell asleep in the chair with Noah around 9:30 p.m. and stayed there all night.

I have about an hour to figure out what we're doing after preschool today. Alyssa has a soccer game tonight, and my MIL is taking out for pizza afterward.

I hope everyone has a good day! :wave2:

Thanks for all the well wishes for today. I'm sure everything will be fine (and I keep telling myself that).

Thanks for the support on the preschool business, too. I really love working with the kids. All my classes ran fine last year, but the change in director has been awful. This is a small church-run preschool. The director and all the preschool board members are volunteers (and all church members). I think that many of the board members are burning out or just want to be on the board to make sure the preschool doesn't do anything to hurt their church. All of a sudden last year, it became a huge issue that my co-teacher and I don't have degrees in education. We aren't "real" teachers. Trust me, we both have more overall education and much more experience with preschoolers than anyone on the board. We have never had a parent complaint about our curriculum or teaching abilities. Then we had a heap of trouble, because we threw things (broken toys and donated stuffed animals mostly) away when we were cleaning the classrooms before summer. I mean it was almost the start of World War III from their perspective. After a good talking to, we were told that we weren't good stewards and to never, ever throw anything away, because someone, somewhere could use it. They don't understand that it is better to have 4 or 5 nice baby dolls than 20 ratty ones. So now we need to box up anything we want to get rid of and save it for them to go through. Of course when we did that, they didn't like the fact that we had so many boxes. They also seem to think that our pay is so great, because they calculate our hourly wage based on actual classroom teaching time. Yes, it looks great based on that, but we put in at least double the time with prep, cleaning, etc. I could go on and on about inane decision that they have made, but I don't want to bore you. So, this is really a last straw on the whole "undervalued and disrespected" chain that started last year. It's hard for me to leave this school, because all the preschools around here are beginning to require degrees in education for their teachers. The hours are perfect for me, and I really do love the kids and the program that we have developed. I won't continue, though, to work with so much disrespect. I've been wracking my brains to think of what else I can do with my desire to work only 9:15 am - 3:00 pm M-F (or fewer days).

I have a twin brother, but we were RARELY asked if we were twins. We just don't really look that much alike. We look like brothers, but that is it!

I remember my Mom and Dad would tell people that we were twins, and they acted amazed. I always got the comment that I must have eaten all of Tim's food, since he was always alot smaller than me.

How rude!

I'm uploading the next set of photos for my TR, but I probably won't get a chance to write it until Friday. I can't believe how quickly the days fly by when I'm not at work. My first appointment is at 1:00 pm, so I probably should leave the house not much after noon.

I called to order Matthew's senior pictures this morning, and the studio is closed today and tomorrow. That means I have to remember again on Friday. Not good for me!

I'll be gone the rest of the afternoon. I have to go do something for work that I'm really NOT looking forward too. Wish me luck!

Have a great day. TTYL.

Beth - Good luck on the job front! :wizard:
I love, love, love my job but the "good" nanny jobs are usually 50+ hours a week. I am very lucky in the fact that if I need to be somewhere I just scoop up Princess and take her with me, so the hours aren't a problem. My bosses have no problem with me taking her to DS's school functions or whatever. And since DH is usually finished early in the day he can cover picking DS up and so forth. (Then again, Princess LOVES to go get DS from school.)
I think I would log every bit of time you put in on prep and clean-up, then present it to the board along with a revised hourly rate so they can see that you are NOT being paid very well. And what are the chances that someone degreed would come in to replace you at the same salary? I know you love the kids, but if you allow the school to take advantage of you, they will!

We will definitely have to get her some fry sauce from Hires!!!

We are all so excited here, too!!! I can't believe it's actually almost here!

I totally agree with this! Sometimes if things are down on paper it's harder for a Board to ignore. Good luck, Beth! We are here for you!
