I thought I would share with the DVC group as well. I called this morning and booked the one (1) Hawaii DCL sailing being offered next year. It is a 15 day cruise going in and out of LA to 4 different ports in Hawaii.

Here's the points I was provided by MS...

Guest 1&2

Cat 7A = 442 points per person
Cat 6A = 464 points per person

Guest 3 (adult)

Both categories mentioned above = 264 points or $1,851.00 if paying cash

In case you want to know...we are booked!!! I am so excited!! When I joined DVC in 1998 there was 2 things I wanted to have happen over time. Be able to go to Hawaii on points (thank you Aulani!!!) and be able to cruise to Hawaii from LA on points. Disney & DVC have made all my dreams come true!!! Guess I better start thinking of some new dreams...woo hoo!!!!

Congratulations!! :cool1:

I personally was excited when I saw Hawaii, but then disappointed when I realized there was only one cruise, and it started and ended in LA. I would have liked a cruise that sailed from LA, did the islands and ended there (so I could add on a stay at Aulani. Or the opposite. Or one that just sailed the islands for a week. This cruise is a total failure for tieing in with DVC!

But I'm sure you'll have a great time nonetheless! Please don't let my disappointment dampen your enthusiasm.

We are booked too! John and I decided this morning and I fortunately got on the phone with MS and secured a category 11b cabin.

Points for that category is 550 for 2 adults (275 each). I understand the category 11b's may now be sold out, but that is not verified.

We would have preferred an outside room, but are just happy to now be on the ship.

See you on board! :boat::boat::boat::boat:

Congratulations to all who are going on this cruise! DH and I and our DSs did a cruise of the Hawaiian Islands for our 24th wedding anniversary. It was a very special time....that cruise line is no longer in business. Would love to do the DCL cruise, but can't take the time off next year.

I called this morning right at 8 but couldn't book since I am a Silver CC member. I'm hoping there will still be a lower-end room available tomorrow morning when I can book!

It's a 15 night cruise which starts on April 29, 2012 out of Los Angeles at 4 pm.

Days 2, 3, 4 and 5 are at sea.

Day 6 at Hilo, Hawaii
Day 7 at Kahului, Maui
Day 8 at Honolulu, Oahu
Day 9 at Nawiliwili, Kauai

Days 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 at sea.

Day 15 at Ensenada, Mexico.

Day 16 back at Los Angeles at 9 am.

When you call tomorrow, be sure to call Member Services, and follow the prompts to the Cruise Line booking. You may have to book a "Guarantee" category if you are seeking the entry level cabins. But, I did that actually on my Med Cruise and was assigned my cabin about 6 weeks prior to sail date. So you will be "in" just waiting for a room assignment later on.

Good luck to you, and please let us know tomorrow how you make out!

Hi lah3hh,
That sounds wonderful. :cloud9: I love hearing stories of members taking dream vacations with DVC. Thanks very much for sharing and have a wonderful cruise. :thumbsup2

I would LOVE this trip..timing is bad though..soo..hopeful it's a huge success and they offer it again!

I hate to be the fly in the ointment, but in my opinion, there is too many days at sea and not nearly enough days touring Hawaii.

And, they aren't going to stop at the Kona Coast on the Big Island. I mean, Hilo? Given a choice between Hilo and Kona, I'll take Kona thank you very much.

This is exactly how I feel. I'm very happy for the OP. But when I saw all the new itineraries, I sorta felt deflated.

I was really hoping to combine a cruise to Hawaii with a stay there. Maybe DCL will listen and we can see that in the future. I even joked with my hubby about getting off at the first port and then just not getting back on until they are ready to go back to the US. of course that wont work, but hey - I can dream.
