DDA Chapter 11

Theresa congratulations & no need to feel guilty!

Jennifer I don't like a dirty house either, but cleaning is not a favorite of mine lol

Have a great day all!

Haven't you seen the commercials? they say its easier for men to loose weight.

Yep! (Brat.) We both worked out together for the first four months of the year. He lost 30 pounds. I lost 5. (Brat.)

Nice pics, Becky and Chanon! :thumbsup2

We're home from meeting DS's teachers. I am completely confused on Band. We got a calendar with all sorts of stuff on it, no clue if DS is supposed to be there for that stuff or not, 2 of them are auditions at places I have never heard of and NOT during school hours. Whatever! He is going to have to go to a couple of football games, but it is literally TWO games. Hope we can handle that.

The teachers all seem OK. They do NOT have Snap Grades this year for us to log on and see the grades! :headache: The district changed to some other system that is mandatory for the teachers to use, but there is no way for parents to log into it!

DS has a big project on the election due in November that he never mentioned. :rolleyes1 If anybody has any presedential election materials will you PLEASE send them to us? He needs brochures, fliers, whatever and I swear we haven't gotten anything like that! He needs stuff from all of the candidates. 10 articles on the presidential race, 2 articles on other US races, 5 articles on other TX races, 2 cartoons, campaign pamphlets, stickers, etc. He also has to write an essay.

OK. Now I am tired! Chat with you all tomorrow!
In the center of our town we have offices for the canidates...do you have anything like that? Or call a college - we also have republican and democratic clubs on campus. They might have supplies for you to use.
I did it!!! :cool1: :cool1: I have airfare and hotel paid for my "air" weekend.

I have never, ever done anything so extravagent for myself. :goodvibes (there was a lot of guilt to do it, but sanity won out)
Whhooo Hoooo!!! :dance3:

So Nick came home with a "permission form" for us to complete for an upcoming field trip. There was no explanation of a field trip and the form was a waiver of liability from a camp that I had never heard of. Um, call me silly, but why would I sign that kind of form for something that I am not aware of? Nick says he needs it for tomorrow so I guess I'll accompany him to school in the morning. I wonder how many parents just blindly sign these things?:confused3

That sounds like something our school would do!

Yay! I know you will have a great time!

I saw stuff at that women's expo but I didn't bring any home since I didn't know I was going to NEED it. I'll have to see if there is some sort of campaign thing around here somewhere.

Marci, sorry you are in a funk! Do you have some lovely brooding music? I have been listening to The Smiths today while I brood. I think Princess kind of digs The Smiths. Brooding music doesn't make you brood less, it just makes you brood better. ;) I am cranky for all kinds of reasons, it isn't going to get better, so I think I will wallow in it for awhile.
I hate that Andrew is having homework issues. :guilty: We have those days.

OK, can I just say how bizarre I find that statement? With all of the things she has been through in her life, the thing that is going to push Merrie over the edge is her TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS? Think about that for a minute, and you will burst out laughing. I did, anyway.

So that's what my problem was...I'll have to find some good brooding music! ;)

Well, you know Merrie was an actress... There is too much drama around my office with 99% females...

I'm glad that Dadboss was okay. The door sounds like a good place for a vinyl cling or sticker...

vodka doesn't stain either

:rotfl:

Good news- I no longer have a fracture in my foot. The part that was fractured is still much narrower then the rest of the bone. So I have to wear the walking boot for 2 more weeks. Then I can start wearing shoes. I have to go back again on October 21st to make sure everything is still good. The doctor seemed surprised and impressed that it was healing on its own.

Thanks for all the good thoughts!:goodvibes

That is terrific news!

But I LOVE Lucky's and the Round Up! :rotfl:
I don't get out much. I shop. A lot. But I don't really do lots of touristy, interesting, fun things. Most of our dining is done in chain restaurants.

What does Emma want to see and do, other than the American Girl store? What sort of food does she like?

Marci - Any thoughts? We need to see if Lindsay is free, too. :)

I'm terrible at this, but I know Lindsay has to entertain potential interns all of the time. She'll be able to help us. I think UT plays in Austin that day, so she might be out of town, though.

There are large headquarters in Dallas for both parties. I think the R one is over off of Greenville Ave.

I did it!!! :cool1: :cool1: I have airfare and hotel paid for my "air" weekend.

Good for you. You are worth it and you deserve it. Happy planning!

