Good Morning All!!
While I haven't found my id yet I decided it wasn't the end of the world...just inconvenient!!
Since Colorado is poised to be a swing state in November we have Sarah Palin in town today and tomorrow and Barack Obama in the state today and tomorrow morning he will be at the School of Mines (where Jim works). This will be the 3rd President/Presidential nominee he will be in the vicinity for. He played at the first Bush's inaugration. We had both Clinton's at Rocky while we were there (Cassidy was a baby in the crowd) and now Obama.
Jim is interviewing today for the supervisor position at the school...he could use some prayers and pixie dust that way about 2:30 our time.

My weekend was a roller coaster ride.
We left here at around 3:30 PM for our camping trip. We were able to get our camper set up before any rain. My brother arrived in the rain so he had to deal with that. It rained until almost 9 PM. The campground has a haunted trail on Friday night. I couldn't believe the amount of people standing the the rain waiting to go on it. We waited it out and made it on the last wagon ride down to the trail. It was pretty good this year
After the walk we headed to bed. Actually Chris and the boys went to bed while I went on the trail. Hunter was so tired from the ear infection and/or meds. We were up early on Saturday. There was no rain, but it was very overcast. We ended up hanging out around the camper and Hunter even fell asleep in a lounge chair. Around 10 AM we decided to go to the Great Corn Maze which is an annual tradition. It took Hunter and I about 1 hour and 45 minutes to complete (of course we won the little race we had). Chris and Colby had exited earlier as Colby's feet were bothering him. We called the other 3 teams and told them the secret of the maze. 15 minutes later they all found their ways out. We stopped at a local farm and bought some Amish Peanut butter and other jams/jellies. We headed back to the campground. Hunter and Chris took a nap while I took the other boys to the pool. After their swim most of the family went mini golfing. I stayed in the camper and made dinner and read Kingdom Keepers 2. They all came back and we ate, did the dishes and got the kids into their costumes. They did their trick or treating and got lots of attention We made it back to the camper for a short break before the costume contest. Based on all the comments the boys got while trick or treating we though Nick would win. In the end Nick aka Mr. Potato Head took 3rd place and Colby aka zombie ghoul took second. A little girl dressed as a plant took 1st 
We headed back to camp and sat by the fire for awhile before heading in to pick up as much as possible. We were in bed by 11 PM. I finished my book (it was very good by the way ) We were up at 6 AM It took us 55 minutes to get hooked on, packed up and ready to hit the road. Nick and Colby stayed with Papa as they weren't going to the race. They ended up getting home about an hour and a half after us since it was pouring. We headed off to the race around 9:15. Traffic wasn't bad until about 8 miles from the race. At that point the traffic was barely moving. That is when my car decided to overheat 
Of course we were in the middle lane of traffic at the time. I had to keep shutting the car off to keep the temperature down. We finally made it to the left lane (which was actually the breakdown lane, but it was being used as a traffic lane) we found a driveway and pulled off. After the car cooled Chris was able to diagnose the problem. The radiator cap was not working properly so it was letting radiator fluid out of the tank into the overflow resevoir, but it wasn't sucking it back in as is should have been. I had brought 3 bottles of flavored water for the race. Those went into the radiator and while the tank wasn't full it worked. We slowly made it to a parking spot. The good news was that the pouring rain stopped just as we parked. We trudged through the mud and made it to the track. After a bit of exploring the exhibits and buying Hunter a race shirt (I got one too 
) We went to our seats. They weren't too bad except that everyone around us was smoking and the wind was blowing it in our faces 
About 50 laps in I had an allergic reaction and broke out in hives. I must admit I was scared as I wasn't sure what I was reacting too. I thought it must have been the smoke, but I had never reacted before. I finally figured out that the wind, while not cold, was cold enough to cause my allergy to the cold to act up. I threw my fleece jacket over my legs and hand and eventually the hives subsided. Of course I was also battling a nasty sore throat. The rest of the race was uneventful. We had fun and Hunter really enjoyed the whole experience. He was very clingy to me from Friday morning up until we got home on Sunday night. I know that he wasn't feeling well, but I also know he enjoyed having Mom and Dad to himself.
We took our time leaving the stands as Hunter and I had rented a fan view scanner and had to return it. It took us an hour or so to walk to the car and we spent the next 1 hour and 45 minutes moving exactly 1.2 miles. The traffic was so bad. I was in park more than in drive. I was very happy that the car was working fine. Once we made it to the main road traffic was moving right alone. We made it about half way home when the car decided to overheat again. We pulled off the first exit. Of course there was NOTHING off the exit. We headed down a road that follows along the interstate thinking that eventually we would find a store or restaurant or something. We passed 2 more on ramps to the interstate before we finally happened upon a lake. I found a little dock area that I could fill the water bottles from. After the car cooled down, Chris was able to use the light from his cell phone to add the water to the radiator. We refilled all the bottles and put them in the car and headed off again. Thankfully that fixed the problem enough to get home. Chris will be repairing it TODAY.
I did learn that while we do not often have car issues they can happen. I need to put a flashlight and water in my trunk. I will also put some antifreeze and extra oil along with a blanket (that I did have). Sometimes I need a reminder as I take things for granted. I'm so glad that I wasn't alone with the kids at the time.
The good news is that Hunter is feeling better. I feel like crap, but it is just a cold and will pass.
This morning I completely forgot that I was supposed to be finger printed for the sub job. My brain is certainly not running on all cylinders. I ended up rescheduling for the 29th.
While my weekend was busy and sometimes trying reading about all the bad weather and misfortunes of many of you I now feel like my bad luck was trivial.

