DCL Party Planning Thread (combined threads)

Okay, I couldn't find the thread about the house parties, so I thought I would post a new one. We received our box today with all the goodies for the DCL House Party this weekend!

All I can say is that Disney did a GREAT job of providing materials for the party! It made DW and I even more excited about hosting the party this weekend!

The house party is at the top of the main page.

What did you get? In looking on the main page for the house party, most others seem disappointed in what they received.

I don't see why you can't combine it wth an agency credit, you just most likely can't combine it with a rebook on board. Agency credits come from the agency not Disney, so usually they go together. I am waiting for an answer from Disney if it can be combined with a rebook on board or the Disney Visa promo combo.

Please let us know when you get a response. My 2009 cruise is still the same price as the day we booked it, so if the $50 OBC can be combined with the Disney Visa promo, I will cancel and rebook. Can't wait to hear what you find out. We booked our 2009 cruise in the beginning of December because Disney sent an email out to CC members saying they could get a $50 OBC if they booked within a certain date range. We did and then found out the CC OBC offer couldn't be combined with the Disney Visa offer. It really made me mad! As far as I was concerned, the offer wasn't any good to me. I already have the Disney Visa and can get the $50 every time I cruise if I pay through them. Anyhow, can't wait to hear what you find out.

I am watching to see what you find out.

We leave on the 2/2 Eastern and am rebooking for 9/2010. It will suck if I can't use the OBC in combination with the rebooking/Disney Visa/DU OBCs.

Another question I have . . . it says non-transferrable. I'm thinking non-transferrable to another party. Are ya'll with me on that or is it that you can transfer your cruise to another date . . . I have to book for 2009 until the 2010 rates come out.

I would email DU directly, while they may or may not know if the HP OBC can be combined with the Visa and rebooking, it is up to them if it can be combined with what they offer

Can anyone help with the tracking thing? I'm putting in "DCL Hosts" as the reference, but getting the same error message others have been getting. My zip is 77581, if anyone can manage to get the tracking to work!

I hate to be a Negative Nelly, but the box was kind of strange. I was excited to get it and it was fun looking through it, but after the initial excitement I was, like, huh? Kids these days--my daughter excluded, who is Peter Pan obsessed and signs her school papers "Peter Pan!"--aren't all that into Peter--they like pirates and princesses. And while it was nice to get the pirate stuff, I think Princess stuff would have been better served along with it instead of Peter Pan stuff--stuff for the boys, stuff for the girls. And didn't Return To Neverland come out a year or two ago? It feels like leftover marketing stuff they threw in-not cruise stuff at all. And TWO pages of tattoos? FOUR masks? I can give a few kids the really nice pirates ears and the others get an eye patch? And two of the SAME poster--couldn't even do one of each? I would have rather had 10 pens, 10 note pads, 10 something with DCLs logo and that would have been cheaper to ship and more cruisish, even. I don't know, the Peter Pan stuff just got me because I think it is old merchandise. And while I agreed to have a party and I knew I was going to have to buy alcohol and groceries, which ain't cheap for a crowd, I was hoping for some nice things to send home with guests without feeling like I need to spend more $$$ to add to it, which is what I will have to go try and do tomorrow on an already tight schedule. I mean, SIX magazines? And an iron on, which means I got to go buy a shirt to put it on?

ups.com select "track by reference" from the drop down menu on the upper left.
On the next page type DCL hosts in the shipment reference box then fill in the united states and your zip code (don't forget to accept their terms & conditions) then it should give you the info

The tattoos and masks were given out at Mickey's Halloween Haunt at Disneyland 2 years ago. I know, we have TONS of them because that was the alternative to candy whe you went trick or treating

I'm so glad that I have no kids coming...that would have been harder with not much stuff. I will show the video and have what Disney sends us posted up and such but they are not coming to be talked into a Disney cruise...they have already heard it over and over from me. But it will be a pirate party and play my videos and such.

they all know that it is a pirate party with a DCL theme so my bases are covered. I think if enough people complain they will get it. I cant believe that they are only offering us a sketch for all we are doing.

when I have told others that applied but did not get excepted about what is coming they were soooo glad that they were not. We all thought that we would get something nice...even one nice thing.

The original package that was e-mailed to me that I posted was AWESOME! and made me feel like we were special for being picked....know I just feel like a sucker.

But with all else said it did push me into a party and I do love to throw parties....

by the way what is the Decal of???? not that I am going to iron it on a T-shirt to wear. Maybe when I go on my cruise I will use it if it is something to do with the house party. If it is just a plan DCL decal than I will pass.

I looked through my e-mails for the one informing us of the shipment but I can't find it. Did it say to contact House Party if we had not received our package by end of day on the 23rd? I'm worried if I wait that long I won't get it in time for our party on Friday?!
