what can I do to take the owie out of a bee sting?? Abi got a mild sting this evening.
I can remember when I got one a neighbor took her cigarette, got the tobacco wet into a paste and put it on the site and it took the sting away.
So Elin....how is the Wii?

I gotta tell you, when I first walked in the room, there was everyone with books and books of pins. All I had was the pins I owned on a big piece of bubble wrap.![]()
I was ready to walk out. We started talking to the couple who were hosting the event and I just started to feel better. Then when i met a former co-worker and she took time to answer questions, I started to calm down even more.
Plus Penny is a big trader and collector. I now have lots of resources close by.
I am not ready to go to a pin trading event, but that could be in the future.

There are several signs of an allergic reaction to bee stings. Look for swelling that moves to other parts of the body, especially the face or neck. Check for difficulty in breathing, wheezing, dizziness or a drop in blood pressure. Get the person immediate medical care if any of these signs are present. It is normal for the area that has been stung to hurt, have a hard swollen lump, get red and itch.
Mario Kart is fun! Kristin is setting up Wii Fit now.... I am refusing to make my Mii until tomorrow because we had a lot to eat for dinner.![]()
I wish Chuck was here. He got one the other day and put something on it. Let me see if I can call him.
Here is something I found online.
http://www.surviveoutdoors.com/reference/beeswasps/index.asp#treatment
And this:
If one is stung, the wound can be treated in the following ways:
Remove the stinger with all haste, in whatever manner is most convenient. If you see a little black dot in the wound, part of the stinger is still present.
Clean the area with soap and water.
Consider applying an antiperspirant to the site. An ingredient called A aluminum chlorohydrate may reduce the effect of bee venom.
Apply cold. Use ice or cool water for 10 to 30 minutes after the sting. This blunts the body's allergic response.
An antihistamine such as Benadryl, taken by mouth, can give some added relief, and help prevent the reaction from spreading.
A shake lotion such as calamine can be helpful. A paste made of baking soda and water can have a similar effect.
Topical hydrocortisone can also provide some symptomatic relief.
Give acetaminophen or ibuprofen for systemic pain relief.
I think Chuck used the baking soda and water paste. It was a white paste on his arm afterwards.
If you have not already removed the stinger, do so and wash off the area with soap and water. Some ideas ice, pain killer aka Tylenol or Ibuprofen, calamine or anti-itch cream, Benadryl. They also make stuff specifically for bee stings, but I can not recall what it is called.
I hope she does not get a reaction to her sting. I cut and pasted this information about reactions.
Well, you have to start somewhere!![]()
Penny has an awesome collection. I think she went to the Animal Kingdom pin event in May. I am a little intimidated by the big events because they are so EXPENSIVE. And you still have to purchase the pins you want, and you have to request them ahead of time. It seems very complicated. Maybe after you do it once it makes sense.![]()
Terry, are you thinking about the BIG pin events, or just an organized trading night like the ones at the Contemporary?

thanks no episodes today but still not wating much to eatJennifer - Here's some PDfor Virginia, there's a stomach bug going around here.
Congrats, Debbie!!I guess 2000 is a good place to say good night, thanks for all the conversations!
congrats TerryThere was a silent auction today at the meet and I knew there was a breakfast with Deb Wills from All Ears. That was really the only one I knew I really wanted. There were some other things, but I knew I had a certain amount of money I could spend. I put a bid in and that was the highest bid for almost two hours. About 10 minutes before the end someone else put in a higher bid, so I just waited and hovered. As they were counting down the last 15 seconds, I started writing my name ---slowly and finished with 3 seconds left. But Stephanie was right beside me to put her name down if needed so I could win. So,,,,I won breakfast with Deb which I will take advantage of in December on the Mouse Fest Cruise. I cannot even begin to tell ya'll how happy I am. So Stephanie and I will be joining her in the Roy Disney Suite.

Because of some strange bite/rash at my ankles I begged off working today. I was right yesterday I ended up in the headbanger tentIt actually wasn't until the last one but they so underestimated the popularity of the acts they put in our little tent...it was constantly overflowing.
I am going to try and sleep a little more than the two hours I got last night...nighty night!!
