Okay, the nerd is coming out to play. A lot of people don't realize how big Quidditch is getting with colleges/communities around the world - and if you've never played it, it's a blast! It's a mix between rugby and dodgeball, including tackles and general dirty work on behalf of whoever plays the snitch, so it's definitely a full-contact sport.
There are a couple of us trying to get two teams going while at Disney for something we can do outside of work. Even if you don't like Harry Potter, the game is so much fun you'll never even care, really.
You need a bare minimum of seven people per team, plus a snitch, plus a ref. Our goal is to get enough people to "cushion" the teams because we know there is absolutely no way that everyone is going to have the same days off for a game. This isn't some big, serious thing, it's to have fun. I know they've got the soccer thing down at Disney, so we're wanting to start something a little different. If anyone is interested that's going down for Spring/Spring Advantage 2012, you can request to join the group on Facebook. It's just started, so we need help spreading the word!
