Happy Anniversary! Can I get a link to your photopass too? Thanks! All is quiet here. My parents took the boys to the campground with them at noon. Chris and I even managed to go out for lunch. Nothing big, just Pizza Hut. It is our 16th Anniversary today so it was nice to sneak out for a few minutes. We'll head camping as soon as Chris is out of work.
Tammi I sent you the direct invite for our photopass.

Well, first things first.
It's a boy!!!!
Second, the doctor looked at several things. First, they ruled out spina bifida. The spine looks perfect! There are several "markers" they look for with regards to Down's syndrome; the measurement of part of the brain, the skin fold at the neck, eye spacing, and kidneys. Everything looks good except for the kidney. Even that was not enough to make the doctor nervous. At this stage in my pregnancy, his kidneys should be measuring at no more than 4.0 cm, but Peanut's right kidney is measuring 4.1. It's what they call a soft marker. So, that, along with my age, increase my chances of having a baby with Down's syndrome by 2 percent max. I can live with those odds!
We took all the kids with us, and they thought it was wonderful! At one point, it even looked like Peanut was waving to them. Alan and I were just so relieved that all seems to be well.
Thanks for all your prayers, good thoughts and pixie dust! We appreciate it all!
Yup! I'm excited! And because the high risk doctor ordered it, insurance has to cover it!!!! Another bonus!!!!!
After the ultrasound, we took the kids to build a bear, and they chose the cutest bear. He's white with blue spots of fur. They each got to help stuff him, and wish on a heart, and put it in the bear. They each took a turn fluffing him and brushing him, and Alan and I chose an outfit. I'll take a picture of it, as I think it's really cute! We did the "certificate" and it shows that Peanut was stuffed with love by Katie, Jacob, Leslie, Mary, Mommy and Daddy!
Alan was so giddy at that point, that he splurged and took us all out to lunch and then to Krispy Kreme for a dozen donuts! Then, it was back to Walmart (this time with lots of people keeping a hand on me at all times) to pick up some high protein snacks for me to keep on hand! What a family I have.
Jacob told me at one point, that he didn't want to let me out of his sight. He would be my protector at the store. I almost laughed as the picture of him trying to catch me during a faint just about did me in. But he was so serious!
How handsome!!!!![]()
There you have it, folks, Peanut's first photo op!
the DDA is better than family...there I said it again...and I meant it again![]()
Next week is not going to be pleasant in our house.
Great photos!a few photos from our trip to Mount Vernon today:
Don't put the camera in your checked bag.Vicki - I have a master packing list for Summer and one for Winter. I have been working from my Summer list, but things like the laundry bag and the waterproof camera weren't on the list for whatever reason.I just happened to remember that we had those and stuck them in the suitcase. Other things, like mousse for my hair, aren't on there either, so my mousse almost stayed home! I have a travel size one but I don't like it so I took it out of my "liquids" bag.
Warning-hugely long and personal post coming up.
Congratulations Glynis and family!![]()
