I am not giving only half the kids goofy ears because I didn't want tears either. I will give them all pirate bandanas, a goody bag with a telescope, tattoos, pirate bubbles, a pirate pencil,, pirate stickers, a pirate ducky, bendable pirate and pirate coins I bought from Oriental Trading. We have enough H20 products from our last few cruises to hand something out to each adult with their promotional materials in the goody bag. I may go get a refrigerator pad to put in their bag too.

Question for those having more than 5 kids at the party:

What are you doing with the Mickey/Goofy ears? How do you prevent tears? What is everyone doing with the large Plush?

Thanks!:confused3

I bought a whole bunch of prizes (Disney Mix Max Camera, Disney Beanie Babies, Disney Action Figures, etc.). Most were on sale at the Disney Clearance Sale so while they have a tag of $15-$30 I didn't pay that.

Every child will leave with a prize and since those supplied are not DCL specific, no one will know what is "mine" vs "HP"

I'm raffling off the bags and asking that nobody open them until they get home. Even with the items that I have bought to supplement the bags, somebody will end up unhappy! I'm explaining to the parents that they're all different and I don't want any hard feelings. (I hope it works! :confused3 :rotfl: )

Also, as far as the OBC goes, my TA found out that you'll be able to use it after tomorrow. :thumbsup2 I'm happy that at least Disney fixed that for us!

I am anxiously awaiting info about how our guests can enter the guest sweepstakes, and our email confirmation for the host sweepstakes entries. Today is the deadline!

We have a lot of kids...

pirate: I have a bunch of the Pirate Bandanas (about 10) that I am using for the bigger kids. The youngest will get the Mickey Pirate Ears. No tears.

Also, I am picking up some more stuff at the Disney Store and the Party Store today. Misc. pirate stuff for gifts.

For a big gift won by a drawing of a guest's name, I am making a big basket with a bunch of DCL stuff, H2O products I got and the big Mickey Dreams Plush we received.

Each of the goodie bags will have DCL items (cups, wrist bands, mesh bags, float boats, ...) that we have accumulated from Castaway Club Stateroom gifts.

Those look delicious! Do you need a taste tester? ;)

Thank you!! Sure you can be my taste tester! But I see that you're in Florida, so I'LL bring them to you! :rotfl2: Unless you really want to leave the Florida weather to come to the -4 degrees we have today in Indiana just to taste test my Mickey brownies! Umm...I didn't think so! :lmao:

Never underestimate the power of chocolate. ::yes::

FWIW, I called DCL tonight to try and get my OBC applied to my reservation for later this year. The rep at DCL told me that they had just gotten word themselves that the credit would be applied to existing reservations, and their programming team had not even had time yet to get it into the computer system. They're expecting it to be available in the system by Monday, and asked me to call back then.

Thanks for the info - I'll try next week!!

I am so glad they are giving it to us!!

I know I need to get a life -- I am feeling like a thread hog here.

And I don't normally photograph my food, but I think this one's a winner! :thumbsup2

That is the orange variation of the rum cake recipe I posted earlier. I'm going to have to put a padlock on the fridge to keep DH and DD away from it until Saturday. :rotfl:

The cake looks AWESOME! Wonder how it tastes? Aren't you even tempted to cut into it?? LOL I would be!!

Ok, ready? Here's my first ever attempt to create hidden mickey's on frosted brownies. It takes a steady hand and my DD-4 was standing right next to me and bumped my arm a couple times. (I know...excuses, excuses) Anyway, they're chocolate brownies with vanilla icing...I wonder if these are even going to last until Saturday evening!! :lmao:

Debbie - they are GREAT! Everyone's things are turning out awesome! I have to get busy on that baking! LOL I am making these 'no pudge' brownies - (doing weight watchers - have to lose before the cruise! LOL) - anyway, if I don't ice them, do you think I could just put mickey's on the tops, w/the the vanilla? Maybe do Mickey in white??

Oh, and BTW - tried the iron on this morning... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: What a joke! LOL

I bought one of those helium tanks in walmart for the balloons - I've never had great success with those in the past, but figured I'd give it another shot.. we'll see..

ooh, I LOVE No Pudge brownies! (Fellow WW gal here ;) ) Mickey in white icing would be very cute.

I am afraid of the iron-on -- don't know if I will go there. :scared: I was thinking about getting a plain white apron at Michael's and putting it on that. I have not had much luck with iron-on's.

For the balloons -- my co-hostess is going to take them to Publix or the party store and get them inflated. I think they will inflate balloons you bring in for a small fee.

When you make the No Pudge brownies - do you use the 8 x 8 pan or the large one?? The box calls for the 8 x 8 - they should be ok to make tonight for tomorrow, right??

I didn't know the party store might inflate w/just a charge, probably cheaper than the $20 I spent on the tank.. OH, well...

The iron on was a bit difficult.. well, it is done, and I have to say, I should've done it on a tote bag - it looks horrible on the shirt - when I pulled off the protective backing, part of the white came off - that was BEFORE I started.. the middle part looks ok, but the bottom w/the date, looks bad - so, I doubt I'll even wear it - it'll be a good night shirt.. and I have to tell you, I am not sure how it is going to fair in the washer! :confused3

I've only made them in the 8 x 8 pan. Be warned that they are fudgy in texture -- not cake-like. A little hard to cut. You might want to stick them in the fridge and cut them while they are chilled, and then decorate.

Whoever came up with the idea for an iron-on was clearly NOT a Mom! :rotfl:

I Am Princess, We are giving 2-part tickets out, a guest comes in (2) tickets, wearing shorts (2) tickets, Wild Shirt (2) tickets, bring a desert to share (5) tickets, we are having a guest that is a travel agent, if they get a quote from her (20) tickets and so on, then they can bid on the items in a chinese auction.

Know it's too late for party purposes, but I got two of the underwater posters and would love to swap a MM one to frame and put in the house.
Thanks!
Oh, I guess just pm me or if it's full (I haven't deleted lately) email me at george@ebicom.net

That is a great idea to iron it on a white apron :thumbsup2 that is what I will do.

The cake and brownies look yummy and so can I have some!!! I have not started baking yet so will be doing that tonight. Have about 13 woman coming so need to get extra blue goodie bags and still trying to figure out what the heck to put in them. Got some good ideas here about the coping and such. I sis get H2O stuff to put in them and have H2O products for our games including a Mickey mug and Tink mug.

I have made pirate names to put on name tags as they walk in the door. Some names are ....Pirate Nancy the bonehead, Pirate Cindy the sword test dummy, Pirate Theresa scurvy legs, Pirate Jill quid lips, Pirate Kris the one eyed tweet, Pirate Stacy Thar she blows, Pirate Debbie the staggering drunk, Pirate Bonnie no cannonballs, Pirate Judy scurvy gums and so on...remember these are a bunch of crazy woman that would fit theses names and laugh.

Yay UPS is here!!! Lets go see what is up with my box. O man he just drove by !!! at least he is here in the neighborhood.

 Ok - so - my DVD skips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY sat down to watch it, and it skips, then plays, then skips again - so, NOT happy with this!

Oh, well, what I can see of it is pretty cute -but, the skipping is quite annoying... I guess I'll play it anyway....

Laurie

my dvd doesn't work at all...

I am baffled as to why they would not send out a quality dvd for this....
