DCA or WestCOT... Man what could have been

Check this out its a Wiki on the proposed WestCot... They trashed this idea then gave us DCA. Thoughts? Opinions?

Yes, living in SoCal and growing up going to DL, I remember hearing (sometime in the '80s) about the 'second park' that was coming, which was supposed to be the west coast version of Epcot - WestCOT. At that time, the idea of Epcot didn't really interest me, but as I got older and learned more about Epcot, I thought WestCOT would have been a great idea out here - and today, I especially think it would have been great. The problem is we suffer from strict space limitations and zoning issues in SoCal and as we all know here on DIS, not much development can be done around DLR. Florida got lucky and hit the geographical jackpot and they had all kinds of room to expand. This is why the proposed idea of a 'third park' in Anaheim is a mystery because there is simply not a lot of room unless they try to do a waterpark (which I hope they do not). We can never have a nifty Disney Sea or an Animal Kingdom and probably not even a WestCOT.

I think westcot sounds great! Of course I do love me some epcot But things happen and you get what you get.

mommy taught me, you get what you get so don't throw a fit. I love DCA and I love Epcot, Im just happy we have them DCA will be better, ut I always did love DCA so it will only get better

I just dig that EPCOT has a bit of a learning component in it. If DCA could somehow pull that off as well as sell beer they would have it all. I mean really how easy would it be for them to have a "The Land" ride dealing with CA agriculture and farming... That would rock.

As I recall, the idea for DisneySea, long before the decision to build it in Japan, was first proposed for Long Beach.
