I talked to my sister this morning and she will have to stay in the hospital until the infection is cleared up. She did say that the pain is getting less and less so that's a sign for the better.

Thanks again for all the pixie dust.

Continued :wizard: that your sister is all better soon!

Well, we're leaving for the ultrasound in about 45 minutes. I wanted to pop in to update you all on what is going on with me.

Glynis how scary! I am so glad to hear that you & peanut are ok  I need to read on to find out the results of your ultrasound. Please take care of yourself!

Jen - I am packing. It's a good thing I started last weekend, because in the past week I have remembered a LOT of things that weren't on my packing list that I wanted to bring.

Elizabeth, do you have a list that you keep and use each time? Chuck and I (well mostly me) put one together after our first Disney trip. We use the same one every time. We put everything on there that we might want depending on the time of year we go. I print it out and cross off anything that we don't need this trip. There is two lists - one is an individual (which has the list of things each person should bring - clothes, shoes, own meds, etc.) and family (overdoor hanger, generic meds, etc.). We print one individual for each person going and everyone is responsible for their own packing. I usually pack the family one but others sometimes help. It really has saved my worrying about forgetting something.

I know I missed you, but hope you all have a wonderful time!

I agree about the floors, but I love not having that nasty carpeting anymore :thumbsup2

Just think what was in that carpet! :lmao: It's not like you are tracking in more dirt than before.

Vicki - I have a master packing list for Summer and one for Winter. I have been working from my Summer list, but things like the laundry bag and the waterproof camera weren't on the list for whatever reason. :confused3 I just happened to remember that we had those and stuck them in the suitcase. Other things, like mousse for my hair, aren't on there either, so my mousse almost stayed home! I have a travel size one but I don't like it so I took it out of my "liquids" bag.

Elin I like your new tickers! Someday I will return to the Polynesian ::yes::

I'll be there in January for the very first time. I might need some pointers on things to not miss there!

Our weather is so off for July, it is a chilly 67 degrees right now :confused3 I am so not going to be conditioned for the Florida heat!

I so wish! We've been at 95 - 102 the last week (while playing baseball each day) and Sunday may get to 105, without factoring in the heat index.

Good luck driving and for the tournament!

:scared1: SHHHH! Don't say that! :scared:

Adult is $70 per day, but Janet already told you that. ;)

Thanks, Janet! I didn't know that kid price. I don't have a kid. Just a very, very small adult who eats almost nothing.

Me, too!

hi everyone!
Im home from Baltimore--i saw the Duck tour boat and the dragon paddle boats and thought of you all! and of course, where we drank our sangria :)
We had a good time--dinner at Unos..then drinks at ESPN zone. Today was the convention..

I have some news.....................
Tomorrow at 1045 I have a second interview!! this is the district that iw as told a couple of weeks ago they had no openings..they called and asked if i would interview with 2 principals!

I also have an appointment on Tuesday with the ENT to discuss getting my tonsils out
Terrific news! I hope the interview went well and that Monday's does as well.

That you don't guess as good as I do? :confused3 :rotfl2:

I talked to my mom for a bit. She sounds really good. She went and looked at wigs today but she didn't like any of them. She got a pattern to make herself a turban, so she is experimenting with that. She and Diva may go to Nebraska tomorrow to visit some relatives and do some school shopping. Diva completed the road portion of her driver's ed and is now a fully licensed driver. Apparently they are burning through tank after tank of gas to get plenty of "practice" in for Diva. Mom can justify anything if she thinks on it long enough. :sad2:
Mom's blood counts were low so they started her on antibiotics. She said she has had some stomach weirdness but other than that she feels good. She doesn't have any other appointments until her chemo infusion next week.

Sending lots more PD and prayers to her.

Just curious, what did you order? I was at Target looking for things to bring with us. It was cute, some lady in the aisle overheard us talking about what to bring to Disney & she said "They have fridges in the room". I thanked her & smiled. She was trying to be helpful which was nice but I didn't go into the fact that I have a Disney addiction & knew that already.;)

Good luck this weekend & safe travels to the games.

