DCL removed verandah tables from Dream

Oh goodness, I hope not.

That being said, my then 3 year old wiggled lickety split under the balcony divider. Naked.

Some kids are like that.
I consider myself a reasonable attentive parent.

(However, I'd rather have the option to remove the table than have it happen.)

We cruised Feb 6 in room 7690 and did not have a table. We used the trunk from the room on the verandah and the room host didn't tell us it was a problem.

We're sailing in a verandah room on the Dream, and I thought they did away with the trunks. The tables I saw in substitute seem too heavy/cumbersome to easily move (as do the trunks).

I have already sent a complaint email. If I want to cruise Disney, why book a balcony if they remove the furniture? If I want a balcony, why book Disney?
What email should we use? If true, this would be very disappointing!

I didn't know if we were allowed to move it but I figured they would tell us if we weren't. It wasn't too awkward to move it (I did it myself) and we left it out for 4 nights. You can see it in the photo below before we moved it out.

Too funny. Great idea. It didn't take up too much space? I was going to mention we actually use the verandah table to sit on too, not just for drinks. Was this on the Dream?

I just came off the Dream today - we had three rooms with verandahs, each had 2 chairs, 2 lounge chairs and a table. Rooms 9176, 9174 and 9674.
Huh, that's weird. Our last cruise had none. (8138) Were your rooms extended verandah? If so I could see them putting them in those just to fill up space.

Could it be that the prior cruise the people requested to have it taking out and the stateroom host forgot to put it back in the room after the cruise was over.

It didn't take up too much space because it was an extended verandah. And it was on the Dream.

And none of you watched the Port Canaveral Cam to try and see if this was true?? Must I do everything?? Lets all watch the Nassau cam tomorrow and see what we can see. :surfweb:

This seems very bizarre. If my kids are young enough for me to worry about them climbing on the table on the veranda, they're too young to be out there without me anyway. And if they're old enough to be in the room unsupervised, I would sure hope they'd gotten enough sense by then to stay off the table and remember that chairs are for sitting.

Of course, this could have been started by a worrywart like my husband, who sees the danger in everything and cleared our living room of everything except one soft couch, padded the floor and fenced the area off as soon as our son started to walk...but it seems like the simple solution for that would just to be to ask to have the furniture removed from that particular veranda. Especially since not everyone has small (and unwatched?) children.

To be clear, my husband did not do this, since we have not been on our cruise yet and he refuses to look at any pictures yet. :joker::joker:

If most of the verandah railings are plexiglass, kids can see through them...why are they standing on tables to see over them? Unless the incident took place on a whitewall balcony. Any kid that stood on a table would just as quickly stand on a chair so let's get rid of those as well. From now on we can only sit on towel animals while eating/drinking off the balcony floor. Good times.

I thought the same exact thing. .. don't need a chair to see anything on the plexiglass verandahs (which.most are, i believe ).
