To answer the question of HOW I got the design on the wall, I used a projector. I had a DCL folder that was sent to me when I hosted a house party last fall. The folder was great because it already had the design in a "flat" version. The only problem, was that the design was the same on both sides. I had to "fix" the right side of the design by subbing in Huey, Doey, and Louie instead of what the DCL folder had, which was a second watercraft. It's strange how DCL uses different versions of the design for different applications.
In the end, I had to freehand a bit of the design, but most of it was perfectly traceable from a scan on the laptop to the projector on the wall.
After that, it was all patience and 3 - 4 coats of blue paint around the existing gold wall that I originally had in my dining room. Oh, and a little "help" from my toddler. He was always underfoot! He loves Mickey though, so it was alright by me!
I so agree with the idea of sending to DCL - you did a fantastic job!!! I would find myself trying to make a chocolate souffle or konk kooler to serve, playing my DCL playlist and just enjoying it! Very very neat - thanks for sharing!