:rotfl:

I would have said "Well, they furnish fridges in SOME rooms. All deluxe, moderate, and DVC rooms have a fridge. If not, one may be requested for no charge. At Value resorts they cost $10 per night. You can request one for medical reasons for no charge, but it may not be large enough for anything other than medication." Then I would have smiled and walked away. ;)

:rotfl:

Can you all spare some pixie dust for my sister? She is in the hospital with a kidney infection. She went to the doctors last week and was treated with antibiotics but apparently she did not respond to them. She has had a round of IV antibiotics and will hopefully respond well to those. TIA.

Sending PD and prayers! How is Emma feeling?

well I think Virginia has had a fever all day. All she did at moms today was sleep pretty much. Mom told me when I picked her up that her head felt hot. Well we get home and she has a temp of 102.2 rectal called the after hrs for the dr and the nurse told Jeff to give her tylenol and if its not gone in 72hr to call back.

I hope Virginia is feeling better!

We are leaving for WDW in ONE WEEK!!
:yay: :cool1:  :dance3:

Yahoo! I'm not jealous at all... I hope you don't have any more nightmares.

Well, we're leaving for the ultrasound in about 45 minutes. I wanted to pop in to update you all on what is going on with me.

I ran to walmart yesterday to pick up a few things, and while I was in the checkout line, I started to get really hot. I wasn't too worried, as I knew I was not dehydrated. However, as I finished up, I felt all the blood rush from my head. Next thing I knew I was on the floor, surrounded by 15 walmart employees, who were holding me down, telling me I had passed out, and not to move. The emergency response team came, and I had to lie there for 10 minutes until they decided I didn't have any broken bones, no split skull and no likely concussion. They helped me up and to the office where I sat for another 15 minutes drinking water and reassuring them that I wasn't going to sue.

Finally, they escorted me to the car, and I headed home. I stopped at the doctor's office on my way home, and they checked me out as well. The baby was fine, and they concurred that I didn't have a concussion. The doctor thinks that my blood pressure is a bit low, and dips if I don't eat enough or drink enough. So, I now have to stock my purse with granola bars, etc.

I got home, and crawled into bed. I think I went into shock at that point. I called Alan (who was out of town on a story), crying hysterically. He was really concerned, and after talking to me for a while, called his boss. Luckily, his company is really family oriented, and they agreed to send a replacement, so Alan could come home. Meanwhile, Katie took great care of me. She brought me ice for the knot on the back of my head (as large as my palm), got me water and food and checked on me every hour so I could check my eyes. Bless her heart! She was a real trooper. She also took care of all the other kids.

Alan arrived home at 5:00 last night, and hasn't let me out of his sight since then. I expected problems being 41 and pregnant, but I wasn't expecting anything like this! However, I'm doing ok. I'm bruised (my rear end is the worst), and sore, but I'm in one piece.

I'll update you all on the ultrasound when I get home.

Oh my goodness -- how very scary! Are you still terribly sore today?

Warning-hugely long and personal post coming up. You can pass over it but I have to get it out.

Last night after I got off of work my volunteer (and friend) said that if I wanted to she could take me to her friend to see if she could help with some pain I’ve been experiencing since Tuesday in my neck. For some reason, I said fine if she can help I’ll do it. God lead me there, I believe.

Lynne is a massage therapist and one look at me said she’d fit me in right then and there. (Phyllis has never taken anybody over there without calling first…another God thing). While working on my neck, Lynne really was like a therapist and I spent quite a bit of the time crying. She said I need to open up and get a blanket of caring around me and I need to start leaning on other strong people because I can’t do it on my own anymore. So I come to my friends asking for that strength.

Usually when there is stress in our life it gives us a break….you know work is stressful, home is okay. I don’t get that break and I haven’t had that break in a long time.

You all know most of my troubles at work so bear with me as you get a glimpse into what it’s been like at home.

My husband has ADD, and uses that as an excuse for everything. Nothing is ever his fault, ever…it is always somebody else’s fault, usually mine. About a month ago he spouted off some heartbreaking things….including that he has never trusted me from the last time we separated because I mentioned divorce. That was 10+ years ago. When we last had trouble I said he had one job and that was to find a couples counselor. That Sunday I told him I wouldn’t go to a couples counselor until he had gotten personal help. I also wrote him a letter….he thought it was a letter of my forgiving him….it wasn’t. As of Wednesday night he hadn’t gone to a counselor, doesn’t have an appointment and I don’t think has any intention of going.

