 :wizard:  :wizard:  :wizard:  :wizard: to all that has been and will be, affected by nasty weather.

Checking in! :wave2:

We never lost power, but I lost energy tending to little ones. :upsidedow

Most schools are closed in Cincinnati. It's a little funny that all the stations have snow graphics as the school names scroll by.

My MIL is on vacation, so Kevin checked on her house. Her next door neighbor's tree fell on the house on the other side. A break for MIL, but a big headache for everyone who sustained major damage. There were a few fatalities too. :(

Lots of people without power, but hopefully that will be restored quickly. We have ballet today, and depending on the kids' moods, I might run yesterday's errands.

I better get moving. Thank you for the prayers, and you all continue to be in my thoughts, too! :wizard:

Have a good Monday, DDA! :grouphug:

Thanks for checking in with a report, Amy. I hope clean-up is not going to be too bad. Sounds like Ike was not about to give up easily! Watching the Steelers-Browns game last night was so very odd. The rain and wind swirling through the stadium looked more like winter-type weather!

Good morning, DDA! I am hoping this is more what we will be today...

Elizabeth congratulations on your personal milestone! I hope princess is not sick :wizard:

Stephanie I am hoping we can can meet up with you & Terry, even if it is only for a few minutes :goodvibes

Chanon & Amy glad to hear you are all ok. Hope everyone else checks in soon!

:woohoo: Chuck and I are on the phone and he just said that we can go to Disney 4 times next year. He said we could go in June and I said the DDA would be there in August. He said "Ok, we'll go in August". Woohoo!!!!!! He says we'll take our week long trip in March, the trip in August, sometime for F&WF, and then maybe Christmas. I reminded him that we have to go Jan. 2010 because I want to run the full marathon.

It's a good thing I'm getting some good overtime this week!!!! :rotfl: Chuck better pick up a couple of extra classes at the college too.

Have I told you how awesome a husband I have. :cloud9: :lovestruc

And I'm not jealous at all...;) Good for you! You deserve it.

Elizabeth -- I hope your Mom has a good week. Hopefully Princess isn't sick and you don't have to take her to the pediatrician's office.

I hope everyone is safe. Ike has really caused significant problems across the country. I feel sorry for all the people who can't go home yet or who can and found their houses/businesses demolished. The people that didn't evacuate but they just didn't want to... that's a different story. They are complaining about lack of services (water, electricity, and emergency water/food services) but they aren't supposed to be where they are. :confused3

Sports this week if it's dry enough (Jake's team practices indoors), open house, football game for the nephew etc. this week.

Have a good day everyone!

Marci, don't get me started on the people who refused to leave after they were told mandatory evacuation.

I hate hate hate when the military helicopters fly over head. :headache: One just flew by and it shook the house. :scared1:

I have decided that in order for me to have a less stressful pregnancy, you all have to move to Utah where I can keep an eye on you. We don't have hurricanes, rarely have tornadoes (1 in my 41 years of life), beautiful seasons (at least 4 of them, and sometimes 6), great scenery, and we're really close to Disneyland.

I know you all want me to have a restful end to the pregnancy, so I'm expecting to see you all jump on this bandwagon! Who's first to sign up???;)

We live in Vermont for many of the same reasons. Other than blizzards we have pretty tame weather.

Robyn - Hmm. Not all of that stuff looks like stuff I would eat, so even after 50 choices I don't think it would diminish my love of sweets.
You are lucky to have girls, because when it is time for the "birds and bees" talk there are TONS of books. There are like 2 books for boys, and they actually have a little bit too much info for boys who are only 10 or 11. I just sucked it up and bought a book with a little bit more graphic info because I would rather have DS get accurate info. The books are in his room where he can look at them any time, and he can ask questions if he has them. They had a little presentation at school where he got a couple of brochures, but I am sure it wasn't nearly as comprehensive as I would have liked.

I have had those talks with the boys many times. Last year Nick had sex ed in health. Of course he didn't mention it to me:rolleyes1 At the end of the year I asked him how the info I gave him was compared to what he learned in school. After the initial embarassment of me bringing it up he said I did ok, I only missed covering wet dreams  True enough that had never crossed my mind:teacher:

This was such a hard weekend to not have internet access. I watched the weather channel and feared for those in Ike's path. I had no idea of what our Ohio friends were going through :sad2: I had 30 pages to read today, and I read everyword, trying to find out what had happened. It seems that Karen is the only one that hasn't checked in at this point. It seems that in most cases our prayers were answered and the DDA friends and family faired well. I'm so sorry for what you went through, but thankful that you have your lives and homes. I still pray that is true for Karen's family

Checking in.....it's finally sunny. I am grateful the rain has ended. Our neighborhood is in clean up mode...all water has receded....the south end of town is still dealing with standing water...power outages etc. The high school took in water and is closed. Our school are open....

Debbie did you all have a nice weekend camping? How was the race & is Hunter feeling better?

Good Morning All!!

While I haven't found my id yet I decided it wasn't the end of the world...just inconvenient!!

Since Colorado is poised to be a swing state in November we have Sarah Palin in town today and tomorrow and Barack Obama in the state today and tomorrow morning he will be at the School of Mines (where Jim works). This will be the 3rd President/Presidential nominee he will be in the vicinity for. He played at the first Bush's inaugration. We had both Clinton's at Rocky while we were there (Cassidy was a baby in the crowd:goodvibes ) and now Obama.

Jim is interviewing today for the supervisor position at the school...he could use some prayers and pixie dust that way about 2:30 our time.
