DDA Chapter 10

I got an email from my brother who lives in Japan. He is trying to get a job in Tampa. He'd be there early next year. That would be cool.

That would be so nice for all of you, Vicki!

Tammi and Elin - I'm so jealous that the 2 of you are close enough to go out for dinner so frequently! I keep trying to talk some of you into moving closer to me, but so far, no ones biting! Seriously, I think it's wonderful that you two look out for each other.

Things here are great today. No dizziness, no icky feeling, nada! Alan left the a/c on all night long, so I never overheated during the night. I woke up feeling great, and he's been right by my side making sure that I have water and some kind of protein (cheese sticks, peanut butter, etc.). What a guy! I think he's really excited because he actually felt Peanut kick last night. He was so thrilled! It makes it more real for him.

We also preordered a Wii bundle from Gamestop. It comes with the Wii Play, the Sports and Mario Galaxy. 2 remotes, 2 nunchucks, and a recharging/docking station. It was a pretty good buy at 349.00, so now we just need to find the Wii Fit and Christmas is done! At least the Santa stuff.

I am the lucky one to have Tammi so close. :goodvibes There is actually another DISer who lives here that I need to introduce to you all. I had lunch with Joanne a few weeks ago and we clicked just like Tammi and I did. You all would like her a lot. And Stephanie & Terry... she is our age. ;)

I am so glad to hear that you are feeling better today. YAY for Alan taking such good care of you. And getting that Wii bundle for that price is phenomenal! Well done!! :yay: What a wonderful family Christmas gift.

when we did the sunset safari, there was a honeymoon couple who was raving about BG/Tampa....however, what they were raving about was the VIP or behind the scences tours...not sure what they are called...but they were talking about it being better than any wdw tour they have done (and they had done them all.

Tampa? I was extremely underwhelmed both times I've gone. Once I was able to ride coasters and there were a few that were ok, but not worth the price of admission, IMO. The second time I was pregnant and work paid for it, so it was a very different trip. I did lots of "sight seeing", animal exhibits, etc and they were extremely disappointing. I understood going into it that between WDW and our zoo I'm definitely spoiled in regards to theming and animal exhibits, but it was still just very mediocre. Just my two cents...

Ironically, Kyle and I were just talking about this today!

party pooper :rotfl:

Christmas at AKL CL is our splurge! No Sunset Safari!

I think I did the Tampa one as a kid...but not back since then

which one? The one here in Virginia is gorgeous. I think it has been named the most beautiful theme park in the country. The one in Tampa... eh ;)

Speaking of Wii... Kristin and I will be setting up the Wii Fit and playing Mario Kart after dinner. Have I mentioned how glad I am to have her back home? ;)

Terry and Stephanie - Sounds like a great meet! Congrats on winning the breakfast, Terry! I could tell by the look on your face that is was so special to you!

Glynis,

Thank you. Yes getting this was my one and only goal yesterday. I cannot wait for Stephanie and I to meet with Deb in the Roy Disney Suite. Stephanie has met her a few times so I knew this would be the best ever Christmas present. Of course it cannot be a surprise, but it was worth standing right by the table and 'hover' to make sure I got the highest bid. :cool1: :woohoo:

when I first set up the wii fit...I had a terrible time doing some of the fitness activities...and hour into it...I finally figure out that I had the thing set up backwards on the floor :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:geez!!

I read a review on the DIS about a year ago from a guy who did that VIP Tour with his kids . What I read DOES put anything I have read about anything at WDW to shame.
(Well... maybe some of Janet2K's parties were pretty close. And there was the stuff you did... ;) )

Glynis...if you want me to, I am pretty sure I can get one for you...let me know

Thanks for the warning!

That would have been me!!! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

It would be fantastic! :cool1: I'd get a chance to get to know my nephew as well as his sisters and brothers. The original plan was to move back to Texas when he got done in Japan. I'm glad to hear that he is rethinking that plan since I believe his wife isn't really interested in moving back to Texas (that is where she is from). If she wanted to go back to Texas, I'd be worried about the plan.

I know that you all will have a ball. :dance3: Another trip of a lifetime coming up!

Deb is the nicest lady. I have met her a couple of times, but it was a long time ago... before her fame grew. :) But from what I understand she is the very same person she was back then.

Her web designer is the father of two of my students, actually! Small world.

We have chosen a few ADRs I would like to have AKL IPO make for us for December. I hope that they have better luck than I think I would have at this late date.

  • Bob and I would like to eat at Le Cellier one of the first days we are there alone. It can be a lunch or dinner time ADR. We are not picky.
  • We want a late night Cape May Cafe ADR for Christmas Eve. That way the girls can arrive "whenever"
  • Christmas Morning at Boma... anytime after 10:00
  • Christmas Dinner at Jiko... anytime after 6:00
  • 12/26 dinner at Yachtsman... anytime

That shouldn't be too much to ask for for a 6 day trip, I hope.

get those requests in asap Elin...don't wait for IPO to contact you (at least not more than a day)

I had to initiate contact with them

Well, well, well.... Kristin suggested I call Disney Dining just to see what was available. I got every one of my ADRs within a 10 minute time of when I wanted them! :woohoo:

I have been reading how there is nothing available for Christmas at all anywhere. :confused3

I have been picking away trip clean up. I'm pretty sure I won't be done today though the laundry pile is much smaller. I also made it to the grocery store and deleted all the extra pictures. Now I need to find time to add borders and or embellishments to the photopass photos. Anyone really bored and want to work on those?

We also finished the Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows cds. We listened most of the way home and still had 3 cds left. It is a really good book and had us all riveted. We just had to finish it.

I also stopped by work to make sure that I was included in next week's schedule. It looks like I should have 3 nights

A bad storm blew through here on Friday. Luckily we had no damage, but there are tons of trees down all along the roads and the corn fields have a lot of damage. I guess there was high winds and hail.

I think they changes in the DDP has made it easier in general

We went to BG once several years back and were very disappointed. Of course it rained the entire day so that didn't help.
