That looks nice. I don't think that I've ever seen a veil worn under the bun. It think I like it though.

:woohoo: Congrats to Nicholas & his team!

Lizzy always had that problem of I think her hips too big for slims but regulars too big in the waist. She does best with The Children's Place regulars with the elastic button adjusters in the waist band. Many other brand regulars are just way too big even with the adjusters. I've been able to get most of her pants at the outlet at some really great prices.
I took her to Kohl's. They have the adjustable waists and their prices are right. :thumbsup2 Even with the waist adjusted in, she has so much bagginess in the butt and hips. I'm going to look at Old Navy and a few other stores too. Maybe they will have jeans with different cuts.

It will be easier to remove once the reception starts. It'll just be bobby pinned in - the comb is "backwards" for wearing it this way. If we went over the top, it'd be really hard to remove and keep the curls curled.
I'm amazed that she did all of that freform - just bobby pins and a curling iron.

This guy is just too cute Elin!!!

ETA - from christmas central.com

I agree! He is adorable, as are the elephant and tiger on that site. Price is not bad either. But they are BIG... 5-inches. Don't you think that would be too big for a 3 1/2 tree?

Wow, I was thinking hot rollers. Did she put some kind of product in your hair to hold it?

Happy birthday to Katrina as well!

Chanon - you look beautiful! I really like how you will be wearing your hair. I can't wait to see pictures of the real thing!

I hope all the sick ones out there are on the mend! :wizard:

Hairspray. That's it. It's a new salon so she has to buy some AquaNet and brown bobby pins..those where the only new things to buy by next Saturday. :rotfl: The product she has there is not very "sticky" for updos'.

Hi everyone! I've missed chatting with you all. My parents left this morning. I've been reading and keeping up, but I didn't take the time to post. We had a nice visit. Nicholas' team played really well at their game on Saturday. They ended up winning 28-0. There is a rule in football at this level that if one team has more than 25 pts and the other team has 0, the lead team can't get the ball back until the other team scores. At that point they put in our second string defensive, which included Nicholas as Right Tackle. He ended up on his tushy a few times, but the second string kept them from getting a TD the whole 4th quarter. My dad enjoyed watching the kids play. Saturday afternoon we spent the day around the house, trimming bushes. Then we went out to dinner and some shopping. I need to buy Alyssa some new jeans but she is between sizes. She's too fat for 7 slims and too skinny for 7 regular.

Elin - Sunday afternoon I took my parents on the trolley tour. We had a different guide, who pronounced Rappahannock correctly, but she left out talking about some stuff. :confused3

It's good to be back. :goodvibes:

sounds like the Trolley Company needs some quality control!

I am glad you had a good visit with your parents. Saturday was a perfect day to take the tour!

it looks lovely, Chanon. :lovestruc

G'night, everyone. I'm going to go put my feet up. I've been having Braxton/Hicks all evening, and it's got me a bit freaked out!

Sit down, rest and drink lots of fluids. I had braxton/hicks from 20 weeks on with Hunter and Colby. Hopefully that is all that it is.

You take care Glynis. Those were scarry driving from taking one kid to the DR and home!!!

Jennifer, I loved the latest blog entry!! :goodvibes When Emma and my niece were babies someone asked if they were twins. Emma and Alyssa are 3 months apart and Emma is white and Alyssa is black. :rotfl: Clearly they were NOT twins!

It is possible, but unlikely to have black and white twins.

My brother and I used to get asked all the time if we were twins. We are 22 months apart.

I was precisely 12 and 6 months. The thing is, girls are starting earlier and earlier now. (There have been some articles that say it is from the growth hormones added to cows' milk, but I'm not sure if that's true or not.) The trend over the past 2 decades has put girls starting as early as 9! :scared1:

I started at 12, my Mom started at 9, her Mom started at 16. Talk about all over the spectrum. I was hoping to be like my Grandma.

I never heard of a Golden Birthday until you guys talked about it either. Mine would have been my 11th.

Tammi- Did you try size 8 slims?? According to size charts, the waist of those would be in between a 7 slim and a 7 regular. How they figure that I have no clue. Good job Nicholas.

