DDA Chapter 11

You want them in two places - one should be offsite. I am bad and haven't done mine yet but I plan to make two sets of CDs and remove them from my laptop. Currently I have them on my laptop and some on my external hard drive. One set of CDs will go in my safety deposit box. I have my old negatives in the safety deposit box now.

We have a fireproof box that has all of our negatives in it. We probably need to go through them and just keep the ones we would want to reprint. But UGH! what a task! There were some guys at the expo last weekend who have a service that they will transfer your negatives to CD. You pay a monthly fee for the service, and you buy different levels depending on what sort of media you have and how much needs to be converted. They do videotapes to DVD, all sorts of conversions. I don't really want to get that deep into it, but I do want to go through the negatives one of these days.

Right now the trip pics are all on disc and the desktop. There was one set I couldn't fit on disc so I loaded the whole set to PhotoBucket so at least I have a back up.

Glynis - Please tell Katie that we tried her toffee dessert tonight and it was DELICIOUS!! And so very easy to make. :goodvibes

Bernadette, Anne Marie & Beth I sent you all a PM with my email address, I would love to see your pictures!

Jennifer I can make the changes and email you the files. It will be easier than uploading everything to a host site. What are the errors?

Jennifer I love the invites & Deb I love the borders you made for them :thumbsup2

Welcome home Becky!

Denise

Hi Vicki :wave2:

Debbie glad to hear it is calming down some around you.

Lindsay, I hope you have a great trip!

I think some people here read Kingdom Keepers a couple of years ago. Did you know that Kingdom Keepers II: Disney at Dawn came out earlier this week? I haven't had a chance to read it yet. Miles' friend recommended Kingdom Keepers to him a few months ago and told him that the new one was coming out. Miles borrowed Kingdom Keepers from his friend right after we returned from WDW and finished in a couple of days. I bought the second one for him, and he is reading it now.

No, I hadn't heard this. Thanks for the info. I've been looking for something to read.

Personally, I like the material, so I wouldn't mind it. I guess if it would bug Chris and the boys to sit on the flowers I wouldn't do it.

I agree -- I would like the seats done in it as well to tie it all together. Fantastic job, as usual!

Hi!!!!!!!!!!! We are back home!!!

We had a great time!

Hope everyone is doing well!:)

Love you pics and sig!

I definitely need the power of the DDA, I'm going to ask for pryers for a miracle, that somehow this storm fizzles out or at least doesn't reach the strength they are predicting. Asking that it just doesn't hit here feels wrong, as then it will spread it's devastation somewhere else.

The westbound interstate is almost at a standstill, and has been for at least four hours now. I'm confused as to why people from Louisiana are headed west instead of North. :confused3

And to make matters worse, Hannah is riding the coattail of Gustav. :sad2:

Oh my -- I'm glad everything seems to be okay so far. Your videos got progressively more scary to watch.

Debbie, like the afghans.

Me too!

My 90+ year old Dad is in the ICU. I'm on my way to Jersey.

I hope he is doing better. :wizard:

Oh and one last thing....Lucy is starting to take steps on her own!!!! She do about 5 at a time. She gets so excited though that she quickly falls downs!

Yeah Lucy!

I need another round of prayers and Pixie Dust. Just before we lost power today I got a phone call from my dad. He is in Nashville at a square dance weekend, his "friend" is with him. He got up this morning and passed out, they took him to the hospital and they found he has a "sick sinus" and will be having a pace maker put in today.

I talked with his nurse and she assures me he will be fine, but will not be able to lift anything or drive for a while. He will be able to travel in a few days and his friend will be able to drive.

I hate that I can't be there with him, but it is absolutly impossible.

I'm glad he seems better after they put in the pacemaker. I think the word you might have been looking for was sinus rhythm? Anyway, I'm glad he's better.

Prayer request please! My grandmother is terminally ill and not expected to make it longer than a week or so at most. We are planning to drive to Mississippi this weekend with the kids for one final visit (let's hope the rain from Gustav is gone by then). Obviously, if her health declines faster, we will leave during the week. The funeral will be in Huntsville, AL. This is really rough on the kids (and all of us). Thanks for the prayers.

I'm so sorry. I hope you guys make the trip safely. :grouphug:

I vote yes

Me too -- and the borders around them look great, Deb. Jennifer -- I vote for just one design on each side -- it gets too busy with a lot. We always get more compliments on our shirts that are simple.

Goodnight everyone..i have faculty meetings al day tomorrow then getting the room ready for the kids onw ednesday--this is crazy :)

That is so cool -- have fun!

I know I've missed some posts -- just wanted to say hello and to make sure Debbie and anyone else in the path of the storms stays safe. We had a great time at Sea World -- will post some pics tomorrow, hopefully.

Jennifer I emailed you the last 2. What changes did you need made?

Anne Marie & Elizabeth our dates for next year are the 5th - 15th!

Glad you had a great weekend Marci!

Thanks Marci, we are fine. The question is, did your BIL survive?

Are you close to where your Dad is in Jersey? I hope so! :goodvibes
About 2 hours. I'll leave work as soon as I transmit payroll and I have an overnight bag packed. :cool1:

Stephanie - :wizard: that the right decision is made for your dad. :grouphug:

Debbie - I'm sorry that your dad is having a rough patch as well. I hope the pacemaker does the trick. :grouphug:

Jennifer - I like the first lettering best!
Thanks Tia. I hope they do too. I still vote for no operation...:goodvibes

I'm glad that you'll be able to get there. Stay safe, and know that we are praying for you and your dad!
Thanks Glynis.:goodvibes

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:  Denise. I hope she goes peacefully after you get there.

Kristine-I am sorry that Bill is not only going through the health stuff but is still under other stress!!
Kristine, I hope Bill feels better soon.:goodvibes

That was one of my problems with the bigger camera, too. It was inconvenient to keep it in the bag and pull it out all the time, but it was annoying to have it around my neck all the time. I still want a dSLR someday, but I really do see the convenience of the smaller cameras, too. Then there was all that rain...

Laura had to read Lord of the Flies for her summer reading. Since I never read it, I thought I'd check it out. Boy, that is one dark, disgusting novel!
I really hated that book. I can still remember parts of it. I read it more than 40 years ago!!!:scared1:

Kristine - :wizard: Lots of PD for you and Bill, hopefully you will get the answers and his son will straighten up.

:welcome: home Becky!!:cool1:

Well, I feel really good today. I finally bought return airfare for Terry and my Mousefest trip. I knew the airfare would go down. Just knew it. I don't know if it was a holiday special or what. But it was $177 for the two of us...:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: So we're coming home from Disney in December...:goodvibes :cool2:

Wow. I'm speechless. I can't begin to thank you for all the wonderful notes about my Dad. They moved him to another hospital about an hour ago. One with better cardiac care. They are discussing either a pacemaker or defibulator. I'm not happy with either choice. I'm not liking surgery on a 93 year old man. Plus, my FIL died while having a pacemaker put in. Scares me. I know it is only a 5% chance of something going wrong, but when you have already had someone die because they were one of the 5%, it's just really scary.

Currently they are running more tests to figure out which device they want to implant. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again from the bottom of my very grateful heart:love:
I'm sorry that you are going through this. I agree, at some point you just have to say enough is enough. But how is his health otherwise? Is he still active? If so, then it might be worth it to take the chance. Lots of :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: coming your way.