I dropped the huge can of chili beans on my right foot last night. 
Then this morning I stepped down wrong after messing with our fire alarm and walked to work. My foot is now swollen and purple...if it's not one thing it's another

to all affected by the weather. That is scary!
We had some winds last night, but nothing that did any damage. We have only leaves and small branches down, and there was no loss of power in the area.
I started my TR for our trip "Out West." The link is in my signature. Unfortunately for you, it's all stuff you've seen before. But at least it's in one place. I had no idea how much time this was going to take! Now I fully understand why TRs take people months and months to write sometimes.

DH called at 6 AM to tell me he was finished for the day.
He ROBBED me of my last 30 minutes of sleep! Princess is a little congested but she was well enough for school.
Momboss wants a performance report on the housekeeper. That won't be pretty. The housekeeper is the absolute nicest woman, but she doesn't clean very well. She never vacuums the furniture, she doesn't vacuum behind anything, she doesn't use the attachments to vacuum edges, corners, etc., she just isn't very thorough. She spends hours back in the bedrooms but I don't know what she does back there. She vacuums Princess's room and I think that's it! I think she is pretty thorough in the bathrooms, but I think she kind of blows through the rest of the house.

Which is why I no longer have a housekeeper! I decided my money was too important to give to someone who wasn't doing their job... not even as well as I did! And since I don't like to clean that is saying a LOT!

Elin - All of the nannies (well, all of my friends) work in houses with housekeepers and NONE of the housekeepers really do a good job! Whenever housekeepers come up in conversation (or when one of the bosses is looking for one) we all kind of go "Ehh..." There was a housekeeper a couple of jobs back who was terrific, BUT I am not sure how to get in touch with her. She was very conscientious and I worked with her for a LONG time. The quality of her work never declined. My cousin uses "The Maids" and loves them, but when I called them they wanted over $100 a week to clean our 1100 sq. ft. apartment. YIKES! 
I watched that "Bonnie Hunt" show this morning. Thumbs down.
Robyn - I just realized the Saturday morning you and Emma are here is Race For the Cure. I am still deciding if I want to get up and be at the Start line by 7 AM or whatever. (The mall opens at 10 AM so they are finished by then.) I will be awake because they use these nuclear grade loud speakers, but I need to decide if we are going to go over there or just make a donation. I think DS wants to participate. I'll ask him. That is also the rain date for the Band car wash, but we might have to blow off the car wash.

If anyone needs a car rental in the near future, National has an E-coupon on their website (maybe just for Emerald Aisle?) for $30 off a rental of a compact for 5 or more days. I just got a compact car for the 6 days we are there this month for under $70! We won't need cabs for dinner ADRs and we won't have to leave WDW so early on our last day to make our 9:00 p.m. flight. Also, no need for that carryon of a change of clothing anymore. 
I also just shipped the two boxes to myself at the Poly this morning. $35 got us fresh ground coffee and filters, 12 bottles of water, a case of beer, a wine opener, snacks and books for Bob to read and eat while I am out gallivanting in the parks. Priceless!

I had the exact same issue....I had a crew of 5 blow through the house....it was hit or miss as to the clean factor.
The awkward part was that it was the neighbor's business.....so I did feel somewhat bad canceling

Kristine - My ExBosses had a group of a mom and 3 daughters who would clean. They would show up in all different combos, anywhere from 2 to 4 of them. The mom was AWESOME (she would clean the silverware caddy inside the drawer, wipe out the shelves in the fridge, etc.) but the girls were more the "blow through the house" type. On the other hand, that family was SOOOO messy they wouldn't have been able to find anybody else to take on the task.
The house only stayed clean for about 5 hours each week - the span from when the girls finished cleaning until I went home that evening.- Status
