So i know its like 4 years away (i'm 14) but when I go to college I want to get into the college program at WDW. So I have a few questions and it would be great if you could answer them!! :goodvibes

1. How long are you at Disney for?
2. How long do you work per day?
3. Does Disney provide housing and transportation to (and from) WDW?
4. What positions can you be put at? Like attractions, working at a store, etc....
5. If I want to work in attractions, specifically Haunted Mansion, Thunder Mountain, or Splash Mountain, is there any way to let them know (like on the application) that you want to work there? or does Disney just kinda stick you somewhere where they need more workers?

Thanks! ;)

Hi there let me try and answer the best I can!

1. You are there anywhere from 4-8 months with the option of extending your program so you stay longer.
2. You are usually scheduled 6-8 hour shifts, depending on how busy it is your hours can go above 8. I once had a 12 hr shift :O
3. Disney does provide housing, rent for the housing is taken out of your paycheck every week automatically so you don't have to worry about paying it. And yes there is a CP specific bus system that takes you to and from your apartments to Disney property.
4. Positions you can be put at are attractions, merch, custodial, character performer, character attendant, lifeguard, quick service food and beverage, full service food and beverage, and many others. Those are just a few of the most common ones.
5. On the phone or through email you can request to work a certain place if you get a certain role. That doesn't guarantee you that location but they take it into consideration.

Any other things I can help you with or that we here on the boards can help you with don't be afraid to ask! It's good you are thinking about it so early, it might be a ways away, but it's never too early to be thinking about Disney!

Thanks!! also, I've been dancing for 12 years now and just wondering, is it possible to get into the program as a dancer in a parade/ show? are those spots harder to get then something like merch or i guess what i'm saying, is there a specific way they give you the job? or do they just say "ok, we need another casheir, lets put this person here"?

You will attend an Audition in a city close to you that are set up around this time of year (for people doing Spring Programs). At the audition you will dance and try to convey scenes through actions. I went to one and it was fairy difficult but I don't dance. If you have been dancing for 12 years, chances are you'll do fairly well. At that audition they look at your weight, height, looks etc to consider you for possible Face Character roles as well as costumed characters as well as dancers in shows/parades/etc. When I went to my audition city, I had already been accepted into the program but you may show up even If you haven't been accepted yet. It's not like "okay we need a cashier, put her here" because there are two HUGE arrival groups Spring/Spring Advantage and Fall/Fall Advantage (the "Advantage is an additional three months). College Program makes up a HUGE portion of the CM's at WDW so there are thousands of positions that open up every time one program ends and another begins. They know exactly where they need CP's since they've been doing this cycle for a looong time now.

I just finished my CP in May and went Seasonal with the company. Definitely recommend the Program, I got school credit for doing it because it is technically an "internship".