In the letter I told him I didn’t like who I saw in the mirror and more importantly I didn’t like what my girls saw when they look at me. I have lost who I am somewhere in the shuffle of covering his butt when he screws up, in one way or another. I am done…it has never been my job to change him….but I have changed and I want to go back to the way I was before. I grew up…I don’t think he has.

So right now I am trying to figure out where my life is headed, where my marriage is headed, if it’s even salvageable. You all have been my beacon of light when I’ve needed you and my normalcy in this storm. Thank you.

A few of you know more and as I feel up to it, I will probably share more, so please be patient with me. :flower3:

I'm really proud of you for taking control of your life, deciding you need to make changes and for knowing that you are worth the effort. Ditto what Kristine and the others have said. Know that we are all 100% behind you.

Speaking of sad....

Did you hear that Randy Pausch died? (He's the gentlemen who did that "Last Lecture" I had mentioned months ago...he died this morning from complications from the pancreatic cancer....

for whatever reason...it has stirred up emotions from when my dad died of cancer....

 I'm still learning that when I don't expect something to be difficult or to bother me, it does. Hang in there!

Here's Pat Pat Rocket.

Darling! Thanks for sharing.

Well, first things first.

It's a boy!!!!

Second, the doctor looked at several things. First, they ruled out spina bifida. The spine looks perfect! There are several "markers" they look for with regards to Down's syndrome; the measurement of part of the brain, the skin fold at the neck, eye spacing, and kidneys. Everything looks good except for the kidney. Even that was not enough to make the doctor nervous. At this stage in my pregnancy, his kidneys should be measuring at no more than 4.0 cm, but Peanut's right kidney is measuring 4.1. It's what they call a soft marker. So, that, along with my age, increase my chances of having a baby with Down's syndrome by 2 percent max. I can live with those odds!

We took all the kids with us, and they thought it was wonderful! At one point, it even looked like Peanut was waving to them. Alan and I were just so relieved that all seems to be well.

Thanks for all your prayers, good thoughts and pixie dust! We appreciate it all!

I'm so glad that HE's healthy and he's a HE! :goodvibes

Lindsay -- good to see you! You and Elizabeth really should stay indoors on Sunday... :upsidedow

We got in last night around 10:15 from our game. They won in a playoff. Today's game was at 9 a.m. That was a quick turn-around for having to drive so far. We lost this morning. I was sweating like a pig at 11. I took the boys to work with me (they begged to go to the waterpark with a lot of the rest of the team) and now we're at the hotel relaxing. The game in the morning is at 8 a.m. We're playing for third place in our bracket (there are 4 brackets since there are 60 teams).

Sending a huge hug and lots of PD to everyone who needs it.

Have a great weekend!

Marci

Yup! I'm excited! And because the high risk doctor ordered it, insurance has to cover it!!!! Another bonus!!!!!

After the ultrasound, we took the kids to build a bear, and they chose the cutest bear. He's white with blue spots of fur. They each got to help stuff him, and wish on a heart, and put it in the bear. They each took a turn fluffing him and brushing him, and Alan and I chose an outfit. I'll take a picture of it, as I think it's really cute! We did the "certificate" and it shows that Peanut was stuffed with love by Katie, Jacob, Leslie, Mary, Mommy and Daddy!

Alan was so giddy at that point, that he splurged and took us all out to lunch and then to Krispy Kreme for a dozen donuts! Then, it was back to Walmart (this time with lots of people keeping a hand on me at all times) to pick up some high protein snacks for me to keep on hand! What a family I have.

Jacob told me at one point, that he didn't want to let me out of his sight. He would be my protector at the store. I almost laughed as the picture of him trying to catch me during a faint just about did me in. But he was so serious!

That is so sweet! What a wonderful day for your family! :goodvibes

Marci - Good luck with the upcoming baseball games!! :wizard:
I am not even planning to get dressed on Sunday, let alone go out! :rotfl2:
As for nightmares, pretty soon I will have such wicked insomnia I won't have dreams of any sort.

I know! And notice, she didn't even acknowledge the fact that she made us wait! :sad2:

It's not very often I have news good enough to make people wait for!!! You're lucky I didn't wait until I got home from Mom's on Wednesday!

i think i rembered someone talking about 22 cent crayons..was that a special promotion or is that all of the time at some store? if so, which store?
Thanks :)
Walmart had crayons last week for 22 cents..not sure when the sale is over.

Here's Pat Pat Rocket.

Hmmm, sounds like time to update the list for next time.
