DDA Chapter 12

The only caffiene bothered me was when I was pregnant. My grandmother lectured me to death though that I wouldn't be able to sleep if I had it close to bed time. I could drink 2 pots of coffee and go right to sleep.

I can drink as many cups of coffee in the morning as I wish, but drinking anything with caffeine after about 2:00 in the afternoon is a recipe for disaster as I get older. I just totally forgot that not all Diet Dr. Pepper was caffeine-free!

Chanon - I hope Jimmy behaves for you today! ;) We did have a buffet, so people just seated themselves. We also didn't have that many people at our wedding so there wouldn't have been very many combinations! :rotfl:

I hope things are better too. We had 250 people at our wedding and it never once occurred to me to do a seating chart! I guess I figured everyone would get along and make nice and also make new friends. :confused3

Deb - I sure hope your day improves! It had a nasty start, that's for sure.

Theresa - hang on, Mama... it happens to the best of them.

Beth - I am glad to read that you won't settle for less than 1.5 the salary since you will be doing the work!

Thanks for all the anniversary wishes. I did make DH a card but he didn't get me one. I honestly don't care about a card but I am concerned that he didn't go out and get one yesterday. I'm sure he didn't forget. He told me last week he didn't go grocery shopping because he wasn't up for leaving the house.:scared1: It wasn't that he wasn't feeling well-just that he didn't want to leave the house. I didn't go grocery shopping on my way home from work so he would have to leave the house eventually last week but this isn't a good trend. I was hoping he'd enjoy having some time to himself with the kids all in school but he better not become too comfortable house bound. He went to Open House at Lizzy's school-I was thinking he could sign up for a few things but he didn't. Open House for Joe & Emma is this Thursday-maybe I should go and sign him up for a few things. He does well once he's involved in the situation he just doesn't like making the commitment. Last year he did some Plant Science stuff with Lizzy's class (he's certified to teach High School Agriculture) and he seemed to enjoy it and Lizzy really liked it too.

Janet-hope your back improves soon. Happy Birthday to Gary. Hope Garrett's eye heals nicely.

Thanks! I didn't get in touch with the director by phone yesterday, so I sent her an e-mail. She came in while we were finishing up today. They weren't thinking about paying me more. They were thinking about lowering the tuition for that class since there will be only one teacher. I told her that the parents were getting the same program that they had been but that I would have all the work to myself. She said, "Well, you certainly don't think that's worth double the pay, do you?" I told her that I would be ok with 1.5 times last year's pay. She needs to call all the other board members and will get back to my by the end of the week. I am a little ticked off and have decided that I will not do it for less than 1.5 times no matter what she comes back with. It just isn't worth it to me. I can't believe that they would think of lowering the cost of the program and not even consider that I should be paid more. UGH! I wish I didn't love the kids so much, because the rest of this job isn't worth it. Sorry for the vent, but I do think I feel a little better.
Unbelievable! Don't back down. Maybe the director would like to do it.

This is shaping up to be one yucky day.
Hope it improves quickly! Glad to hear Hunter is feeling better.

Back to work for me! Have good afternoons, everyone! :goodvibes

Elin-my SIL had a children's global art book-with all sorts of arts & crafts projects. One of the African crafts was to make a necklace pendant using those thin sheets of cork. I don't remember if they used a cookie cutter or not but those might be cute for ornaments and easy to do.

when Nick and Hunter were little we'd have them in a double stroller and people always asked if they were twin. As a matter of fact it never mattered what 2 kids were in the stroller we'd get the same question. Hunter/Nick, Hunter/Summer, Hunter/Colby or Colby/Logan. Logan and Colby are close in age and I still get asked that alot when I have them out together. Summer and Hunter are the same size even though there are 2 years difference so they get asked that too. Their reactions are much more comical than mine though :rotfl2:

During my morning escapaded I managed to misplace my cell phone. After a few anxious minutes Chris was able to find it in my car :rolleyes1 This is shaping up to be one yucky day.

I am sorry about the rotten, no good day.

Up until Cassidy "developed" I constantly got asked if my girls were twins...ummmm no. :rotfl:

Theresa, one of my three year olds just moved here from Littleton. Did you say you worked in a Lutheran church? They went to St. Philip Lutheran church. I'm sure there are a ton of churches in your area.

This guy is just too cute Elin!!!

St. Phillip's is on the other end of town (I think)....I work at Littleton United Methodist. Small world isn't it??

Jennifer, I loved the latest blog entry!! :goodvibes When Emma and my niece were babies someone asked if they were twins. Emma and Alyssa are 3 months apart and Emma is white and Alyssa is black. :rotfl: Clearly they were NOT twins!

But Stephanie and I ARE twins :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Robyn-Lucy is so cotton-picking cute:goodvibes

Good morning DDA!! Abi is home sick again today...one of my volunteer/friends has a theory and I think it may be holding true. She believes Abi may be getting awful tummy aches because she's starting to cycle. :upsidedow My baby is growing up and I don't wanna!!

How old is she? Katie is getting tummy aches, and headaches, and I'm wondering the same thing. If she's going to start, I'd just like her to start and get it going. She's so apprehensive about it, even though we've talked it all through, and she has supplies in her backpack in case it starts at school.

I love it! When I took care of Ben and Savannah, people often asked if they were identical. even knowing they were b/g twins! :rotfl:

Abi turned 12 in May so she'd be a late bloomer but she is still very apprehensive about it. I am going to have to ask if she has supplies in her backpack this year.

(way not part of this conversation...what school is it that I am requesting information for Cassidy from??:rotfl: )

The University of Utah.

Katie has really started developing and it's embarrassing for her. Luckily, she's now in the habit of wearing a bra, but it was a struggle!
