DCL transfers from MCO... WWYD?

For our March cruise we're staying at Hyatt MCO the night before. We will likely take DCL bus to the port. We want to board as soon as possible, as we like eating and checking out the kids clubs early. I know you now don't get to pick a PAT with the bus. Haven't booked the bus yet nor have we checked in (we check in early December).

Would it work if we check in online, book a PAT and then book a DCL bus? Then assume whenever we get on the bus and get to port, if we had an early enough PAT it would get us on earlier? Or does the bus automatically cancel out the PAT if we have one?

I believe @Dug720 has advocated for exactly this process... online check-in prior to booking transfers. Whether or not it truly has an impact on the boarding number is anyone's guess. DCL seems to have been playing around with the boarding numbers and need for PAT (or not) for guests arriving by DCL transfers.

That is what others seem to have experienced. I have never had my transfers booked before online check-in and have always selected a PAT. This time I am not really stressing it as I will be on pre-booked DCL transfers from Boardwalk - so I know I will not be there for an early PAT.

We haven't booked our transfers yet either, so I think I might try this for us as well.

We also check in in december and I will come back here and report what we experienced. We didnt add transportation from MCO yet (we arrive day before and staying at a hotel close to airport) but will once we check in.

Just thought I would mention that two weeks ago we boarded a 10:45 DCL bus from MCO, and were on the ship before 12:30 and that was booking the transfers first. So even without the PAT, it went really quickly and that included a 10 minute wait to get a picture with Minnie in the port.
