Then we will agree to disagree.Trick or treating at 16 and 18 is not normal.
I'm not really bothered by it. I'm just not going to pretend it's not weird.

We had an infant in a carriage come by with the new parents. They didn't take any candy even though I offered (and my neighbor who was with me). They said they were just excited and wanted to bring him/her - couldn't really tell as the baby was bundled up. I'm sure they took photos as did I for my kids first halloween. It's just fun. They even stayed and chatted with us for awhile and then they said they were heading home. What about parents who carry a dressed up infant? Does anyone believe the infant is going to eat the candy?
There is much worse things a 16 and 18 year old could be doing on Halloween night! I would much rather see them out ToTing than hearing about them being in a car accident after a party, etc. I really don't understand why it is an issue for them to go out and be young at heart again. Have we really gotten to the point of being that stingy that teens can't go have innocent fun!?

Since age was discussed so much leading up to TOTing I figured I'd post what my dd just told me. Her and her bf went out last night TOTing. They both had costumes on. One house asked my dd her age and she said 16. She got candy. Then her bf got asked And he said 18. They told him if he could buy cigarettes he was too old to get candy from them. Lol. I was in the camp that whover comes to my house gets candy. I just thought of the dis immediately when my dd told me this story today. Figured I'd share this with you guys

Oh it didn't bother them it all. I actually was asking her about TOTing and if she had any stories and she told me that. They only TOTed an hour or so and they did enjoy themselves. ThanksWow, that's awful! I give to anyone who comes to the house! I feel you are never too old to enjoy life! Halloween is so much fun. So sorry that your dd and her bf had that experience![]()

Well if you are intending the bleep to be a curse word towards my dd's bf than I find that insulting and rude of you.An 18 year old a grown-bleep man and it's weird for him to be walking up to houses asking for candy.
Not true! It was totally normal in MA last night. We had just under 300 TOTers last night & several older people not just young.
Sorry that you think my 16 year old is not normal for going trick or treating. You seem really bothered by it. I just thought since there were so mAny TOT threads that some of you would get a kick out of this.
Oh doesn't bother me except the bleep name calling which is rude. They did have lots of fun and my DD is working on her future college stuff now so I think she needs to have as much fun as she can. She missed TOT a few years when she was a cheerleader and they had football games on Halloween so maybe now she is catching up on what she missed those few years. Thanks.I TOT'd until I was in college, and so did my friends. Nothing wrong with it. Don't let people bother you for thinking that way. I bet your daughter and her BF had great costumes!

And no, she's not tall for her age and she was in a costume. She said the guy was weird and kind of creepy anyway. Thankfully she was with friends in their neighborhood, so it wasn't any of our neighbors. All of the teens who stopped by last night were very polite and had obviously worked hard on their costumes. Honestly, they were better behaved than some of the elementary school kids. They at least said trick or treat and thank you.