Chanon -- great gifts and cute pics!

More rain for today and tomorrow, with cooler temps but 95% humidity...ugh!

I'm going to see my friend who has colon cancer today to get my hair trimmed and roots colored. She's working the weeks between chemo. It will be great to catch up with her.

Good morning all!!!

My kids have their second late start Wednesday of the year:rolleyes: and I am making Abi stay home...she has her sister's stinking cold. I would rather keep her home for the 4 hours that she'd be in school than end up her being sick for longer. Though it was nice that she fought me on it because she wants to be at school:goodvibes . I called Cassidy out for her last period on Monday (she couldn't miss Chem...too hard to make up unless your deathly ill).

I think my mom was a little miffed that for my running away weekend I chose one of you over her. When I explained I wasn't going to be alone for the weekend she said she figured it was like that. Sometimes dealing with my mom is like dealing with Cassidy. Add in my grandma and I've got disfunction soup.

Speaking of grandma...she called me at work saying she missed me....well if you wouldn't be a right royal witch to me on my birthday maybe I would feel guilty for avoiding you for 3 months. :guilty:

Theresa I hope Abi is feels better fast. How are the rest of you feeling?

I think the girls got it the worst...I have a little bit of it (which doesn't help my mood) and Jim is just dealing with allergies (I think)

Has this ever happened to you all:

I KNOW I read all of page 221 but when I went to 222 there were a lot quoted posts from that page that I didn't see,:confused3 , anyway:

Yeah!! Becky...no fracture!!:cool1:

Elizabeth-glad Dadboss is okay. On my second trip to FL I was entertained immensely by an obviously drunk lady that walked into the mirrored wall right beside us twice and twice into a sliding glass door. :rotfl2:

Deb-glad you talked to your boss about the doorknob (co-worker)

Just a reminder I'm taking information for the DDA ornament exchange...I haven't received as many as I have in the past....I may end up sending to myself at this rate:lmao:

I did send you my info, didn't I? Pregnancy brain is not allowing me to remember!

Thank you Glynis!!!

Thank you Janet!!!

You are most welcome!!!

And I am so EXCITED!!!!! We are going to have a great time!!! Wish more of you DDA'ers could be with us, but we'll think about you!

I ended up cancelling my volunteer hours at the school yesterday. I went to Target and ended up getting a terrible headache and dizziness. I left everything, got in my car, and immediately headed home. I fixed a cheese sandwich, and got into bed where I stayed the remainder of the day.

Since my first passing out incident, I pay really close attention. I think that I'm having some caffeine withdrawals. My doctor told me I could have regular diet coke for a while, since my BP was so low. Now that it's ok, I've been cutting back, and it really hit me hard yesterday. So, I slept, ate cheese sticks and almonds, and just relaxed. Alan managed to come home early and take care of dinner, so that was great for me!

I'm much better today! So, I'm off to Costco to pick up toilet paper, yogurt and more cheese sticks! Talk to y'all later!

Anyone know where I can find cheap plant stands?? I'm looking for about 30 inches tall with a wide base...they will be put on carpeting and sometimes that carpeting wobbles when you walk on it and we've seen plants fall.

...my second option are those wooden end tables with three legs - you buy them flat at walmart or target and screw the legs in...but of course, I can't find them anywhere either.

I managed to run my errands this morning. I have a 30% off coupon at Kohls so I had to check out that store. I only bought a few things, but with the clearance plus 30% they were good deals. I found a white swim cap for Chris so I may be able to pull off humpty dumpty, but Mr. Potato Head is my project for the day. I "think" that I have all my supplies on hand now. I just need to find a little quiet time to pull it off.

please take care of yourself!!:goodvibes

 :dance3: :yay: :cool1: I'm very proud of you for doing something wonderful for yourself. You deserve it!!! Of course, I'm jealous of Glynis, but hey she wins by being closest. ;)

Glynis - Sounds like you took care of yourself nicely yesterday. I hope today is better.

Chanon - I don't know where you could get those tables if Target and Walmart didn't have them. Maybe a larger craft store for the plant stand or even the tables?

Deb - I can't wait to see the Mr Potato Head. I'm sure it will be great. Mom got a 30% coupon too so we've got to get there this weekend. I would use some jeans that fit as could Terra. Maybe some good clearance shopping as well.

Marci - Hope today finds you feeling a little better.

Theresa - Hope the girls are feeling better today and that yours doesn't get any worse.
