Hello

Was wondering if it's worth it to book this without the dolphin swim, is there still enough to do?

I think a 4 and 6 year old would love DC, assuming they enjoy swimming on the whole. The only thing they would be excluded from is the dolphin swim (the 4 year old, anyway....as minimum age is 6).

They could....

- snorkel in the Grand Reef

- float around the lazy river (under the waterfall, in the cave, etc.)

- watch the monkeys and otters play in the Freshwater Oasis

- build sandcastles on the beach

- feed the birds in the aviary, and

- snack and dine to their heart's content.

It would be a leisurely, relaxing, uncrowded day. Kind of like a day at the beach, only better.

Also forgot to add....as an added bonus, admission to both SW & Aquatica for 14 days is complimentary with admission to Discovery Cove. You can use your 14 days either before or after your DC date (or a combination of both). Purchase of a DC day also allows you to add on a special parking package ($30 for 14 days unlimited parking at SW & AQ).

I would gage how your kids will be in the water with fish. My kids are 6 and 4 now and the oldest is TOTALLY freaked out about being in the water with live fish. Also, the water is on the cool side of comfortable and it is salty in many places. Both of these would bother my kids. (who wouldn't swim in the salty pool on a cruise ship). So I would first consider how adventurous your kids are and then go from there. For some, it would be a great escape from the hustle of WDW. For some it is a lot of $$ for uncomfortable, unhappy kids.

My kids have seen the adds and asked to go but we are going to wait at least one more year.

Both the Freshwater Oasis and Wind Away River have no fish in the water (only the Grand Reef....and the dolphins in the dolphin pool, assuming you class them as fish). A fish-phobic person could easily enjoy those two areas plus the aviary and the sand beaches (and the awesome food).

The water temperatures in both those areas of the park are super warm (think bath water comfortable....definitely not cool at all)....and I don't recall either the Freshwater Oasis nor the Wind Away River as being salty.
