Hi,

I have a very picky eleven year old. We're talking chicken tenders, macaroni and cheese, and plain ham on white bread. That's about it.

We're on the DDP and she is paid as a full adult. Can I save myself a TS credit and just pay out of pocket for her to eat off the kids menu or is that not allowed?

If not do I use a full TS credit for a kids meal? Or will she end up eating bread all week?

You can buy her a kids meal out of pocket. The dining credits can be used by any adult on your reservation. If you choose to use her credits to pay for a kids meal for her, you'll use an adult credit.

Okay, so they don't really care that she isn't under 10 then, that is a relief. I thought they wouldn't even sell us a kids meal.

Price is less of an issue than making sure she eats something (well, other than Itzakadoozies :) )

Good to know that she can eat and I can save.

We did the same thing last year for DS (10 at the time). Paid OOP for kid meals for him at the TS restaurants and used his TS credits for extra meals for DH, DD & I. Worked great for all of us :thumbsup2

Don't read a pm I just sent you . I must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed. Sorry.

I thought my DD (13) was the only child that was this picky--you are describing her ideal meals too ;) We were pleasantly surprised at WDW last December-she tried many new things and liked them including: grilled chicken, hamburgers, chinese (she loved Yak & Yeti), and mahi-mahi. You might be pleasantly surprised too! Have a great trip :)

My DS 13 dosent eat many things either, we will usually get him a CS meal before we eat and then pay oop for desert and a drink at dinner. at WCC they made him a plain bowl of pasta, they are pretty accomidating.:) she will be fine.

my DS 12 is very picky and we just came back and had been on the Platinum plan...so we did not want to pay out of pocket because we were barely going to be able to use all of our meals as it was.

They were very accomodating and allowed him to choose an appetiser from the adult menu, an adult size portion of the kids menu and at some restaurants gave him chicken fingers and a side that he liked from the adult menu, then he could choose desert from the adult menu. He LOVED it that way. It also allowed him to try a few appetisers that he would never have tried. Granted, he hated most of them but we tasted them as well.

His favorite restaurant other than buffets? Le Cellier at Epcot where he had and LOVED the cheddar cheese soup and breadsticks and he had a grilled chicken sandwhich with nothing on it and fries and then chocolate moose.
