DDA Chapter 11

I started to send the car to work with Phil today. Apparently, for the sake of getting stuff done, I should have as it took us 3 hours to make it back home. First we stopped for breakfast, then at Mom's store to talk to her for a minute, then what was supposed to be a quick run to Aldi. Instead, we ran into the Hobby Lobby next door and ended up being there for almost an hour, I'm sure. I did just what I was looking for a notebook for our daily itinerary info. Terra also got a canvas bag to carry her stuff in. It is the perfect size and was 50% off to boot.

Of course, I've still got a long list of things to done, but other than laundry I don't think many of them are very long. Terra also offered to help me with one more job than she had already chosen in exchange for buying her a little treasure box. It was cheap and I was impressed by her offer, bargin shopping and negotiation so I agreed.

 :dance3: :yay: :cool1: I'm very proud of you for doing something wonderful for yourself. You deserve it!!! Of course, I'm jealous of Glynis, but hey she wins by being closest. ;)

you also will be in Disney at the time, silly.

If this works out (which I am sure it will!!) it may be an annual thing. Pick a DDA'er (or 2) and do a short visit. First up would be the DDA'ers I haven't met yet.

Good morning all!!!

My kids have their second late start Wednesday of the year:rolleyes: and I am making Abi stay home...she has her sister's stinking cold. I would rather keep her home for the 4 hours that she'd be in school than end up her being sick for longer. Though it was nice that she fought me on it because she wants to be at school:goodvibes . I called Cassidy out for her last period on Monday (she couldn't miss Chem...too hard to make up unless your deathly ill).

I think my mom was a little miffed that for my running away weekend I chose one of you over her. When I explained I wasn't going to be alone for the weekend she said she figured it was like that. Sometimes dealing with my mom is like dealing with Cassidy. Add in my grandma and I've got disfunction soup.

Speaking of grandma...she called me at work saying she missed me....well if you wouldn't be a right royal witch to me on my birthday maybe I would feel guilty for avoiding you for 3 months. :guilty:

Families aren't really all that fun a lot of the time.
Hope the girls are feeling better soon! :wizard:

I ended up cancelling my volunteer hours at the school yesterday. I went to Target and ended up getting a terrible headache and dizziness. I left everything, got in my car, and immediately headed home. I fixed a cheese sandwich, and got into bed where I stayed the remainder of the day.

Since my first passing out incident, I pay really close attention. I think that I'm having some caffeine withdrawals. My doctor told me I could have regular diet coke for a while, since my BP was so low. Now that it's ok, I've been cutting back, and it really hit me hard yesterday. So, I slept, ate cheese sticks and almonds, and just relaxed. Alan managed to come home early and take care of dinner, so that was great for me!

I'm much better today! So, I'm off to Costco to pick up toilet paper, yogurt and more cheese sticks! Talk to y'all later!

I'm glad you are feeling better today! Good to hear you are taking care of yourself! :)

Anyone know where I can find cheap plant stands?? I'm looking for about 30 inches tall with a wide base...they will be put on carpeting and sometimes that carpeting wobbles when you walk on it and we've seen plants fall.

...my second option are those wooden end tables with three legs - you buy them flat at walmart or target and screw the legs in...but of course, I can't find them anywhere either.

Our big florals came with stands from the florist. We had to give the stands back to her, but that's what we used.

I finished all of my errands by 10:30 this morning. After that I stopped at Ross and Marshall's but they didn't have anything fabulous. We found out last night that the band uniforms have changed this year. Instead of red band shirt and black pants (which we have from last year) NOW we need a plain black polo and TAN pants. :headache: Fine. Whatever. At some point I will have to go to Gap and get those since that is the most likely place to find them.

Princess is supposed to have play group at the park after school, but she was so tired after school on Monday I don't know if she will be up for it! Besides, it is all cloudy and yucky out. Not to mention that we aren't really friends with ANY of the people in that group. Princess prefers her classmates to the kids in that play group, so I won't be sad if we miss it.

...and our model for today...

So cute!!!

Our camping trip was great! After 4" of rain on Thurs and a very misty, damp Fri we weren't too sure anymore. However it was wonderful. Beautiful temps, no rain, lots of sun. Terra earned her "Junior Naturalist" patch by attending a snake talk, night hike and collecting recycling around the campground. She is so proud of it!

Yesterday we spent a glorious day at the zoo. Then, today we took Danae to the Science Center while Wendy and Michael had their big day of appts. Tomorrow is a big trip working day as we start some packing, etc. 10 more days!!! (Of course, I'm a little bummed about the free dining pin for Nov/Dec that I received today as that's when I really wanted to go, but still...10 days!)

How is everyone?
Sounds like fun!

Stephanie even called the specific office that is to receive this report to tell them it would be a day late and happened to mention she was using a little white-out and the lady on the other end of the line said she was going to be disappointed because our person who usually does this report always sends it Colored Coded!!!:lmao:
:rotfl2: Colored Coded makes if more fun!:rotfl2:

Ooh, tell me more. A detailer? I need to probably do this (crap), because my car is fairly new (8.5 months) and I know I won't be able to get it as clean as I need to, or would like! :sad2:
Yes, I used a detailer. I think I paid about $100 for my minivan. It was well worth it!!!!

Hope the rest helps Abi feel better. My kids have next Monday off.

Don't feel guilty about your escape-you need it and deserve it!!!!

Sounds like you took good care of yourself.

Ikea? Can you look for an unfinished furniture store near you?

Terra is so sweet!

Glynis- I am glad you feeling bad was short lived. :wizard:

Theresa- :cool1: for airfare and hotel!! :wizard: for the girls!

Tia- :cool1: not much longer!!!

Jennifer- Is Virginia taking any more steps? Lucy is definitely trying more but she still only manages about 12 and she can't turn.

Chanon- That's a cute model you got living with you!!

I know I read more but it's escaping me at the moment. :wizard: and 's

Jennifer- Is Virginia taking any more steps? Lucy is definitely trying more but she still only manages about 12 and she can't turn.

not really, she will stand independently for about 1 sec then plop down and crawl. She is walking along holding on to almost everything though.

I have a feeling I am going to forget something or Olivia is going to end up finding out before next Sat.

If I am up trying to do stuff Virginia thinks she should be in my arms. If I try to go in Virginia's room and maybe do some packing Olivia try's to come in the room.

 :dance3: :yay: :cool1: I'm very proud of you for doing something wonderful for yourself. You deserve it!!! Of course, I'm jealous of Glynis, but hey she wins by being closest. ;)

It's one of the only times I'll win out over WDW, but I'LL TAKE IT!!!!! :thumbsup2

I like that idea, Theresa!!!

Lucy didn't start cruising until mid July so Virginia will be walking before you know it!!

I so am! I am going to be totally ready by the time you come here! Nothing is going to mar our time together!!!

You two are going to have a blast!!!!

OMG!! For the 1st time ever my wait list for DVC came through!! :yay::yay::yay:

my plan was to do 2 nights at boardwalk before the cruise....and then do another 5 nights after the cruise...all I could get was Old Key West...so I waitlisted for BWV & BC...and boardwalk came through.

the disney portion of the trip is 9/22-10/1

Eric just called from the dentist. Both of the girls had appointments today with a new dentist (actually it's Eric's dentist from when he was a kid). Mo has no cavities!! A big step up from the 5 she had last time. But Emma needs to see an orthodontist. That is not what I wanted to hear at all. It seems her mouth is crowded. So not looking forward to that at all.