Channon- I like your hair.

Glynis- Hope the Braxton Hicks stop. Take it easy.

I need to go to sleep. Getting up before 5am is for the birds. I am awake now, I could have easily fallen asleep at 2pm.

Night All!

Kristine Have a great cruise.

Glynis -- FLUIDS! Keep them up! :goodvibes

No golden birthday for me--it wouldh ave been my 18th...
We actually just made plans for my birthday in october--its on a saturday so im going out --yay!!

Hooray! :cool1:

We're home from the football game. It costs $2 per person to get in. Useful info since NOBODY seemed to be able to figure that out! I guess the asst. band guy decided half time of the second game was long enough, so he let the kids go home at 7:30. Of course we were being told 8:30 earlier today, so it sounds like some of those kids may be stuck at school for another hour!

The bus for the thing tomorrow isn't leaving until 5 PM. That's an important little detail, don't you think? Since school gets out at 3:30 I don't want DS to sit there for 90 minutes. Not sure if DS is going to that competition or not. We shall see. I don't think he needs to "observe" other bands for more than 3 hours, especially if he has a lot of homework!

I'm sorry you're having seemingly endless frustration with the band! :flower3:

I was about 13 1/2, I don't really remember. All I know is that ever since I got it I've wished it would never come again :rotfl:

...

Mine would have been my 18th too. I was at college for that birthday :goodvibes

Don't we all! :sad2: I was at college for my 18th, too! I don't meet a lot of us ;) Strange, no, to go to college at 17? It was so weird to have to send home (or forge :rolleyes1 ) forms, etc :rotfl:

My day certainly got more interesting. We have a new head chef at the restaurant as the former head chef/owner is moving to Oregon. The new Guy started today with his brother/assistant. There are a lot of changes. I think overall it will be great and hopefully will breathe some new life into the restaurant. I can see lots of bumps along the road in the next few weeks. He has already removed all the microwaves that they used to use. Everything will be cooked to order without cutting corners. He has also come up with some interesting and new specials. We no longer are cutting the vegetables for the salad bar and we aren't plateing the french fries. It was a learning experience to say the least.

I plan to go in early tomorrow morning to print the new menus. Colby took a long nap today and went to bed early so I have my fingers crossed that he is not getting sick. Hunter still has an earache so I'm hoping that the meds are working. He seems to be able to go longer periods without the numbing meds so maybe things are getting better. He asked me to give him his meds during the night instead of in the morning as it worked well today. Not having the ear drops clogging up his ears right before school worked better for him.

I hope your boys get (and stay!) healthy soon! Good luck at work!

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!! It's very similar to how mine was, front and back!

I never would have thought of it really (for reasons mentioned -- just curling iron, veil under, etc) but I think it looks beautiful, and so classy!

Your highlights look great, even when it's up! She did a great job! :goodvibes

New wedding question -- I know we saw your dress, but I'm drawing a blank  How does it bustle?! I love weddings, and wedding pictures! Yours is so close! :yay:

This whole sleep thing is really throwing me off! (Not that I'm complaining!) I've gotten to sleep until about 4am the last few days () but then it's too close to my internal alarm's "wake time", and I can't go back to sleep. I like getting up at 5 or 5:30. 3:30 or 4? Eh, ot so much!

I have no car this morning (mom is borrowing Kyle's while waiting for a new one later this week, Kyle will take mine to work) so I'll be home, on the computer a lot to get caught up on some things before we leave. We head to Chicago around lunchtime, as soon as Kyle can sign out to the MD covering him. I'm so excited! It's a super short trip, but SO long overdue! :faint:

I'll check in at least once before then. Right now, I'm off to feed stirring girls.

Make it a great day, DDA! :goodvibes

OMG Becky, I just read that article! "In-vitro mixup" with one set?! :faint: That prospect scared the daylights out of me right before and after delivery! :scared1: :rotfl: I'm so glad every time I look at the girls that they resemble Kyle and I! (Honestly!)

I'm not a terrible parent, the girls never did really wake up ;) Still, I think I'm going to wake them (). I made bottles nearly an hour ago, so they need eaten! :rotfl:

Now really, bye! :goodvibes
