DCL Excursion Nassau Blue Lagoon Questions

Hi, all! I did a search on a couple of sites (this forum included) and couldn't find anything specific enough for the questions I have.

I'd decided to change our Nassau Blue Lagoon excursion from the Blue Lagoon Island Beach Day to the Blue Lagoon Island Dolphin Encounter-- Now my questions are, it is only necessary to pay for one, and not both, in order to visit? As in, it does not require you to pay for the Beach Day if you are paying for the Dolphin Encounter, correct? I'm not even sure it would allow you to pay for both, but it also does not specify, and the vagueness bothers me.

My second question is, if you are booking the Dolphin Encounter, are you still allowed full access to the beaches as if you booked a Beach Day? And my third and final question (for now), does it include lunch like the Beach Day Excursion? Thanks in advance!

I did the Dolphin Encounter in 2013, and we got a couple of hours on the beach with this excursion after the dolphin encounter. We also got a ticket to turn in for a lunch selection. However, if the excursion doesn't say that a lunch is included, it probably isn't anymore.

That's a shame. All the DE excursion description specifics is that food and drinks are available for additional purchase, so that's probably the official answer: it's been excluded. Which is a shame, considering it's the most pricey of the BL excursions, but that's just as well, I suppose. Thanks!

They often have deals on their website. When we went last February it was buy 2 get one free. There were six of us so we got 2 free. It was such a good deal despite not having lunch included. If I recall, the lunch was under $10 PP.

We did the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounter in 2013 also. We were able to do one of the first Dolphin Encounter, which allowed us to be able to stay and spend time on their private beach. There were things such as water slides and stuff to do, but all cost extra. We opted out of the lunch. We ate breakfast on the ship before hand and the boat that takes you over to the Blue Lagoon sells stuff like soda and chips if you want something like that. Here are a couple pictures of the beach area at Blue Lagoon. It seems like we could have bought food over there, but we didn't. We just spent a couple hours on the beach after the Dolphin Encounter and headed back to the ship so we could take a quick shower and headed over to Nassau to do some shopping. I will tell you something I could kick myself over is by not purchasing the video of us doing the dolphin encounter. We purchased a couple pictures but not the video because I didn't take enough money. There is a gift shop to purchase t-shirts, stuff animals, pictures, videos, and etc., so make sure you take cash or credit card. They may have had food in there as well. Maybe someone that has been there recently can answer those questions.

One thing I would tell anyone that is considering the Blue Lagoon is watch people's youtube videos. I learned a lot before we went from those. One of my co-workers has done both the dolphin and sea lion encounter and loved both of them.

We did the dolphin encounter less than a year ago. It did not include lunch. It did include access to the beach until the last shuttle leaves. We only paid for dolphin encounter. Like others said, the bouncy things in the water cost extra.

We loved the dolphin encounter. Only thing I didn't like was ordering & picking up pictures. It was very chaotic and there weren't enough workers. The process took nearly an hour and I missed a lot of beach time just getting pictures. We did not eat lunch there as DH has dietary restrictions & allergies. We ate a good breakfast on the ship. We brought dry snacks (think chex mix, crackers, granola bars, etc) and ate a little right after we finished the dolphin encounter. We did not spend very long on the beach and took a ferry back to the ship for a late lunch.

I am not sure about purchasing video, but we were able to purchase animal encounter pictures online in 2015. We were given a card with an access code that was good for some period of after the cruise - maybe 30 days. This was sea lions not Dolphins, so that experience might be different. Our excursion did not include lunch, but we were able to spend as much time as we liked on the beach until the boat went back to the port. There were either two or three departure times
